When User:Sideways713/Bill Bonthron gets moved to mainspace the Champions Day article should link to that as well.Naraht (talk) 14:08, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Was he from Detroit? I don't recall seeing the name before.
He is in the "Other honored at the party, third from the end".Naraht (talk) 14:48, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ah... one of names I don't know as much about. I read the story on him and couldn't find the Detroit connection. Rrbee (talk) 14:51, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I just quickly went through the other honored looking for them on Wikipedia. Found one in mainspace, and this one in userspace (Given that the article has been created to this size in the last 48 hours, I would expect it will move to mainspace soon.)Naraht (talk) 14:56, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

June 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Champions Day may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 14:44, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Champions Day[edit]

C is fairly good for an assessment, while going through articles I generally don't go over that. Main thing I would suggest is to write out the refs. Right now they are just URLs, use Template:cite web and Template:cite news to flesh them out and provide titles, publishers, etc. Wizardman 23:54, 30 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info. When you get a chance, can you look at the first 5 references? I think this is what you mean by writing out the refs.

Disambiguation link notification for March 11[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited History of the Detroit Lions, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page William Clay Ford (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File permission problem with File:City of Champions Day proclamation 2012.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:City of Champions Day proclamation 2012.jpg, which you've attributed to City of Detroit. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:19, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Kelly, can you help me understand where the issue is here. The contents of the image is a press release made by a city gov't in 1936. I understand that just because it's a city gov't release doesn't make it public domain necessarily, but I believe it would qualify under the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:PD-US-no_notice tag.
But the image itself (which is just a scan of a copy of the original "press release") was sent to me specifically for use on wikipedia. Is the image itself what's being called into question or the content of the image? If it's the image itself, would the individual who "owned" the copy of the PR and who scanned it for me be considered the owner? RedRamage (talk) 02:50, 23 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:City council proclaims champions day.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:City council proclaims champions day.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, BOT-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate your file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Roary (Detroit Lions) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.detroitlions.com/football-education/roary/about-roary and https://www.detroitlions.com/football-education/roary/programs. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I don't remember making that page... I imagine I probably did and it was probably quite a while page and I probably didn't do a very good job on it. In short, I don't really doubt that I used copyrighted material so it probably was the right move to delete the page. But man... it disappeared so fast that I had no chance to look at it and see what I did wrong or if it could be fixed/corrected. That's a bit of a bummer.
