Roger, I understand the reasoning for removing the disambiguation page for Roland Lee. Is it appropriate to put a tag at the top of the page saying something to the effect of: "This page is about the English Swimmer. For information about the Landscape Artist, see Roland Lee (Artist)" *1* ?

Also, I am new at this so please bear with me. Why was the page I was working on deleted? I had started it this evening and was planning on finishing the biography tonight after dinner. When I went back to work on it, the article itself had been deleted. Is there a way to work on an article and save it and not have it deleted whilst it is a work in progress?

As for the statue, I am not sure about that one, but I will look into it.

Thank you, Jmaes123 (talk) 05:04, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

*1* pretty close. Use:
{{for|the landscape artist|Roland Lee (artist)}}
- and note the removal of caps from landscape artist. The article was deleted because it consisted of just an image! To prevent deletion, develop it in User:Jmaes123/sandbox but to avoid another deletion when you make it live, satisfy yourself that he is notable. A Google search ain't very promising. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 05:14, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Roger, Thanks for the help, I will do this in the sandbox and then make it live. That's good to know about. As far as his notability goes, a regular google web search (not images) produces some more information. He is very well known in Utah, and has been featured in several watercolor magazines, as well as having done a cover for the SkyWest magazine (the inflight magazine for SkyWest Airlines). He has been requested by watercolor societies throughout the world to teach workshops (England, Italy, and all over the US). I believe that he is notable (and not just because I collect his work), but if you don't, I will agree to not put another bio back up.

As for the statue, I'm quite intrigued. Do you have any background information you could send me on it? I take it that these are two different statues in two different locations, is that correct? If you can provide me with their locations, I will phone the artist tomorrow (his phone number is on his website), and ask him if he is aware of the situation. That's pretty bizarre, I'd love to know what happened there! (feel free to email me -- jason at maestri dot org).

Thanks Roger! - jmaes123 (talk) 05:31, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Searching for roland lee without quotes is misleading, but when I went for this tighter search the number of hits was still respectable so go ahead and try it. The only promise I will make is to abstain from any deletion debate!
As for the statue, it is not just two – possibly eleven! Look at this work-in-progress page of mine then look for Esbjerg and New York in this article (note that Greenock) is mis-spelled. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 07:53, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey RHaworth,

You are recorded as the Admin that deleted and protected the ZipLocal article/page. I am trying to understand the reason for the deletion of the the article as the company ZipLocal is very well known in Canada (Notable) and the article was worded to avoid anything I saw as blatant advertising (which was the prior deletion reasons given). If you could possibly clarify why it was deleted that would help me to avoid it being deleted in the future (I was in the middle of adding references when it was deleted).

Also how would I go about unprotecting the ZipLocal page so that I may try to post a new article in the future from a more neutral point of view? I am fairly new to this so any clarifications you can give would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Zipbudz (talk) 20:45, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Your contributions history and your user name, suggest to me (and two other editors) that you have a strong COI with ZipLocal and that probably you are a spammer. Please read this advice. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 21:34, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

IT Governance Institute

Apparently you are recorded as the Admin that deleted the article IT Governance Institue My goal is to understand the reason for the deletion of the IT Governance Institute article, with the aim of being able to get the article undeleted and improved to avoid future deletion. As I am new to this activity what is the most appropriate manner for me to be able to achieve the above goal? Adrius42 (talk) 22:31, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Easy answer: write a proper article! The entire content of what I deleted was:
Established in 1998, the IT Governance Institute ([1]) focuses on assisting enterprise leaders aligning information technology with business objectives.
which was felt to be insufficient to qualify as an article. As a minimum, you will need to provide some independent references to show that the organisation is notable. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 23:41, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Dhol Academy

I was wondering why it is that this is getting deleted im new to wikipedia please advise.Rbarber3 (talk) 22:16, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

  • One of the things you need to learn quickly is how to create wikilinks! I deleted Dhol academy because it had the wrong capitalisation and I saw that you had also created Dhol Academy. As you have already been told Dhol Academy was deleted as a blatant copyvio. If you re-write it in your own, less spammy words and add independent references to its notability, then the article might stick. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 22:24, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

OK, I am a bit of a noob to wiki and i am trying to learn asap would it be possible to get a copy of the deleted article as i was still working on it ill try and not save it until i have included what is needed regards Rbarber3 (talk) 00:17, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Whoops, didn't realise you were an admin. I declined the speedy here because a google showed he'd acted in Scrubs and General Hospital, among others. It needs clean-up and work but I thought that was enough to avoid a speedy. is there something I missed? TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 12:57, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

  • You might have missed that it was created by user:Souza101. But that ain't a deletion criterion! It irritates me for the lack of effort the author has put in, but sadly it will have to stand. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 17:23, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Whoops, I did miss the creator. I didn't have any time to work on it this morning and I'll see what I can do now. If I can't get much from reliable sources or if they're just minute rolls, I'll happily PROD or send to AfD. TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 22:15, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

OK, it's bad when the tag has more content then the stub. I cleaned it up but from the Times link that listed his roles as "Guy" "lawyer" and "Uniformed Officer #3", I'm thinking he is definitely a small time actor. PRODing. TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 22:30, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

I fully realise that wikipedia is not a free host. I have no intention of writing a student essay on a topic I am a world expert on. Perhaps, if you had paused and used both brain cells you have acquired, you may have realised that I was indicating that merely pointing out that I was inaccurate on a point is not helpful, while indicating how to correct the mistake would be of much more use. I was not aware of the convention and it has been duly noted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Angel of music (talkcontribs) 11:11, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

  • I do not understand. Where have I pointed out any inaccuracies? And which of many Wikipedia conventions are you referring to? I thought that this edit was self-explanatory – I was removing stuff which was either: a) not directly relevant to the topic, ie. which should be placed in other Wikipedia articles or b) personal opinions which have no place here at all. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 15:23, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Incidentally, whilst I stress that Wikipedia is not a free host, remember that you can give people a permanent link to your essay – or indeed any previous state of the article via the history. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 16:04, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
One Wikipedia convention of which you appear to be ignorant is no personal attacks. Phrases such as "wiki-nazi", "both brain cells" are a sure way of getting yourself banned. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 19:03, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Regarding WestStart-CALSTART

Hello! I was looking to request a deletion review, but the corresponding instruction page suggested I contact you first. I think that the article did give a reason for notability/importance, and I will try and work on it under my user page until that reason seems clear. In the meantime I would like to at least add a redirect, but now that I mention, there aren't any other related pages. Just so you know. Nfette (talk) 00:43, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Bingham Road Halt

Key to symbols

I was wondering why you moved this article to the page "Bingham Road railway halt", rather than (as is the custom) "Bingham Road Halt railway station" or just "Bingham Road Halt"? Lamberhurst (talk) 12:19, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

  • "Halt … station" is tautologous: halt is another word for station. "Bingham Road Halt" was a bit too ambiguous: I felt that "railway" was needed. In any case, for this line, Spencer Road railway halt was established as a precedent over three years ago. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 15:02, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm going to raise this on the UK project page, the Spencer Road article doesn't exist and "railway halt" seems to me a nonsense (with all due respect). Lamberhurst (talk) 20:42, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

  • As the map shows, the railway company did not think that two platforms warranted the name "station" so they just called them "motor halts". Halt however is a verb to most people so we add the word railway as an hint that this is a slightly unusual usage of the word. What is nonsensical about that? Move it back to Bingham Road Halt if you wish but please not "halt" and "station" in the title. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 21:02, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

"Halt" by itself would seem to be the most logical solution which would reflect how the station was referred to in timetables, even if "railway halt" would be seem to be correct when describing the type of station (I've subsequently done a bit of research using Kidner's Southern Railway Halts). I have some (recent) photos of the Spencer Road Halt site and had intended to write up an article at some point. On another point, seeing as you wrote the Woodside & South Croydon article in the first place, are you aware if there was ever a physical connection between Selsdon Road and South Croydon? Second, with the exception of Vic Mitchell's book, is there a another decent guide to the line? Lamberhurst (talk) 20:09, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

  • I will happily accept "X Halt" – as in Deeside Halt seen from a train window last week. Pictures of Spencer Road Halt site! Have you been able to produce anything more interesting than my version? As the map above shows, Selsdon Road was the next station on the Oxted Line after the junction just south of South Croydon station. One of its platforms is still visible in the yard of the builders' merchant, etc. off Selsdon Road. I don't know any books – all I know I got off the web such as this at transprot of delight. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 02:37, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes of course, I had forgotten about the disused bridge to South Croydon over the Croham Road – I will modify the route map at some point to show the spur. As for Spencer Halt, my photo is pretty much the same; I've also got one of the footbridge. What is the best vantage point for the Selsdon platform? Also, do you happen to have a photo of Addiscombe before it was demolished? Lamberhurst (talk) 21:16, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

CDS International

Hello there...so, like many others who have written you, I, too am new to Wikipedia. I didn't mean for the page on CDS International to appear promotional, rather I intended for it to be informational. I went on one of CDS' programs to Spain and really, it was the best thing I've ever done(being able to live and work abroad, explore the culture...I could go on). In any case, the organization has been around for 40+ years and is sponsored by both the German government and the U.S. State Department(it's notable). Additionally, they have many notable alumni, like Chris Kojm, the Deputy Executive Director of the 9/11 commission, Trooper Sanders, Domestic Policy Advisor to Former President Cinton, The Clinton Foundation, Daniel Mudd, CEO of Fannie Mae...amongst others. the How can I rewrite the article so that it can stay? Or, can someone else rewrite it? I've tried adding many other links as well...Please advise...Incidentally, their competitor, another international non-profit, CIEE has as page? — cds international (CDS International (talk) 15:00, 7 July 2008 (UTC))

  • Best advice is: wait until an established Wikipedia editor thinks the organisation is notable and writes it up. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 20:56, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

WP:HAU, Status, and you!

As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible system) – great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 23:08, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

This person is http://burningflameblog.blogspot.com/2007/08/mydolls.html and I do not know this person. This person has taken a biography we had posted off of a site and pasted onto his site. I have emailed this person and he has removed our bio from his website, but I need your cooperation to correct this problem. Please help me unblock and unprotect mydolls page.I was the guitarist and creator of the band Mydolls. We are a legitimate part of Texas Music History. I have spoken to the man at Burning Flame given him a personal interview for his blog and he has removed the bio he copied from us from his blog. The Burning Flame site is what flagged the Mydolls page. I have also rewritten the bio and removed any references other than researched facts from the NY time about the movie Paris Texas that Mydolls performed in. I have two notable sites that list us Mydolls the rehearsing band in the NY Times and on the Amazon site where the movie Paris Texas is sold as a dvd. Hi again,

I just found the section for "articles posted for deletion", and I saw the comment about guerilla spam.

Not sure what this means quite exactly, but if we are saying that providing the list of magicians at the end is a problem? Well, what if we just delete the list of motivational magicians?

Let me know if that helps the article, and I'll go ahead and do that.

Thanks, Rich — Preceding unsigned comment added by MotivationalMagic (talkcontribs)

  • "Guerilla spam" means text that appears to be an article but is in fact advertising. Removing the list from motivational magic won't do any harm but it won't be enough to persuade me to withdraw the AfD nomination because I know you are only here to spam. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 11:12, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

When I did, I see that another admin, Maddie, put them back on again.

Hi. I've been discussing concerns on this article with the article's author (who is likely the subject or related to the subject). I read the claim that the subject had written a novel as a claim of notability, albiet a dubious one, and was seeking further sources and information. Since the article has been deleted – and I concur that it's probably a valid deletion – could you do me a favor and notify the author? There was a nonsense tag earlier which I declined (having fixed the formatting that caused it to look like nonsense), and so now having the article deleted might confuse them a bit – or, worse, cause them to repost, then repost again when it's deleted again, and so on into drama. Incidentally, I concur with the deletion of the author's novel at Thicker Than Water (novel), as it was quite promotional. Thanks! UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 12:15, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

What's better, put a references under S.O.C. or recreate S.O.M. with his Own differences?

I see that you deleted the page as a test page. I apologize but it was my first posting and I couldn't figure out how to properly display the photographs. Please advise as to how I should go about adding this page properly or adding it as a sub category of the Lucas Oil Stadium page. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Syntag (talkcontribs) 16:25, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

First, learn about categories! Yes, the images should be added to a Commons category – see below. But what you created was a separate, stand-alone article with a silly title! There is no need for a separate article – put what you have to say into the Lucas Oil Stadium article. Proceed thus:
  1. somewhere on the Syntag website, on an orphan page if you wish, place a message similar to this one to release the images under licence. You may make it general for all images or specific to the images you are about to upload
  2. Upload your images – to the Commons of course. In the image description for each one: give links to the source and to the licence page I have described above and place them in commons:Category:Lucas Oil Stadium
  3. add your text and use one of the images in the Lucas Oil Stadium article.
It is simple when you do it properly! I note your obvious COI but I think what I have outlined above will not get deleted as spam. (A separate article almost certainly would get deleted!)
And absolutely do not do any SHOUTING as you did in your image captions. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 18:31, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank you very much for help and guidance. I wish to do things properly and not disrupt the flow of the encyclopedia. This being the case, I would like to know why you say there is an obvious COI. I'm asking for further explanation of this so that I may better understand what is acceptable and what is not. I have read the COI page that you have linked to and see nothing that would be considered as a breach of this upon my end. I make no reference to my company nor am I promoting myself in any way shape or form. I am simply trying to provide information about the cables used in the stadium. I am not trying to dispute you, but to learn so that I may avoid doing something inappropriate in the future. Thank you once again for your time and help in this matter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Syntag (talkcontribs) 19:49, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

You call it "my company" and you want to write about your product. That is COI by definition. But you are not prohibited from contributing. You will need to provide links to your website in the image descriptions. As long as you leave it at that, your contributions will probably be accepted.
Alternatively, do Step 1 above, then contact TheHoosierState89 and ask them to do Steps 2 & 3. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 04:00, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your advice and taking the time to help. Just for clarification's sake, the company I work for, Syntag, is not related to the stadium nor do we sell wire ropes or cable systems. We make plastic RFID tags. The Tway Company is the company that sold the stadium the cables. Have a great week. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Syntag (talkcontribs) 12:19, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

AfD Val Chadwick Bagley

I searched for this illustrator using http://news.google.com and its archive search, and found a newspaper story about him which I added to Val Chadwick Bagley as a reference. You may want to revisit Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Val Chadwick Bagley. --Eastmain (talk) 17:37, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Smart

This is proven wrong if you would look at this. Furthermore, its a brand new page, and putting "orphan" tags in the middle of updates, especially on its first day, is extremely rude and improper. And yes, the author's definition is extremely important background information, and no, it does not belong in the general biography. Ottava Rima (talk) 19:46, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Sorry, what is proven wrong by what – I do not understand. I work from a stored new pages list and most of the pages I review are many hours old. I did not notice that these were new. But I am sure you will agree that we only need the definition once. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 19:52, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

You said that the work was uncited. Clearly, I linked you to the reference section which had multiple references. Also, redundancies happen multiple times, and even a main link back to another view on it would only have the definition repeated. Multiple pages repeat definitions. Ottava Rima (talk) 19:55, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

  • I said that some external links would be welcome. Please explain the two sentences between *1* and *1*, I may be dumb but I do not understand them. Please decide which article should contain Smart's definition of oratorio and replace it by a link in the other article. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 20:06, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
External links are not necessary and adding templates like that to an article that is properly referenced is a violation of civil. Ottava Rima (talk) 20:23, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

I told you I was in the middle of expanding. Your changing of the page was rude and uncalled for. I hope that I will not have to bring this up to Wikiquette, but I am fully prepared, because your actions are extremely damaging to this encyclopedia. Ottava Rima (talk) 20:02, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

  • You are being over-sensitive. The Wiki motto is be bold – the article patently need an intro, instead of complaining you should thank me for providing an intro. Please see ownership of articles. (Try the contra view – which I will not persue – that removing an {{intromissing}} and {{orphan}} tag without actioning them is tantamount to vandalism.) — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 20:11, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Be bold and being incivil and destroying the encyclopedia are two different things. You are being highly rude right now, and your actions are a violation of just about every possible policy dealing with editing properly. I think the community needs to realize just what you are doing to new articles, especially when they are brand new and you don't give editors a chance to add items to them. Ottava Rima (talk) 20:23, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I think that the "no consensus" decision on this AfD was not warranted, at the very least it should have been relisted for more comment. If you'd like to take this to deletion review, I'd be happy to support you. --Crusio (talk) 19:24, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

  • I assume you agree with me that the article was essentially spam. DRV, as I understand it, is for articles that have been deleted. Suggest you leave the article for a month and raise an AfD (2nd nomination) on the grounds that no attempt has been made to establish notability. Let me know and I will "vote" delete. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 20:09, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Kali Littlefield

Hi RHaworth, Please review the updated notability listed for Kali Littlefield and explain if it is now suitable to avoid deletion. Kronicent (talk) 20:50, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Kronicent

  • Call me cynical if you like but when I see an SPA promoting some aspiring actress, I assume they are a spammer. I shall only be convinced when I see enthusiastic "votes" to "keep" in trhe AfD discussion. In any case what am I to make of a "Official Website" (spurious caps) link that does not work and a four year discrep in the dates of birth? — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 22:01, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi RHaworth, Thank you for your comments. The IMDB website lists an incorrect date of birth. This discrepancy has been addressed several times to their administrator to no avail. We will continue to work on this issue with them until it is corrected. We, of course, hope to see a justifiable amount of "votes" to "keep" the listing. Kali Littlefield is not an "aspiring" actress. She has been in the business for at least ten years and is a respected entertainer, entrepreneur and budding philanthropist. While her breakout role came with the development of the "Kali Kronic Mystery Girl" series, Kali is well known among indie arts, political and charitable gifting circles. Any help that you can give regarding the development and acceptance of this article is greatly appreciated. I am not entirely techno savvy and my efforts are probably giving you a good laugh right about now. 205.160.181.186 (talk) 18:43, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

CSD of J.nolan

Hi! I didn't speedy delete the article, as there was some notibility included. Admitedly, you need a magnifying glass to see it, but there were one or two bits in there to indicate it. As such, I couldn't speedy delete it, but I marked it up for Prod, as I don't think what little notability there is will be enough. StephenBuxton (talk) 11:46, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Rielle Hunter

Could you explain why you have blocked creation of the Rielle Hunter page? David.Kane (talk) 02:07, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

  • You can see the log. Someone had twice posted an article beginning "Wikipedia is full of a bunch of foolish liberal censorship". But ignoring that we have the problem of possibly libellous information – "mistress", "love child" are sensitive terms – we must be careful. Create a draft article in User:David.Kane/sandbox and raise the matter at WP:DRV, I am simply not competent to judge. (Usually when I send people to DRV, I know they are spammers and will not stand a chance. Here, I realise that is not the case – a DRV discussion will be taken seriously.) — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 02:31, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the suggestion. I have done so here. It is short but non-controversial. I will now go to WP:DRV. David.Kane (talk) 03:17, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

I just read the WP:DRV. It instructs me that "Before listing a review request, attempt to discuss the matter with the admin who deleted the page (or otherwise made the decision). There could have been a mistake, miscommunication, or misunderstanding, and a full review may not be needed. Such discussion also gives the admin the opportunity to clarify the reasoning behind a decision." So, can I do that with you? I understand and agree with your deletions of the previous versions of the page. Are there problems with mine? I guess that I need to know what the problems are before I go to WP:DRV. Right? David.Kane (talk) 03:21, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

  • No. You have done the discussing. I have told you to go to DRV – there has been no mistake, misunderstanding, etc.! But see my edit to your draft – you need to expand it. Like what did she do before she took up with John Edwards? And have you got good sources for those libellous rumours? — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 03:26, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Submitted here. I do not include the rumors in the article draft. David.Kane (talk) 04:18, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Transferred to User talk:CJLL Wright

Hello,

A while back you slapped this article with a {{subst:prod|advert}} tag. The user, User:Coffea who originally created the article did eventually upload the images as suggested, but the images were at odds with the subject being explained, as I outline on my talk page. In summary the image is at odds with the concept of a "spouting" bed, with which I am familiar, which is a property of the material being spouted, I quoted my source for this in the linked page. In addition to the, what I claim is incorrect information in the first section, the patent description (third section) appears to be directly lifted from the patent itself [2], which is plagiaristic in nature (the "author" cannot release this under GFDL).

In summary I would suggest a re-addition of a delete tag, but would appreciate a second opinion. User A1 (talk) 13:07, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

  • The rule book for prod says "If this template is removed, it should not be replaced"! If a prod is removed, the next step is AfD. But deletion does not seem appropriate here, the article was a clear fork. I have redirected. I suggest that you augment the coffee roasting article if you think it appropriate and delete (as often as necessary) any attempt by Coffea to add incorrect or spammy info. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 16:09, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

On importing from one wiki to another

You insert the pages that you want to import from Wikipedia using Special:Export, which anybody can do (it's then turned into an XML file on your hard drive). However, you have to be an admin at the wiki where you're importing the articles, at which point you can go to the Special:Import (copy-paste Special:Import into the URL of the wiki) and upload the XML file. It tends to grind to a halt if the file is more than a certain size, so make sure that you're not importing a whole lot in a single file. Templates can be imported, but most intricate templates (navigation, infobox, etc.) don't import easily because of Wikipedia-specific template data; one of the admins here who is an admin at another wiki (on Wikia) made his own. to be used on Wikia. --Toussaint (talk) 18:39, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Thank you. I think I will stick to copy&paste! — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 18:43, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Six degrees

I had no idea the game (and it's variants) were so popular... or that there'd been so much discussion about them. It's interesting the games people end up playign with new technology... Thanks for the heads-up :-) CultureDrone (talk) 06:56, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Six Degrees of Wikipedia

I don't oppose the creation protection, since it's very unlikely that we'd ever need that title, but I thought I would point out that it's really only been recreated once. My "recreation" was to document a page move that wasn't originally recorded. After that, I tagged it myself for speedy deletion. But like I said, doesn't really matter much since we don't need that title for anything. -- Ned Scott 07:43, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Issels

Turns out he & his treatment are notable--see the rather good bio article on him Josef Issels. There's a good many more refs, including Quackwatch, but I have no particular taste for this sort of subject. I think there is probably enough for two articles. alternatively, merge? I cut down on some of the article on the treatment, but there's a lot more to cut. DGG (talk) 02:35, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Fated Souls deletion

Well, I hope you remember this, but you deleted it just a few moments ago, with the reason nn-game. What does nn mean? I have no affiation with the article, btw.— dαlus Contribs /Improve 08:16, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Also, you may wish to warn User:Moogy against recreating deleted material, as he keeps doing so.— dαlus Contribs /Improve 08:19, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

  • I don't need to remember – in case you have not noticed, we have endless logs here to tell us down to the last comma what we did. But it would have been a good idea for you to provide a link to Fated Souls – such links are useful to admins. Nn- means non-notable. I hate Wiki jargon. (See for example the terrible WP:CSD#G4 above. I have no idea what a G4 is and my mind boggles at any sort of automaton who thinks in terms of a G4.) However I do allow nn- because it is the fundamental criterion for admissability here. -— RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 10:00, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but that reply seemed slightly uncivil to me, and I am sorry for not providing a link, but that is no reason to imply I lack intelligence.— dαlus Contribs /Improve 10:08, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Helix of Sustainability

Hullo Roger, As you'll see from the page there's been a bit of editing going on to address your concerns on notability. It now has five references to show significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Regards, Nasier Alcofribas (talk) 20:05, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Hullo Roger, How does the procedure work from here? The article has been edited to address your comments, but I'm not quite clear as to whether I need to make a formal statement of objection to the deletion of the page – the deletion notice seems to suggest that this could be done if I delete the notice, but I cannot at all see how that would work in terms of review or assessment. I look forward to receiving your advice. Regards, Nasier Alcofribas (talk) 22:02, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

  • The prod tag is one you are allowed to remove. But I have done it for you. I don't feel stringly about the article but I would like to get second opinions. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 23:39, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Regarding My Account...

It seems that I am unable to edit my page at User:Carlosanilber. Yes, I see now that it is a bit overdone and I would like to simplify it by removing most of the stuff on there. How do I do that? Or is there a way I can delete it all with one click? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Carlosanilber (talkcontribs) 22:08, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

  • You have done a few article edits since I protected your user page so I will give you another chance. I have unprotected it but please remember – this is not Facebook or Myspace. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 04:34, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

You're right, but at the time it seemed like a good idea. The text came from User talk:Iridescent#Page, in the context of a discussion between Badagnani (talk · contribs) and Iridescent (talk · contribs). I saw that Badagnani (talk · contribs) was asking repeatedly about the discussion, and I wanted him or her to stop asking and instead improve the article, hopefully to the point where its notability would be obvious. This hasn't happened yet. It might be helpful to restore Talk:Bi pong moun as well in case there was any potentially useful information there. -- Eastmain (talk) 04:41, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
