January 2012[edit]

I am not sure what your intention was in connection with your recent edits at Panga (Mustjala) and Panga (to be deleted), but on the face of it, your edits seemed unconstructive. If you really think there is a good reason for deletion of an article then you can go through the proper process of proposing deletion, not moving it to some temporary title and then nominating it for deletion on spurious grounds, such as claiming that it is a duplicate of what is in fact a redirect to it. Well, I realized too late that article renaming (I wanted to rename the villages in Mustjala parish to `Village` or `Village (Parish)` as there might be duplicates County-level but in Parish-level there can't be) was as simple as just click - so now there are duplicate pages: Panga, (Mustjala) and Panga (Mustjala).

Thanks for explaining. I have now deleted the duplicate article. If you ever need to do anything like this again, the best way to deal with it is to put {{db-move|1=PAGE TO BE MOVED HERE|2=REASON FOR MOVE}} on the page to be deleted. That makes it clear what you are asking for. Another way to ask for a deletion of an article that duplicates an existing one is to use {{db-a10|article=existing article title}}. However, even though you didn't use the right deletion tag, I would still have deleted the article if I had understood what you meant. The problem was that you said "Duplicate of Panga (Mustjala)", whereas you obviously meant "Duplicate of Panga, (Mustjala)". That meant that, when I looked at the article you said it was a duplicate of, I found the wrong one. Anyway, it's all sorted out now (I hope). JamesBWatson (talk) 20:01, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Panga pank has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced article about a section of cliff. No evidence that this cliff is notable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Csepel (motorcycles) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
