Cutting-and-pasting content[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, and under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribute Share-Alike."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the "Help Desk". You can also leave a message on my talk page.

Last warning for copyright violations[edit]

Changing a few words here and there doesn't fix it [1]. Also, see WP:NOT; Wikipedia is not an instruction guide or safety manual. A small (non-copyrighted) section about lint and drier safety is fine, providing you don't plug a product. OhNoitsJamie Talk 19:14, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am new to providing content to Wiki, and it is pretty neat how it all works. I appreciate your comments. I am the full and complete author of my work. Yes, some of the content on my lintalert page that I authored helped me get the point across clearer than my first ad hoc version. From your comments, it appears you are somewhat ok with the final version, but reminding me clearly that verbage should be "what comes out of your brain at the time of submittal, and not what you wrote 4 weeks ago". And that is a ok by me. I'll abide.

I also understand that suggesting a tool that might help someone prevent a terrible event is not allowed if its in the form of a link to that site. I would assume one could suggest said tool if it didn't include the trademarked name, and link. is that correct?

As my edits stand now, are there items I need to tweak. They read fine to me, but I am not as knowledgable as you. Your opinion would mean a lot. Thanks and keep up the good work. Your efforts are commendable. God Bless

Links to commercial products[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:24, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

October 2009[edit]

Please do not add content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Clothes dryer. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you.  Frank  |  talk  20:47, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
