License tagging for File:Newspaper listing some Titanic survivors in 1912.PNG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Newspaper listing some Titanic survivors in 1912.PNG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:30, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm SunDawn. I noticed that in this edit to Thomas & Friends (franchise), you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ✠ SunDawn ✠ (contact) 00:44, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Variations in English spelling

[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. -- Ponyobons mots 18:16, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The Tiana draft page

I thought I would message you since you recently added edits to Draft:Tiana (TV series), to inform you that the present consensus on Talk:The Princess and the Frog#What to do about the Tiana series draft page? is to let the draft page "die out" since the series was cancelled. Typo redirects

[edit]

Hi RanDom, I'm patrolling redirects and noticed you've been mass-creating quite a few typo redirects, such as Citiy or Evnetually. While I'm not nominating these for deletion since I don't think they're worth the trouble, I do want to gently suggest that perhaps making redirects from typos of common words is not particularly helpful. While it's conceivable someone might mistype, e.g., Mitsake, it's just as likely as any other two-letter permutation swap (WP:PANDORA) and very easy to fix. If you're interested in typos, may I suggest WP:MOSS instead :)? I did quite a bit of work there a while ago, it's fun. Rusalkii (talk) 04:06, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, RanDom 404

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Klbrain, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Careproctus colliculi, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Welcome to Wikipedia!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome. I hope you enjoy helping to build the encyclopedia.

I have noticed that you, like me, create articles about fishes. Please could you read the Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section and also look at the guidelines in WP:Fishes?

There is no need to restate the genus in the lead section, as it is obvious to everyone once the full binomial is given. It is best to state the family, and possibly order, instead.

If there is anything I can help with, or you need further advice, just let me know!

Thanks for your work so far, Big Blue Cray(fish) Twins (talk) 19:56, 4 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Poppy (pygmy hippopotamus) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an individual animal that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. harrz talk 20:13, 2 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@harrz @GB fan: I'm aware that when I wrote the article, I didn't actually list what made them notable, so it got A7ed. Anyway. an online search will turn up several pages of articles about Poppy. I think they are notable for an article. I created the article for no other reason than that the subject looked like it had a lot of sources. RanDom 404 (talk) 02:40, 3 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
If you think Poppy is notable, I will restore and move the article to Draft space, see Draft:Poppy (pygmy hippopotamus). ~ GB fan 10:59, 3 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Reaches the minimal publishable quantum, but I wonder whether it might be better to discuss both of the baby hippopotamuses at Metro Richmond Zoo for 'short text' and 'context'.
