ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:29, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Magazine cover

[edit]

I am interested to know why you have replaced issue number #1 with December 2024?

Issue number #1 has historic significance, and accords with the adjacent prose.

What is special about issue December 2024 that has caused you to source and upload a new version?

Your edit has caused issue number #1 to be marked for deletion.

If this new version has no particular significance, please consider requesting your upload for deletion.

Thank you.-- 82.13.47.210 (talk) 00:01, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Magazine cover images

[edit]

Hi I see you've been replacing the cover images in various articles about magazines with current (November 2024) issues. With these kind of images, one should be wary of a tendency towards recentism, and it is worth bearing in mind that non-free images, such as magazine covers, are liable to be deleted if they are no longer used in WP articles. Particularly in articles about long-running publications, it might be worth considering retaining "historic" covers elsewhere in the article? Letdorf (talk) 19:01, 24 November 2024 (UTC).[reply]

@Letdorf: Already readded old covers for Autocar, Auto Express, PC Pro, and What Car?. Vulcan❯❯❯Sphere! 23:58, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) Thank you for restoring Bike (magazine) cover, and for your comments Letdorf; as it is a short article, it was not possible for me to re-add the bot-removed non-free file, before the admin hid it. It was something I considered, as we do sometimes show old logos in the prose.--82.13.47.210 (talk) 22:16, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
