Disambiguation link notification for February 26[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Lee Won-hee, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kim Min-jeong. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Yuya Yoshida has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. joe deckertalk 08:02, 5 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Judo at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Qualification[edit]

Hi Pink-seoul-judo,

Thank you for updating the list of judokas who will compete at the Games. Whether an athlete does not have an article, kindly add a link as well for future updates. Btw, as per the IJF World Ranking List direct qualification method, if an NOC has more than one (1) male athlete ranked in the top 22 of the World Ranking List of 30 May 2016 and/or more than one (1) female athlete ranked in the top 14 of the World Ranking List of 30 May 2016, the NOC can decide which of these athletes will receive the quota place. Much better if you leave them empty until the NOCs had selected the judokas. The list will be published on the site on June 10, 2016, so please bear your patience when the other NOCs are taking much needed time to choose their judoka who will secure the quota places.

Here are the references posted below.

Anything else, great job! Thanks!

Invitation to the African Destubathon[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Daiya Seto/Masato Sakai image[edit]

RE: Daiya Seto/Masato Sakai image[edit]

Left is Takuro Fujii. Right swimmer?

To conclude: The photo on Seto's page is clearly Masato Sakai so I removed it. It was mislabeled.

Regards,

Pink-seoul-judo (talk)

Thanks, but those photos do not prove your point. Seto and Sakai are very different outside the pool, but they are similar when wearing swimming caps. I was looking for their photos with caps, taken from the side (i.e. not frontal photos). Materialscientist (talk) 10:22, 12 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I honestly think it's not -that- hard to tell Seto and Sakai apart regardless of in or out the pool. The photo on Seto's page was obviously not him and was Sakai.

Pink-seoul-judo (talk)

Thanks, this one looks convincing. By the way, do you have an idea who are those two swimmers (the photo is from Rio Olympics)? Materialscientist (talk) 22:40, 12 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the woman is Natsumi Hoshi of Japan. The guy I'm not so sure, but he is not from the Japanese, Singaporean, Malaysian, Taiwanese or Korean Olympic teams. Pink-seoul-judo (talk)

Great, thanks! I'll crop and add it shortly. I added a few more images to identify (images are not great, but better than nothing - we have poor coverage of Japanese Olympic swimmers). Materialscientist (talk) 11:24, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The swimmer next to Takuro Fujii is (believe it or not) again Masato Sakai. I got a positive ID because of his teeth.

The lady swimming butterfly is Runa Imai. I can't ID the breaststroker. Definitely poor coverage of the Japanese swimmers... but that's why I'm here I guess: to de-stub their judokas and swimmers. Pink-seoul-judo (talk)
