My life of crime

I know, and I feel just terrible about it...but I'm totally in love with this guy and had to have his album for my vacation. I'd still be willing to buy it if I could figure out how. They shouldn't set up these barriers for consumers which only encourage us to break the law. Anyway, do you know him? Do you love him too? Check out his video, "I PromiseMyself" on YouTube. You'll fall in love with him, too...AND, he performed at Madrid Gay Pride, so he's at the very least sympathetic, and might not mind an old Queen like myself falling in (unrequited) love with him. Hope you're having fun. Poland was a blast, and I still have two weeks more of vacation before I go back to poop, blood and all that other fun stuff in my work. Jeffpw 20:48, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Hadn't forgotten, just proving rather lazy. :) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 20:18, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Winning Colors

Hi, Raystorm! You added the LGBTProject banner to Winning Colors, but a) I don't see any mention of sexuality in the article, and b) it's not in any LGBT cats. When you get a chance, could you expand on that? Thanks! -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 14:32, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Nah, we don't have Category:sci-fi novels with LGBT content :) And in fact, I've been in discussion with Zig about whether a novel with a gay character counts as Category:LGBT literature. Anyway, when you get a chance... Muchas Graçias! :) -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 20:48, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

pt:Wikipedia:Projeto Estudos LGBT

Hi, Raystorm. I've been told by Dev that you started the WikiProject LGBT Studies in Spanish form scratch. I just created the page for the Project in the Portuguese language wikipedia. Do you have advice on how to start a WikiProject? We already have two members there. I understand we should call more people to join, but then what do we do? A.Z. 01:03, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

I'd appreciate a list

One of the complaints about the en. article is that it's too US-centric, which is unavoidable when I have only english-language material to go on. It would be nice to spread the net a bit wider. Serendipodous 10:55, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Wikicommons photos

I must profess my complete and utter ignorance. I've never uploaded anything to WikiCommons, and I had to yank teeth to get the photos on Wikipedia. Do I need to repeat all the licensing and permissions I had to go through to get the Ann Bannon photos loaded to Wikipedia? Help. --Moni3 16:30, 5 October 2007 (UTC)Moni3

Invitation

You are cordially invited to attend one of the greatest pop events of 2008 or any other year: Westlife's March 1st concert at the O2 arena in support of their fantastic new album! Dev and I are going to go, and were wondering if you and WJB might want to meet up for it, too. Let me know soon, as tickets are sure to sell out in seconds of their release (and I am not kidding--did you hear how fast the Spicegirls tickets sold out??!!?? Headspinning). Jeffpw 21:40, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Not a Westlife fan??? Not a Westlife fan??!!??The greatest Boy Band in the history of pop and she's not a fan??? (well, ok, maybe boy band should be a clue for me:-s). Linkin Park, huh? I just watched a video or two of their's on YouTube to see before I made any comments. Raystorm, they look like they might drink or do drugs!:-o The look like they might even have sex!:-o:-o Those nice wholesome boys from Westlife wouldn't even think of doing anything like that. They are truly role models...

Enough of my silliness. I think WJB will probably say the same thing, so let's all meet up either the day before or after the concert. Though I warn you: after you read the reviews of the show, you're going to be so jealous that you didn't go (it's probably sold out now anyway, though, so you'd have to get a scalper ticket). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeffpw (talkcontribs) 20:26, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Linkin Park? I LOVE Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight is like the best album I have ever heard, EVER. OMFG, are you gonna come to London for their gig in 2008? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 01:58, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
Oh I really WANT to!!! I'll rob, kill and/or maim to get a ticket and go! XD I was so disappointed with Meteora, Minutes to Midnight was a huge relief! The guys still have it! If you all wanna we could meet after the concert (because if we meet before you'll probably all be babbling nonstop about the vanilla boys Westlife, soooo... And hey Jeffpw, see if you can listen to Linkin Parks' song In the End. It's one of my faves. :-) In turn I could be persuaded to hear one from your boys hee hee. ;-) Raystorm (¿Sí?) 17:23, 20 October 2007 (UTC)PS:Jeff, I like my boys a bit dark and dangerous hehe
I hope you'll have fun at that Linkin Park concert. I think I'll be on the International Space Station on that date (whatever it is), so won't be able to go with you. ;-D. After listening to that In The End video, I listened to this nice Westlife video. A contrast, to say the least. :x By the way, I'll be in London March 1st-3rd, and the concert is 6:30pm on the 2nd, so let's plan around that. Jeffpw 18:08, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
YES, then we ARE totally going. Linkin Park are the best band I have ever heard in my life. God, I love In the End (and Somewhere I Belong, and Papercut, and Cure for the Itch and...), though I have to say my favourite song is actually Leave Out All the Rest. It used to Breaking the Habit, but oh, Minutes to Midnight... Actually, it used to be Points of Authority, but, oh, Meteora... :D Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 09:38, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Now I feel old:-( Jeffpw 09:43, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
*High fives Dev and hugs Jeff* You're not old! Besides, don't worry, Dev and I will introduce you to the wonders of Linkin Park hee hee! Oh I remember how I LOVED Hybrid Theory! They strike a chord within you, they are that good. Dev, do you know the exact date of their 2008 gig??? Raystorm (¿Sí?) 11:34, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Not yet. The article is about religious debates. Let's not make one up before one starts. Give it time, and it will get going of its own accord.

The Politics of Genetics and Reproductive Technology

Dear Raystorm,

I am trying to recruit participants to my PhD research project, tackling 'The Politics of Genetics and Reproductive Technology'. I noticed your contributions towards the article on Biology and sexual orientation and I wondered if you'd like to participate? I believe you will be able to make a valuable contribution. Before you decide, you should be aware of what this involves. I am inviting you to contribute towards a (password protected) "research wiki". This will be used because I'm interested to see how differing attitudes to the subject interact with each other, and I want to evaluate the potential for consensus in this area. I think the wiki is extremely useful in this context. It involves collaboration and sharing ideas amongst a group, and therefore it could help shed a light on especially contentious issues or areas of potential agreement. The wiki will be in operation for a number of months and I am interested in all sorts of contributions. For further information please see this link.

If you are interested, you will find my contact details on my userpage. Feel free to get in touch should you have any questions. Your valuable contribution would be much appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Nicholas 19:47, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Oops. I notice that the external link I gave you directs you to the wrong page. Sorry. Please | try this instead. --Nicholas 23:19, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Hi Raystorm, that would be excellent. Whatever you chose to contribute would be much appreciated. I don't suppose you'd like to email me? That way I can send you an invitation to register with the website. Many thanks --Nicholas 11:38, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Massively frustrated now. If you could look at the refs (he even wants one ref deleted bcecause it has the word gay in it), and maybe find new ones that support the assertions, that would be great. Also, you could weigh in at the ANI discussion. Thanks, honey. Sorry this is short. As I said, I am frustrated. Jeffpw 12:53, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Another Request...

I'm going to leave this here and on es, since I'm not sure which one you frequent :)

When you get a chance, would you take a look at Benito Papazón? I've done a search all over Google (&google books) for this name and can't find anything. And when I read stuff about the "Dance of the 41" (or "Los 41" or the "Famous 41"), Papazón's name is nowhere to be found. Any ideas? -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 05:29, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Is there an es.AfD I can point to so I can get this one deleted? Or was it speedy? Thanks much!!!!!!! -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 15:00, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Si, Somos Lesbianas

Hey Raystorm, someone has prodded this article saying it's non-notable per WP:BK and not a real novel. I suspect it is real, but can't prove it with searches on google, amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, or the Library of Congress catalog. I wonder if the problem is language, and if something could be found using Spanish-language resources. Any ideas? I'd hate to see this go if it's legitmate. The prod expires tomorrow. Aleta (Sing) 18:11, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for checking into it, Raystorm! Aleta (Sing) 23:03, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh well... We gave it our best shot. It's either an elaborate hoax, or someone knows something. Proving the latter is another matter. If the original author of the article doesn't provide some proof though, I sure don't know anything else to do. It may well be because of the underground nature of the novel that we can't find anything. :( I'm not sure our notability criterion is always the best way to decide if articles should exist, and this is an example of why. On the other hand, there are vandals who will create fake articles, and notability helps get rid of those, so, I don't know... Aleta (Sing) 19:11, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
