Disputed fair use rationale for Image:The mission movie still Sao Miguel das Missoes.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:The mission movie still Sao Miguel das Missoes.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:42, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Marcopolo logo.gif[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Marcopolo logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 16:31, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Christ heals leper the testaments film lds.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Christ heals leper the testaments film lds.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --23:08, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:The mission iguassu falls.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:The mission iguassu falls.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Fair use rationale for File:Correio do Povo (Porto Alegre) 4,28,06.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Correio do Povo (Porto Alegre) 4,28,06.jpg. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Verifiability[edit]

Hello Ricardo. Today I patrolled Pala Velho, a new article you created on 30 July. I noticed the article was completely unreferenced. On Wikipedia, any information that is challenged, or likely to be challenged, must be attributed to a reliable, published source. Please do not create new articles and leave them without in-line citations to show the source of your information. Verifying commercial use guidelines of File:Colorado City, AZ.jpg[edit]

Dear Ricardo,

I'm writing in regard to the usage guidelines of File:Colorado City, AZ.jpg I ask only because of the unclear guidelines I have read in the licenses displayed. It is my intention to use this image with altered color, contrast and brightness. Fundamentally, the photo remains intact for its use as an EP cover of a new heavy metal project in Brisbane, Australia

One of the guidelines states that bypassing the system and going straight to the author invalidates the license use (but doesn't break any laws or use guidelines with anyone or anything else) based on an agreement reached with said author, hence my inquiry. If you wish to speak off of Wikipedia regarding this matter, I can be contacted via e-mail at ross.chessher@gmail.com alternatively, I can be reached via the user signature listed below.

I look forward to hearing from you soon, Thank you in advance

Hello, My name is Duane Hurst and I recently made a free (non-commercial) English web site to share information with people. I added links to your Wikipedia/Wikimedia freeware picture. I also gave credit to you on my web pages for your work. Thank you for sharing with the public. My website is:

http://www.freeenglishsite.com/

I add pictures such as yours to one of the following major sections of my site: 1. World section - contains information and over 10,000 images of every world country and territory. Link at: http://www.freeenglishsite.com/world/index.htm

2. USA section - contains information and images of every USA state and territory. Link at: http://www.freeenglishsite.com/world/usa/index.htm

3. English section - "Mel and Wes" lessons in conversation format. Stories are located in various USA states and world countries such as China, England, Germany, Japan, Mexico and Thailand. Each lesson has many slang terms and idioms, which I link to my Slang Dictionary. This eventually will have over 5,000 terms. Currently, it has about 3,000 slang and idioms. I regularly add new lessons and slang terms. Prior to retirement, I taught English at several private and public universities in the United States.

Please share this free site with your friends. I hope all will enjoy the pictures and find the English information useful. Sincerely,  Duane Hurst in Utah, USA

Miscellany for deletion/TimedText:Gaucho eu sou.ogg.en.srt You wrote:

I couldn't find proper instructions on how to add timed text / subtitles to a piece of music. You are correct. This page should be deleted. Could you kindly send my way instructions on how to add Closed-Captions to songs. I think this would be helpful for certain readers especially when they are listening to music that is in a language foreign to their own.

We do need documentation for this... If you'd like to make TimedText, it's not complicated (although it is confusing if you don't know what is happening.) Go ahead and write to my talk when you're free and I'll show you how to do it. —Justin (koavf)TCM 19:05, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

For example Newport Beach: Newport_Beach#Notable_natives_and.2For_residents has a few truly notable people and as you can see it is in proper Alphabetical order. Please take a moment and place the list in proper Alphabetical order or I will revert your edit if you like. Cheers! (talk)--WPPilot 16:55, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The file File:Caxias do Sul map.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned map.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~ Rob13Talk 13:54, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:11, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
