Why are you adding year old messages to an IP's talk page

Please do not revert the removal of year old messages from public IP talk pages, as you did here. This warning means nothing to the people using this IP now, as this is a coffee shop, and there are several people using this address. In addition, removal of a warning by a user is indication that the user has read the warning, and need not be reverted. If you would like, I can always start a thread at WP:ANI, or direct you to one of the various WP:VP pages where we can clarify this issue. Thank you. 64.128.201.49 (talk) 01:46, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

I have started a thread at WP:ANI. Thank you. 64.128.201.49 (talk) 01:58, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

October 2010

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Waterloo Creek massacre has been reverted, as it appears to have removed content from the page without explanation. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Diannaa (Talk) 03:02, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Huggle sometimes sucks. Sorry I stepped on your edit. --Diannaa (Talk) 03:05, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Don't worry, this happens. Good luck! (BTW, I use Twinkle, which gives me warnings like "ERROR: The last edit was not made by the user you are reverting! Stopping execution.") Reaper Eternal (talk) 03:06, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
I am doomed then, as Twinkle does not work on Internet Explorer. :P --Diannaa (Talk) 03:13, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
I actually use Internet Explorer for everything except editting Wikipedia, for which I use FireFox. Actually, I only started using Twinkle about 2 days ago; before, I used to undo vandalism by hand. Reaper Eternal (talk) 03:15, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
I did too for a while, but I love the automated warnings. --Diannaa (Talk) 03:19, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Links to redirects

Good work on anti-vandalism. But I noticed on your user page that one of your current main objectives is to change links to redirects into direct links. This can be useful on occasion, but is not generally recommended. It is all explained at WP:NOTBROKEN. Grafen (talk) 06:33, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

OK, thanks for letting me know! Reaper Eternal (talk) 15:50, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Sorry about that. The vandals are out in force today, and I thought your edit was page-blanking vandalism. I have removed the warning from your talk page and restored your edits. Good luck! Reaper Eternal (talk) 23:22, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Antivandal barnstar ani.gif

Thanks for uploading File:Antivandal barnstar ani.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. Why is it...

...that the typical East Indian way of dealing with something they don't like is SHOUTING AT IT UNTIL IT GOES AWAY and then suggesting the other editors are "UNETHICAL" or somesuch? Inquiring minds wanna know. HalfShadow 19:01, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

Are you referring to my request to the IP editor to tone down the "all-caps edit summaries"? I was just trying not to bite him too hard for his borderline violation of Wikipedia:AGF. Reaper Eternal (talk) 19:04, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, this sort of thing happens every couple of days. They seem to think using caps makes their point more valid or something. HalfShadow 19:05, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
Oh wow...I just saw his edit on User_talk:shshshsh. I hadn't known about that before; all I had seen was the edit summary in an article. Reaper Eternal (talk) 19:07, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
That was after the fact, but like I said: pretty common. A fair number of them just lose it, especially when someone disagrees with 'em. HalfShadow 19:10, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

MC HAMMER

RE: Recent reverts... I will do the proper thing (per Wiki) and contact you to discuss this instead of dispute it with edit wars. You need to explain to me what source isn't acceptable and why. There were more than one given. I'm not sure what you are disputing. There were several different edits made and you can't toss out the entire edit. I expanded on what was already there. Someone removed "dispite public rumors" that had no source for a long time. I did 80% (over time) of this article. So I know a bit about it. If you would actually VIEW the sources, there is a video of the show where it is said. So you can not argue that. Both sources contain a video source. So even if the site isn't accepted, you know it really happened or was said. You need to explain yourself and not just say I'm tossing links in where they don't belong when there are supporting pre-existing context. The info is fine, but if you are determined to dispute it regardless, you need to provide proof it is not legit. I would appreciate handling this a mature and logical way as required of us on here. I seem to be the only one lately caring to do that but so be it. I'm not trying to be right or get my way, I'm helping the article and making it better. You need to show me specifically what isn't acceptable, remove it, leave the rest. Not "toss the baby out with the bath water". I know it's easier to just revert everything, but that is not the right thing to do. If the links should be put after sentences or paragraphs, then please move it should they be mid-sentence. I'm trying to figure out what your dispute is and resolve it. We are supposed to do so this way before reverting things back-and-forth. I've explained myself, I hope you do too because it's not clear. This isn't an attack, it's just a discussion to resolve the matter. I appreciate it kindly. Thank you and have a good day/night. 63.131.4.149 (talk) 02:29, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

I was not saying that there were any problems with the content of your edits, hence why I reverted assuming good faith. However, you need to use <ref>...</ref> tags for your sources. All you had done was insert external links into the article, which is not a particularly good way of sourcing your edits (see Wikipedia:MOS). Also, it apparently tripped XLinkBot's edit filter prior to my reversion. If you register an account, it has a toolbar where you can easily insert references automatically without going through the hassle of programming them. (It is under My Preferences --> Gadgets --> Check refTools checkbox.) As regards your multiple edits, I could not revert just one or two, as another editor had previously rollbacked you, then you undid his rollback, then I undid you. I would be happy to re-insert the content and the links as references if you would like. Reaper Eternal (talk) 12:29, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Hello. Yes, please undo your revert to replace the content (yours and I think another editor if applicable, although I think yours being undone will fix everything). I have always used [ ] and someone usually fixes them. I have never had anyone undo an entire edit, they just fix the references with < > instead (replace). I apologize I didn't input it correctly. I apologize if it seems I was lazy about it too. I was dealing with poor internet connection and multi-tasks so did it the quickest way. I wasn't sure why it was reverted but now I understand. I have had accounts created in the past, but I prefer transparent edits. I have nothing to hide and an IP should not mean my edits aren't credible or merely "good faith". I also don't want to hassle with remembering so many log-ins with other accounts I have. (smile) I do realize the auto-bot problems that sometime arise, but if you would undo it for me so you can fix the reference format (or I can when I figure all that out and have time), I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for understanding and fixing this. I think we should all do our best to resolve issues together first so our work isn't unproductive. Have a great day/evening! P.S. My bad. 63.131.4.149 (talk) 21:21, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

I should say I haven't had anyone that I know of undo an entire edit for the reference sequence being wrong. But it's ok, you were right in doing so if Wiki policy, it would have just been nice to have that fixed and the rest left alone but I read your explanation again and see why it occurs. So yeah, that would be awesome if you could fix it for me. My mistake, I will try to do better with that in the future. I had a "dingus" moment. (smile) 63.131.4.149 (talk) 21:29, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Your request for rollback

Hi Reaper Eternal. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Tiptoety talk 20:24, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Richard Ivey School of Business article

Hi - I noticed that you reverted content on the Ivey wikipedia article, and also noticed that you are very active as an editor - that's amazing!

I find wikipedia a bit confusing and wanted to know if my edits have been OK?

The description of your edit was "Reverted edits by 64.42.209.108 (talk) to last revision by Mcheater (HG))." Does that mean that there was a problem with my edit? It looks like you reverted something by 64.42.209.108, rather than by me, but I wanted to check and be sure.

Anyways, thank you again for being an active wikipedian!

Mcheater (talk) 03:55, 31 October 2010 (UTC) (web comms @ the richard ivey school of business)

Thank you! Your edits were perfectly fine, and my edit had nothing to do with yours (other than restoring it). The IP address was inserting garbage into the article. He added "The Quantum shift fellows met in Sasketchewan. See King Tim" to the article. I reverted those edits (it means I undid them), hence the summary "Reverted edits by 64.42.209.108 (talk)". since you had contibuted the last good edition of that article, your version got picked, hence the summary "to last revision by Mcheater". I used huggle to do it, hence the final bit of the summary "(HG)". Reaper Eternal (talk) 04:37, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
Awesome, thanks for catching that stuff that was being pushed in - you rock!

Mcheater (talk) 16:01, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Odd acceptance of unsourced edit

Can you explain why you accepted this unsourced edit to an article subject to WP:ARBMAC? It was quickly reverted and is exactly the kind of edit that the pending changes is supposed to prevent. Toddst1 (talk) 11:48, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

See here [2] (it is debatable whether the Bosnian language is even still in existence). Also see here [3] where it says, "Serbo-Croat  : Language spoke by Bosnians, Serbs, Croats" . Also see here [4], where it mentions that Bosnian, Serbian, and Croatian are "mutually intelligible". Finally, here [5] it states that the Štokavian dialect of Croatian is spoken by Croats, Serbs, and Bosnians. I hope this clears it up. Reaper Eternal (talk) 12:29, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
I was also unaware that this article was subject to arbitration. I have not been around here for that long. Reaper Eternal (talk) 12:39, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
Sorry about that, I just realized that "Bosnian" could refer to the Bosniak people or the inhabitants of Bosnia. Reaper Eternal (talk) 12:47, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
No worries. All topics relating to the Balkans make up one hell of a hornet's nest and editing has been problematic for years. We have to be super careful there. Toddst1 (talk) 13:42, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

HotCat

I notice on the edit history for Albi the Squirrel, you attempted to add Category:Animal deaths, which HotCat changed to Category:Animal deaths by year, and in your edit history you asked "Why does HotCat keep autocompleting??!?"

The reason HotCat would not let you add Category:Animal deaths is that that is not a valid category - all articles about animal deaths should be placed in the appropriate category for the year they occurred (e.g. Category:2009 animal deaths). Strictly speaking, it's not valid to put an article in Category:Animal deaths by year either, but HotCat isn't smart enough on its own to read an article and figure out what year it's meant to go in.

In general, if you try to add a category tag with HotCat and it won't let you add the tag you want, you should take that as a warning that you're trying to add the wrong tag, and try to figure out what tag you should be adding instead. —Paul A (talk) 08:37, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

OK, thanks for the information. Reaper Eternal (talk) 10:25, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Stub categories

Stub categories should never be added directly, as you did in this edit. You add a stub category by adding an appropriate stub tag, which also creates the stub notice at the bottom of the page - in this case {{US-journalist-stub}}.

Also, existence of stub categories and date categories does not justify removing the {{uncategorised}} tag - the article still needs to have one or more real subject categories. Thanks. PamD (talk) 14:01, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I was trying to help clean up the enormous backlog of uncategorized articles. Does Wikipedia have a guideline on how to insert appropriate categories? Reaper Eternal (talk) 16:55, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
I have been trying to get into a more constructive role on Wikipedia, rather than just being a vandal fighter. I am starting to focus on improving the references in Wikipedia. Is this a good thing to be doing? (For an example of what I am doing see Monte_Verde.) Reaper Eternal (talk) 23:44, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Wikipedia:WikiProject_Categories/uncategorized seems to have useful info on adding categories. For sorting stubs, see WP:WSS. PamD (talk) 23:57, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Newington College

My edit of the == History - Recent Events == section was meant to be constructive as it isn't really recent and seems to be an overly long description of a minor event in a short article on the 150 year history of Newington. You will notice that I left the more recent muck-up history even though it to seems largely irrelevent as well. Thank you for your interest inmy edit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.45.201.57 (talk) 02:17, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

That is why it is recommended that editors make detailed edit summaries when removing large quantities of content. When these summaries are provided, it makes the edit obvious that it is not vandalism so it won't get reverted. Reaper Eternal (talk) 02:21, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

You already yelled at warned me for this type of thing (see User talk:Reaper Eternal#Stub categories). There were several articles that I had wikified and added categories to before you warned me that my edits were not helping and directed me to the appropriate Wikipedia guideline page. I'm sorry, but I could not find every one of my edits that created stub categories or linked to disambiguation pages. Reaper Eternal (talk) 13:35, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
OK, sorry about that. But please don't accuse me of "yelling" at you! PamD (talk) 13:40, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
And, by the way, I don't think you're using the "Talkback" right: I think you're supposed just to add your userid, not a whole signature, so it comes out looking much neater - have a look at Template:Talkback. Cheers. PamD (talk) 13:46, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Could you?

Hi, you copyedited the article Life at the Bottom: The Worldview That Makes the Underclass, which is up for GA class review, yesterday. Since then, I have added a bit to the first paragraph of the Themes section and overall to the Critical Reception section. Would it be possible for you to just give another look through those two parts? 165.91.166.182 (talk) 23:55, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Sure, I will give it another copyedit. Reaper Eternal (talk) 23:57, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
I think the copyedit is done now. Reaper Eternal (talk) 01:29, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Just one other thing, if you have the time. The reviewer had expressed concern for the beginning of the sentence "He ended by saying that "Dalrymple’s case sounds like a paranoid tirade or perverse tribute, but it is at least partially redeemed by the barrage of breathtakingly horrible true-life (one assumes) stories that this very angry doctor tells—and he can tell a story—to bolster it."" in the Critical Reception section. It does seem to be a bit awkward sounding. Do you have an opinion on what it can be changed to so that it flows better? 165.91.173.45 (talk) 04:04, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Since it is a quotation, I cannot really copyedit it because that would make the author be saying something he actually did not. However, I will abbreviate the ending. Reaper Eternal (talk) 11:27, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
I found the issue. You began the sentence by saying: "He ended by saying that "Dalrymple's case sounds...."" However, that is the way you introduce an indirect quotation (where you paraphrase the author's words and do not use quotation marks), whereas you wanted a direct quotation (where you copy the author's words and use quotation marks). I changed it to the following: "He ended by saying, "Dalrymple's case sounds...."" I also changed the injected element to ellipsis points to make it read better. Copyedit

Thanks for checking over my copyedited articles :) I have one question, what exactly is the words section? I know I've done around 200, but I don't really understand how you figure it out. Is it simply the amount of words you've changed? Thanks! --Addihockey10e-mail 02:13, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Go to "My preferences", click on the "Appearance" tab, and click the "custom JS" for whatever skin you are using. Add the following line of code to it:
importScript('User:Dr_pda/prosesize.js'); //User:Dr_pda/prosesize.js
Restart your browser. Then, under the "Toolbox" link to the left, you will find a link called "Page size". Click this link before you start copyediting an article to count up its words. (If you forget, you can always access it by going to the newest revision before you began and clicking "Page size" with that open.) Add the words to your total and list it under your name when you finish copyediting. Good luck! Reaper Eternal (talk) 02:21, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for helping me :) Could you check over the other 2 articles I've copyedited? They're at the backlog drive page under my name. Thanks :-D --Addihockey10e-mail 21:05, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Protection

Hey! I just saw on your profile that you don't especially like vandalism, and it's good because I don't too! And I'm following a page in particular and there's vandalism often by anonymous or new people on wikipedia. I was just wondering if you know how to protect or semi-protect, or to have any kind of protection for a page. Thanks!!
Fabzzz (talk) 03:35, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, but I cannot protect a page because I am not an administrator. (Neither can you, by the way.) If you would show me what page it is that you want protected, I would be willing to file a request for page protection on your behalf if there is enough vandalism going on. Reaper Eternal (talk) 03:38, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
There is not a whole lot of vandalism, but it still is annoying to revert all the edits by anonymous people. The page is In Real Life, a TV show. The edits by anonymous people are sometimes right, but most of the time they are just plain vandalism. Thanks again for you help.
Fabzzz (talk) 03:44, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
There isn't really enough recent vandalism to warrant getting the page protected (my request would be declined anyway). If it gets worse or keeps on happening, you could ask me again and I will file the request. Good luck! Reaper Eternal (talk) 03:49, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Non-admins and RfAs

Non-admins are certainly able to take part in RfAs! The process is there to see if there is consensus from the community to grant adminship. Being an admin isn't about joining a private club where only member of the club can decide who joins - the community as a whole (or at least the ones who take part!) show if they trust the editor or not -- PhantomSteve.alt/talk\[alternate account of Phantomsteve] 22:28, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Yes, you did vandalize with this edit. Reaper Eternal (talk) 03:02, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi, You prodded this as non-notable, but in fact there's already an article at MV Paul R. Tregurtha, to which I've redirected it! PamD (talk) 13:49, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

The initial article (which I prodded) was unreferenced and full of original research (..."usually seen around the great lakes of Michigan."). That's fine that you redirected it; I did not know of the original article. Reaper Eternal (talk) 16:03, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

/* Nathyn Brendan Masters */

Significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject can be proven by the links and coverage on the web. The people seeking to delete it are ignoring the actual coverage from independent sources. They're calling whole articles trivial. Here's page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathyn_Brendan_Masters please help. They're also trying to delete pages I'm putting up for the Wikipedia comic project. Many are unfinished. But they're challenging pages about comic book characters. Seriously, I don't get it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rmavers (talkcontribs) 16:41, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

I tagged it for WP:CSD when it was looking like this [7]. It was then an unsourced BLP which thus did not indicate notability of the subject. You have since expanded and sourced the article, hence the removal of the CSD template. Thank you. Reaper Eternal (talk) 16:46, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to the Military History project

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive!

GOCE November 2010 backlog elimination drive progress graphs

We have reached the midway point in our backlog elimination drive, so here is an update.

Participation report — The November drive has 53 participants at this point. We had 77 participants in the September drive. In July, 95 people signed up for the drive, and in May we had 36. If you are not participating, it is not too late to join!

Progress report — The drive is quite successful so far, as we have already almost reached our target of a 10% reduction in the number of articles in the backlog. We are doing very well at keeping our Requests page clear, as those articles count double for word count for this drive.

Please keep in mind the possibility of removing other tags when you are finished with an article. If the article no longer needs {{cleanup}}, {{wikify}}, or other similar maintenance tags, please remove them, as this will make the tasks of other WikiProjects easier to complete. Thanks very much for participating in the Drive, and see you at the finish line!

I don't think it meets the technical criteria for speedy deletion but by all means go ahead and tag it anyway - an admin will decline the speedy if it doesn't meet the requirements and the prod will stand. Exxolon (talk) 19:07, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

bare assertion fallacy

"known informal fallacy". Excuse me? Known to whom?

If you do a Google search the only references you'll find are those that steal their data from Wikipedia. I couldn't find any other academic websites citing this as a genuine fallacy, and for good reason: you can't even give a cogent explanation of it. The explanation on the page is still just as flawed as before. Every single argument commits this fallacy on your view!

Can you find a single (genuine) reference in philosophy to support your opinion? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.231.217.26 (talk) 04:18, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Ok this is a waste of time. That book is a piece of junk, did you actually READ what it says about the fallacy? It twists the logical framework? Are there any standards for scholarship here? I fracking teach logic. That "college writer" pamphlet is NOT an authoritative source. The explanation it gives is ITSELF subject to the very fallacy it puts forward, since its premises (insofar as it has any) are given without support.

Let me ask you this. I have spent over a decade studying logic. I teach logic professionally. Now I don't care if you take my word for it or not. But is there any quality control on Wikipedia? You cite some pamphlet that wouldn't have any, ANY pull whatsoever in any professional philosophy department and somehow use that to overrule an edit. Clearly you are not thinking about the issue. You aren't considering the fallacy or what I've said about it, you're simply looking at the first book you can find. Anything printed counts as evidence here, it's ridiculous. So is there any way that quality control can be implemented or is that it then?

My first and last go here I suppose. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.231.217.26 (talk) 04:22, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Please don't leave Wikipedia just because we do not agree over Bare assertion fallacy. Editors do not always agree, and we solve our problems and find a consensus on the talk pages of the articles. Reaper Eternal (talk) 13:45, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Army Men copy edited

Hi!

I copy edited the Army Men article. As this is my first copy edit, I was wondering if you could take a look at it. I'd like to know if it's good enough to remove the copyedit tag, what my mistakes are, etc. (Edit: There are other issues with the page, I tried to improve the article outside the boundaries of copy-editing a bit where I could as well, but it's far from perfect.)

Thanks in advance,

Lehoo (talk) 11:09, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Nice job, it looks good to go! Feel free to remove the {{copyedit}} tag whenever you want. Oh, and be sure to add your word count (before the copyediting started) under your name in the drive! Reaper Eternal (talk) 13:46, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Hey

Hey

Just to inform you that I received a message about some sort of editing of pages though I have only just visited this site a minute ago. My internet provider (AOL), i have been informed, tends to switch IP addresses regularly with their users and i believe i may have just accessed the site through an IP address that has been previously used for vandalism of this site. I just wanted you to know that this IP address is what i have been informed and led to believe an IP address used by multiple users and not an individual which means such messages are inevitably going to cause confusion with users who have done no wrong.

Just thought I'd bring it to your attention. Sorry to bother —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.4.86.244 (talk) 02:01, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but there is nothing I or anybody else can do about it. If your IP got switched to one used to vandalize articles, then you might get warning messages about vandalism you didn't do. You can just ignore the warning messages. Reaper Eternal (talk) 02:11, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Worlebury Camp

Hi, Well done for your effort on Worlebury Camp it has really improved - hence my regrading it as C class. It would be great to get it up to GA. There are some actions which I think would help to move it towards this:

  • The lead should be expanded to summarise the whole article (see WP:LEAD) - in the lead Roman could also be wikilinked  Done
  • There are several sections which need references to support the claims eg: first part of para at Triangular stone platforms; almost all of Other findings - if the 2 refs at the beginning cover the other claims these need to be sorted to verify individual statements.  Done
  • Phrases such as "Unfortunately, a relatively recent planting of trees..." seem POV it is referenced but to a blog which is unlikely to pass Reliable Sources.  Done
  • The gallery pictures could be distributed between other paragraphs (with captions) as Galleries are not popular with GA reviewers.  Done

Hope these are helpful. I will keep it on my watchlist & may be able to come up with other aspects for improvement as you get it towards GA.— Rod talk 19:30, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

  • Also the bulleted list in "Other findings" should be turned into prose.— Rod talk 20:57, 28 October 2010 (UTC)  Done
  • Also in some cases the units are metric (imperial) others are imperial (metric).— Rod talk 21:05, 28 October 2010 (UTC)  Done

Some more queries

  • Can you indicate the era for explorations by Martin Atkins & Charles Dymond - who was Dymond & indicate any qualifications, as wp doesn't appear to have articles on them?
  • What is "Bead-rim pottery of the Glastonbury type" is this similar to artifacts found from the Glastonbury Lake Village?  Done
  • We are told the skulls are in N Somerset museum - where are the other artifacts now?— Rod talk 19:00, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Now I've found an official web resource stating it is a Scheduled Ancient Monument (although I've found 2 different reference numbers) can I suggest changing the infobox from UK place (which is very non specific) to Template:Infobox Historic Site which includes as designation as a SAM?— Rod talk 19:53, 29 October 2010 (UTC)  Done

Where does the figure of "over 100 pits" come from? This page from the local council says 90.— Rod talk 20:27, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
I think it may have come from the blog, which I removed from the references. I just looked it up in Dymond's book, and it says "They are 93 in number; 74 of them being in the larger division of the area, 1 in the transverse fosse, and 18 in the keep." I will fix it now. Page 65 FYI. Reaper Eternal (talk) 20:32, 29 October 2010 (UTC)  Done

GOCE Drive – Final push

Greetings GOCE Backlog elimination drive participant, We are now coming up to the last few days of the drive, the last for 2010. Currently, it looks like we will achieve our target for reducing the backlog by 10%, however, we still have huge numbers for 2009. We have 55 participants in this drive. If everyone just clears 2 articles each, we will reduce the backlog by a further 110 articles. If everyone can just do 3 articles, we will hit 165. If you have yet to work on any articles and have rollover words, remember that you do need to copyedit at least a couple of articles in this drive for your previous rollover to be valid for the next drive. There are many very small articles that will take less than 5-10 minutes to copyedit. Use CatScan to find them. Let's all concentrate our firepower on the first three months of 2009 as we approach the end of this final drive for the year. Thank you once again for participating, and see you at the finish line! – SMasters (talk) 04:04, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Do you want a reflist template in the Late Otoman military ranks template?

I added a {{reflist}} template here, but then I wondered if it might get transcluded across many articles, so I reverted myself. Does it need the template? Reaper Eternal (talk) 00:05, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

I wanted to show that link as sources in related articles (Mirliva, Ferik (rank) etc.). Do you have any good ideas ? Takabeg (talk) 15:18, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
I fixed it (you can see the code used in the template). Now the References section of the template can be seen with its references in the template without getting transcluded across the articles that use it. The references themselves are transcluded into the {{Reflist}}s of the articles that use it. Reaper Eternal (talk) 15:52, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

Copyedit request

Thanks Reaper for copyediting my article (Jessica Simpson discography). About the sentence you asked, please go ahead. It has been about one month since I nominated it for FL. Do you happen to know how much time does it require to pass? Novice7 Talk 13:16, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
