Mark, what do you mean by the phrase "the queue is not plastic"? Obviously, this is a play on the old saying that a rule or decision "is not written in stone", but was there a point in your modification? I hope this section is a work-in-process & you intend to expand this thought. -- llywrch 16:38, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

(I'm not sure if you are a native speaker or not, so don't take this as an insult if you are) - plas·tic (pl²s“t¹k) adj. 1. Capable of being shaped or formed
The queue is not plastic - that is, once I schedule a certain article to appear on a certain date, I'd very much prefer not to have to change it.
More generally, yes, this whole page is a work in progress. Eventually I hope to have quick answers here to all the most common FA-related questions. Raul654 18:07, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Well, we met at Wikimania last summer, so I'll let you decide whether I'm a native speaker of English. ;-) I assumed that this was what you were trying to say, but my intent was to let you know that your point needs to be more explicit. That's all. -- llywrch 19:03, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Map and flag images[edit]

You say you wouldn't use map or flag images. I'm assuming that this wouldn't apply if the article itself was about a map or flag? Because of this, I'm not clear if you are restricting images in this way because of copyright, or because of image quality. Say Flag or Ancient world maps became a featured article? "generally will not use country flags, except when the country itself is the FA topic." (or, you can safely assume, the flag itself is the topic) Raul654 22:30, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
That probably covers my concerns. Thanks. Carcharoth 00:11, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
PS. What about polo pools to illustrate international freestyle swimers? :-) Carcharoth 00:18, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Armenian Genocide[edit]

The article on the Armenian Genocide looks referenced and extensive enough, maybe i'm missing something. Briaboru

TFAR[edit]

What do you exactly mean by "greedy requests"? Do you think it is more-so than for FAC one? Nergaal (talk) 13:34, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Fair use images[edit]

Perhaps you should make a note of fair use images in the image section. As I am, and alot of people probably are, unaware of the policy in terms of fair use images.  The Windler talk  11:23, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Christ myth theory[edit]

Hi Raul654, I noticed your comments regarding Intelligent Design and Global Warming achieving FA status. I'm currently working toward getting FA status for the Christ myth theory article and, like the two you mention, it attracts a lot of tendentious and fringy editors. I've tried to hold the line (along with a few other experienced editors) but I don't really know when being a part of a "clique of editors who are well versed" in the topic trips over the line of WP:OWN and related guidelines. Do you have any advice here? Also, is it possible to request semi-protection for a page preemptively, on the grounds that such an article will likely need it as it gains wider exposure through the Peer Review and FA process?
