Broken location map in[edit]

Hi Rehman, not sure if it is related to the changes you made, but it seems the location map is broken in the power station template. So you might want to take a look. I also raised it in the talk page Template_talk:Infobox_power_station#Broken_location_map. Vpab15 (talk) 23:10, 28 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi. I've responded there on 29th Aug. Just noticed this talkpage message. Cheers! Rehman 07:17, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Howdy! So after responding to your note about using wikidata on {{Infobox river}} I had a thought... Are you at all interested in joining the team working on the conversion of {{Chembox}}?? I don't have much experience with using wikidata. And by don't have much experience I mean "I've never done it... ever...". Would be great to get your insight! Feel free to {{ping}} me here or drop a note at Template_talk:Chembox#Convert_to_Infobox_(for_realz_this_time). Hope you are well! --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 18:08, 21 November 2018 (UTC)

Hey there Zackmann08. Infobox and wikidata works are some of my favourites, but these days I'm going through a bit of a tough time in RL (hence my drastically reduced activity). 2018 has not been good for me. So I don't want to commit now, without knowing for sure that I can definitely help. If situations change for me, I'd definitely join! Thanks for the invite though :) Rehman 02:42, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
Well my thoughts are with you my friend. I can certainly relate. 2018 has SUCKED. If you ever want to chat I'm on WP:DISCORD. If you feel like taking a look: {{Infobox chemical}} would love any feedback! --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 02:46, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
Thank you :) Rehman 03:31, 22 November 2018 (UTC)

Gateway Group Comment[edit]

As the article stands it currently fails WP:NCOMPANY, simply because there is no evidence of significant coverage in multiple independent, reliable secondary sources. If there are no secondary sources added then I will be putting it up for an AfD, on this basis. It should be noted that the school was determined as not being notable. Given both our long standing involvement on Sri Lankan articles I am happy to let the matter lie for a week however if there are reliable secondary sources provided I'll reconsider my position. Dan arndt (talk) 05:47, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi Dan arndt. Thank you for taking the time to post this. I have no issues with it going through an AFD if that is what you want to do (although I would still vk). AFDs are a good place to weight in the points to keep or not to keep anyway. Best wishes, Rehman 05:52, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Image for the Kamchatka superbolide[edit]

I noticed you added an image of the fireball's smoke trail to the Kamchatka superbolide. Are you sure it isn't copyrighted? in my experience many of these japanese governmental research images are copyrighted. And if it's not, what do you think of adding the entire video of the event? exoplanetaryscience (talk) 07:06, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

Hello exoplanetaryscience. I initially though it was copyrighted, until I saw this template and this category. And since the video you linked is actually made up of a series of pictures from the same source, I think it may be alright. Btw, even though that link ends with .mp4, it is actually a gif (as you can see after downloading). Cheers, Rehman 13:07, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
And speaking of videos, I was scouring through the Himawari8 full-globe video archives dating the bolide moment and almost threw my laptop with sheer excitement when I was saw a massive orange blob pop and disappear within a second, almost exactly at the same position of the bolide, very close to the actual time of atmospheric entry. I just want to warn you to not throw your laptop (because it's obviously not what we think it is). I'll not spoil the surprise just yet (in case you're going through it too)! ;) Rehman 13:19, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
Hahahaha, that's not what I expected at all! Well I suppose I should upload that gif, then. (I constructed it myself so I should hope I know what format it is!) exoplanetaryscience (talk) 18:12, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
Wow, it must have taken a lot of bandwidth and time to make that gif, considering how large the original frames are. I'm sure it would go viral as there is definitely no 'video' of the bolide as far as I checked. Happy editing! Rehman 01:17, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
Exoplanetaryscience: Btw, for licensing purposes, I think you must mention the individual frame ID's as well, since the gif itself is not by JMA. It is also best to state that the gif was made by you using those frames by JMA. Rehman 01:20, 21 March 2019 (UTC)

Arabian Wikipages[edit]

Hiya. Thanks for dropping by - I've felt that frustration quite keenly and TBH have taken a bit of a back seat for now after a couple of bruising bust-ups. Wikipedia doesn't work if you care too much, I find. But, yes, the Arab world in general could use quite a bit of TLC!!! Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 04:32, 20 March 2019 (UTC)

ArbCom 2019 special circular[edit]

Administrators must secure their accounts

The Arbitration Committee may require a new RfA if your account is compromised.

This message was sent to all administrators following a recent motion. Thank you for your attention. For the Arbitration Committee, Cameron11598 02:49, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

Administrator account security (Correction to Arbcom 2019 special circular)[edit]

ArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.

Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.

We are sorry for the wording of our previous message, which did not accurately convey this, and deeply regret the tone in which it was delivered.

For the Arbitration Committee, -Cameron11598 21:04, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

National drink draft page[edit]

You recently rejected the CSD for National drink. Can you comment at Draft talk:National drinks why you don't think that's ready to replace this redirect? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:09, 9 June 2019 (UTC)

Hello User:AngusWOOF. I see that you have declined the draft article, as of 16 May. Did I misunderstand your request? If you intend to approve it, and move it to mainspace, I can go ahead with the deletion. Let me know. Rehman 04:19, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
Rehman, yes, after further discussion, the newer draft is ready to go, so you can clear out the redirect. Thanks. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 06:00, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
Thanks, User:AngusWOOF. Redirect deleted. Rehman 06:06, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi, Roy. Last time we talked, you commented about you were in a worry in your RL. I hope you were OK now. I saw you're going to be at WikidataCon in Berlin. I'll so glad to meet you there. The Saturday, October 26th, I'll show in a panel our infoboxes solutions. I hope you may be at the presentation. I wish take advantage of this opportunity to share with you a few comments I have about the ontology of power plants. See you soon ! Amadalvarez (talk) 20:27, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi Amadalvarez. Yes, the situation is steadily improving for me now. Thank you for the kind message. :) It is great to know you'll be there too, and I certainly look forward to meeting you! Rehman 02:48, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
I received your thank to my change in Pawan Danavi Wind Farm (Q19573638). See, the effect in cawiki infobox. See you, Amadalvarez (talk) 10:19, 13 October 2019 (UTC)

Category:Pages using infobox power station with default status[edit]

not sure why you deleted it when it's not empty. Frietjes (talk) 18:00, 31 October 2019 (UTC)

nevermind, just had to null edit about 50 articles. Frietjes (talk) 18:04, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
Hi. The code was removed from the template, hence whatever was there was due to caching. It would have eventually cleared automatically. Cheers, Rehman 18:06, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
