Welcome![edit]

Hi, Philfaebuckie, Welcome to Wikipedia! Wikipedia-logo.png

Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy the encyclopaedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ; plus, if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page.

Additional tips[edit]

Here are some extra tips to help you get around in Wikipedia:

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.

Proposed deletion of Buckpool Golf Club[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Buckpool Golf Club, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No indication the course is used as part of any major tour or any other indication of notability.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. License tagging for Image:Buckpool_Harbour.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Buckpool_Harbour.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 06:52, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

North Church[edit]

Hello Phil, Buckie is on my watch list cos I've a lot of Buckie blood coursing through my veins. So saw an IP making an edit and thought i'd check in case it was more vandalism but it wasn't. I didn't noticed that I had changed the on to in but that's probably because that's the way I look at these situations. The way that comes most natural to me is that a building is in a geographical area and on a geographical feature. I would say: the House of Commons is in Westminster not the House of Commons is on Westminster, so by the same reasoning I would say: the House of Commons is situated on the north bank of the Thames. Hope that explains my edit. Regards, Bill Reid | (talk) 10:26, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 25[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kiiking, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Fulcrum and American (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
