Dear RCaparoso, I've just read your plea on the Articles for Deletion page. I sympathise with you, but I would like to give you a little advice on how Wikipedia works. I suggest you read the Wikipedia Style Manual, and What Wikipedia is Not; your article on Randy Caparoso does not seem to comply with these principles. I would recommend that you try your expertise on editing the many existing articles on taste and food, especially the physiological and psychological aspects thereof. Hi! I've copied the content of your article to your user page -- User:RCaparoso. Even if the article Randy Caparoso is deleted as non-notable, your user page won't be deleted, because it is supposed to host information about yourself. utcursch | talk 03:26, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - it's worth noting too that it's generally frowned-upon to write about yourself in an article (see Wikipedia:Autobiography for an extended discussion of why this can be a problem; I'm guessing that this is the case because your username and the article subject are so similar, but please excuse me if it isn't). I appreciate that you've taken time to contribute to Wikipedia, and hope that you stick around even if this particular article only stays on your User Page. Ziggurat 03:38, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just to say, I support your autobigraphical page, but think that if it is kept, you need to change the content of your user page. Anything else, leave me a message. --Chachu207 19:40, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

Hello Mr. Caparoso, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which automatically produces your name and the current time and date. I'm very sorry about the incivility surrounding the discussion about your article's deletion. I am not extremely familiar with the current criteria for inclusion of biographies in Wikipedia, so I have not commented in the AfD discussion. However, I do acknowledge that many AfD's in Wikipedia are impolite and even hostile towards confused newcomers. Experienced users often throw around Wikipedia jargon without bothering to explain the situation calmly to new users, and they sometimes unfortunately drive newcomers away with inconsiderate comments. I apologize for any offensive comments that might have been directed towards you, and I can see that you are interested in contributing to the project in good faith. Whether your biography is kept or deleted, your specialized knowledge is always welcome in other articles in the encyclopedia. As long as you follow Wikipeida's guidelines, such as citing sources, avoiding original research, and generally using common sense, you should be fine. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me on my talk page. And if you need help, just put {{helpme}} on your user talk page. Again, welcome! --TantalumTelluride 22:52, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User page should not be used to indefinitely host content that looks like an article

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your user page may not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline. If you believe that your user page does not violate our guideline, please leave a note on this page. Alternatively you may add {{Db-u1}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, or you can simply edit the page so that it meets Wikipedia's user page guideline. Thank you. Worldbruce (talk) 04:15, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

MfD nomination of User:RCaparoso

[edit]

User:RCaparoso, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:RCaparoso and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:RCaparoso during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Worldbruce (talk) 05:43, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
