P. Balasundarampillai

Hi. I note that you have re-named the above article to Ponnuthurai Balasundarampillai. Balasundarampillai is a Tamil and Tamils usually initialise their first name. If you Google P. Balasundarampillai you get more results than if you did Ponnuthurai Balasundarampillai, so P. Balasundarampillai is the most common name. I am going to revert.--obi2canibetalk contr 17:41, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

OK. I hadn't read up on Tamil naming conventions. Sir Rcsprinter, Bt (cackle) @ 18:27, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

Long ago in a galaxy far away....

There was an adoptee named Rcsprinter. But TheOriginalSoni could never find the time to give the test. Not any more! Now TOS is completely free and will be taking the test any day you give him. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 15:37, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

Probably later today or something... I'm the one often pushed for time now. :-) Sir Rcsprinter, Bt (gab) @ 14:34, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Jetix

Just a note that following your close of Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion#Jetix (Worldwide) a few of the redirects still had the rfd template on them. I've now fixed it and removed the templates.--Salix (talk): 10:44, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Right, thanks. Complex rfd scripts + iPad + late at night aren't the best combination. Sir Rcsprinter, Bt (talk to me) @ 14:35, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sanctuary Lakes Football Club

Hi Rcsprinter, I noticed you delsorted Sanctuary Lakes Football Club under Football the Football delsort page is intended for Association football only not Australian rules football. So I struck the football delsort and resorted under Sports. Just thought I'd let you know for future reference, simple mistake to make not the first or the last time someone's going to make it, Regards. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 02:32, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre

Good Article Recruitment - Completion Award.png
Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed between 12-14 Good article nominations and are not part of WikiProject Good articles (the initial messages I sent out went to only WikiProject members and users that had over 15 reviews).

So for those who haven't heard about the Recruitment Centre yet, you may be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around it (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:

  • Recruiters: The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet this criteria. Now, one of the most important criteria is that you have at least 15 independent reviews. If you are reading this, you are likely 3 (or less) reviews short, so if you review another couple nominations, you can become a recruiter! If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read the process and add your name to the list of recruiters. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the process section is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".

NOTE: If you are interested in becoming a recruiter but do not meet the 15 review requirement, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters and put your status as "Not Available" until you have reviewed enough nominations.

  • Nominators, please read this: If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of this page. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk)

Adoption

Hi there, I am wondering if it is okay if I start an adoption program with you as my adoptee. I need to get myself more aware of the do's and the dont's of editing. You can see the issues I have gone through in my talk page. So please consider my request for the adoption program, Cheers! --PrabashWhat? 22:40, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

I saw this edit on my watchlist and thought "that's a hell of a way to find out you're adopted". -mattbuck (Talk) 22:54, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
I'm on your watchlist? This may be a good time to say http://glo.li/16jFVY3 , or it may not... Sir Rcsprinter, Bt (deliver) @ 20:15, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
Hello, Prabash. I've never happened upon you before so this message was entirely unexpected. Now, are you saying adoptee when you mean adopter, meaning you want me to adopt you, or are you saying adoptee as in adoptee meaning you would be adopting me? If the latter, I will say no chance. It is more likely you made a typo, however, and are wishing for me to teach you about wikipedia. If this is the case, while I would normally take you on, I have absolutely no time for wikipedia right now as I am snowed down with real life issues. Please clarify which you meant, and perhaps why you came (seemingly randomly) to me out of all adopters. Sir Rcsprinter, Bt (deliver) @ 20:15, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

You were recommended to me by User:TheOriginalSoni, and I meant adopter. Yeah adoption course that's what I was told to do and I thought it would help me decently, so ya if you dont mind, feel free to ring in and if you want start an adoption program for me. Thanks! --PrabashWhat? 02:57, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

I'm afraid I'll have to turn you down, no time for a new adoptee. May I instead suggest Yunshui? Sir Rcsprinter, Bt (gab) @ 16:42, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
Its cool, thanks for the support, I will notify Yunshui In a bit. Cheers! --PrabashWhat? 20:14, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

WorldTraveller101 requesting my adoption

Hi Rcsprinter, the above user is requesting me to adopt him as his trainer has retired. Do you mind if I use your materials and perhaps, consult you anytime if I'm not exactly sure about like, how to answer his questions, or I'm not exactly sure of any of his test answers? Cheers.
Arctic Kangaroo () 05:42, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

You have my permission to knock yourself out. Sir Rcsprinter, Bt (message) @
Um...no, I don't mean that. Anyway, TheOriginalSoni has already agreed to adopt WT. I wanted to get on with my adoption course under you now, but seeing that you currently seem so irritated with real life after reading your talk page, I will just continue a few weeks later. Arctic Kangaroo () 07:03, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
No, you can carry on now if you like. I still have time for you. :) Sir Rcsprinter, Bt (natter) @ 15:07, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
Double-confirm that you are not that mad with real life now before I continue to read those stuff. Arctic Kangaroo () 15:23, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
But anyway is RL the reason why you edit so little, and spend so little time on WP everyday? Arctic Kangaroo () 15:24, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
I don't remember saying I'm mad with real life, it's just that there's so much of that keeping me busy there's no time for editing, much as I would love to. Sir Rcsprinter, Bt (chat) @ 16:40, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
I just thought you sounded rather frustrated with this and this. Arctic Kangaroo () 06:50, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
Knock yourself out means go and do it, not literally knock yourself out. Sir Rcsprinter, Bt (natter) @ 10:59, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
Oh, I actually thought you were saying that "You can get out of my adoption if you want to!". Arctic Kangaroo () 14:27, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Blatant Copyvio

This is to inform you that I will be having a blatant copyvio for the first phases of my adoption program with PBASH607. I, however, hope to be personalising my adoption to fit the needs of the adoptees as the time passes by.

Deletion test

Hi Rcsprinter, I'm not sure if you noticed that I had already asked for the test a few days ago. But anyway, I just want to inform you that I'm most likely going to put off the test to after the haze is over. As you can see, I'm very busy with that now. Cheers. PS- Don't need to apologise for being late. You probably know why already. Arctic Kangaroo () 05:16, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

As usual, I'd only forgotten. I've put it up now anyway, for whenever you are smog-free. Yes, I say smog to rub it in that I use British English. "Lol." Sir Rcsprinter, Bt (rap) @ 20:09, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
Actually, the word "smog" is commonly used in American English as well, even if we didn't coin it here. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 00:54, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
@Rcsprinter: Singapore officially uses British English, but we never call it "smog" here, only "haze". Singapore is rojak anyway. Face-wink.svg Arctic Kangaroo () 15:11, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
@Rcsprinter: Forgot to add, the haze has improved since last night, but it may still come back anytime if the wind changes back to the original direction. So, I may be doing the test anytime now if I'm free. Arctic Kangaroo () 15:12, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions

We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:

Views/Day
Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
Quality
Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.

The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:

Content
Is more content needed?
Headings
Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
Images
Is the number of illustrative images about right?
Links
Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
Sources
For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly, your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!

If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please let us know on SuggestBot's talk page. Regards from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 11:43, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
