Welcome!

Hello, Progo35, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, your edit to Ben Stein does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

ArbCom 2018 election voter message[edit]

Hello, Progo35. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Barbara Wagner[edit]

Hello, Progo35. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Barbara Wagner".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 00:24, 7 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

December 2019[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. You blanked sourced content with a fake edit summary Meters (talk) 20:53, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

And I also undid your previous edit to this article. "Potentially violent" and "mentally unstable" are not necessarily the same thing, and we cite a ref that specifically mentions the "mentally unfit". Meters (talk) 20:57, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

To whom it may concern: The reference to mentally unfit is precisely why that reference was removed. It is not acceptable to continue perpetuating the idea that mental illness causes mass shootings. "potentially violent" covers what people associate with mental illness, domestic abusers, and everything that might make a person "potentially violent." Just because you have a reference there doesn't make the information accurate. Wikipedia must find a way to address these issues without stigmatizing those of us who are living with painful emotional disabilities. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Progo35 (talkcontribs) 03:47, December 24, 2019 (UTC)

There was no implication "that if FAPE were somehow undermined, the shooting wouldn't have happened" as you claimed. And you didn't remove the link to a wikipedia page as you claimed. You actually removed part of a reference quote, breaking the reference in the process, that was being used to support the claim that "As he could not be expelled from the Broward County School system completely, he was transferred to alternate placement." The only thing you did to a Wikipedia link was to point to a non-existent link. And the article does not say that "mental illness causes mass shootings". It reports what reliable sources say, that he apparently suffered from mental problems, and that the incident led to discussions of school safety and gun control. The issue of mental health was certainly included, but nowhere do I see a claim that mental illness caused mass shootings. Don't remove material because you are making incorrect inferences.
If you wish to discuss these changes then take it to the article's talk page and attempt to get consensus. I think it would be a waste of time, but that's up to you. Meters (talk) 04:34, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
