Wiki pages

[edit]

I have recently made wikipedia pages for the members of The Wanted, i hope you enjoy reading them, i haven't wrote much yet just the basic info but anyway its just all you need to know for the moment.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Teddy Duncan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Peridon (talk) 21:37, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Tom Parker.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. (ESkog)(Talk) 14:27, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Jay Mcguiness.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jay Mcguiness.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:05, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You cannot post lyrics of current songs to Wikipedia, as you did at Im Still Good (song). Doing so is a copyright violation. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:33, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tawni Hart requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Take a break

[edit]

You have been getting off to a bad start here at Wikipedia. Please take a break and read some of the guidelines before you continue. You seem to be having special problems with

  1. Uploading stock publicity photos of various celebrities and claiming them as your own work. It is not your own work if you did not actually hold the camera to take the photograph. Downloading the photo from a website does not constitute "your own work".
  2. Creating "character" biographies. Very few individual television show characters deserve their own individual Wikipedia articles. Only major characters from major shows whose character-biographies have been the subject of independent writings deserve a Wikipedia article. In particular, the article you created about Chad Cooper was virtually indistinguishable from a real-life biography. I can't even begin to guess where you might have found a filmography for this character.
  3. Creating unsourced articles. All information in Wikipedia must be verifiable. This means that the information can't just come from your own head, but must have appeared in a reliable source.

Once you have become more familiar with the guidelines, I hope you can find some interesting material to add to the project. Good luck! WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:49, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're being discussed at the Administrators' Notice board for Incidents

[edit]

Hello. The thread is User needs to take a break. Thank you. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:46, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked 72 hours for repeated copyright violations. (blocked by –MuZemike 20:56, 20 October 2010 (UTC))[reply]
You may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but please read our guide to appealing blocks first.

It is clear that you are uploading images that are ripped from various other sources and claiming them as your own works. That is violating the rights of those to who took those pictures, not to mention you were warned numerous times not to upload images that violate others' copyrights. Wikipedia is a free content encyclopedia, which means we only accept images that are licensed under the Creative Commons ShareAlike license (with the exception of images in the mainspace on a very limited basis on fair-use grounds as outlined here). This is why I have blocked you from editing. –MuZemike 20:56, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Selena Gomez.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

Orphaned non-free image File:Harper Finkle.jpeg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Harper Finkle.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 03:34, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
