American spelling[edit]

Please stop changing the spelling of words from the American style to the British in Dwight D. Eisenhower. He's an American President so American spelling should be used here. This is at least the second time your changes have had to be undone. Thank you. - Dravecky 16:57, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on New Cambridge Estate, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. UK/US spellings[edit]

Please leave the spellings alone - you've been warned about this before. Changing between US and UK spellings to suit your personal preference is counter-productive, leads to arbitrary edit wars, and is considered to be a form of trolling. For more details on when such changes are appropriate, see WP:ENGVAR. -- Mark Chovain 20:06, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Administrator impersonation[edit]

Hello. I have removed all administrator-related templates and categories from your userpages, as you are not an administrator. Please do not re-add them without good reason. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks, — neuro(talk) 21:20, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help Please[edit]

{{helpme}} regarding http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghadames#History QuickClown (talk) 20:03, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Basically I tried to hide a quote on the above page but messed it up :(. Please could I have advice on course of action?

I have tidied up the page. If there is a problem just use the "history" tab at the top you can then view and restore (if you want) any of the earlier versions. I took out the poem - since it's the whole poem and not just a quote, and that could lead to copyright issues - since the date on the reference is 1998, it will not be out of copyright yet.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:17, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You very much for your help :D QuickClown (talk) 21:49, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

London Wikimedia Fundraiser[edit]

Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.

Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 23:47, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living persons, as you did to Justin Bieber. Thank you. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 12:35, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just to be clear, next time you do something like that, you will have earned yourself a block. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 12:41, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

HEEEYYY thanks for that threat. Just to inform you that my material was referenced, and as far as I know I wasn't breaking any guidelines, apart from the topic being contraversial. Which by the way is no excuse to prevent somebody making changes. So please, before you go all OOOHHH I'M ADMIN AND I CAN BLOCK PEOPLE LOLLLZZZ please reconsider and take such things into account.

QuickClown (talk) 15:37, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You added obviously false information, using an obviously fake reference. I'm not quite sure what other response you might have expected. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 20:04, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Bertie carvel has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Based on what's listed here; and his IMDB profile, he fails WP:ENTERTAINER.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. elektrikSHOOS 19:43, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In Jamnagar district, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Tata (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

August 2013[edit]

Information icon In a recent edit to the page Bombardier beetle, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Kolbasz (talk) 16:09, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:AAAAHCLOWN.gif or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Baba Suwe requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Please stop inserting language into Malia Bouattia's biography which insinuates that she is not Black British — as per the reliable sources cited in the article, her ethnicity and heritage is stated as a fact and the article will reflect that fact. Vandalism[edit]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Akala (rapper), you may be blocked from editing without further notice. nagualdesign 18:19, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

...Actually, as I dig further into your recent contributions I see a change in attitude, from conscientious editor to blatant vandal, so I'm willing to believe that your account may have been hacked. I suggest that you change your password and either sign out of Wikipedia when not editing or make sure that nobody else has access to your computer. nagualdesign 18:22, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits[edit]

Information icon Hi QuickClown! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Tony Sewell that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.
