July Deletion[edit]

Hi. Back in July you deleted the article for the Illinois College Republican Federation. I have requested an undelete and would be grateful if you would take a look at my comments on the review page and reconsider the deletion.

Thanks, 05:32, 31 October 2006 (UTC) Rick Veenstra,

My RfA and your vote[edit]

Symbol opinion vote.svg
Hi Roy,
Thanks for participating in my RFA! Ultimately, no consensus was reached, but I still appreciate the fact that you showed up to add in your two cents. Thanks for giving me your support even though I didn't quite make the cutoff. You can feel free to talk to me about it or add some advice on my improvement page.

Sincerely, The ikiroid (talk·desk·Advise me)

Orkney Antiquarian Society[edit]

Why on earth have you deleted the article on the Orkney Antiquarian Society? Can you please undelete it? Mallimak 07:54, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

My RfA[edit]

Thankyou for your participation in my RfA. Due to an almost even spread of votes between Oppose and Support (Final (16/13/6)) I have decided to withdraw for now and re-apply in a couple of months as suggested. I thank everyone for their kind support of my editorial skills; it meant a lot to me to get such strong recommendations from my fellow editors. If you ever have any hints as to how I can improve further, I would love to hear from you. ViridaeTalk 15:24, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Curious: rm bio-stub from Datta Raghunath Kavthekar[edit]

Hi, I am just curious to understand why bio-stub was removed from the page. Thanks. It was inserted with an intention to let editors know that the bio needs to be expanded further. Raanoo 03:20, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Category:People stubs is sort of a general category and pages in the category should be sorted into different stub types, which it already was. Roy A.A. 05:04, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

You just speedily deleted the HVPB with the statement that it is a non-notable game. Unfortunately in the case of games this isn't a criteria for speedy delition. Hence, out of process and the page needs to be reinstates (possibly adding a prod to it). -- Koffieyahoo 05:25, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Considering your argument, I've prodded it rather than speedying. Roy A.A. 20:59, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
    • Thanks. Wanna bet that you'll be deleting it again in five days ;-) -- Koffieyahoo 00:59, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I see from his talk page that you once blocked

Might you do it again? He's up to his old tricks and further, it seems that all his edits have been disruptive vandalism. If you are unable to do this, please let me know. And thank you for your time. -Brian1979 (talk · contribs)

Bard Of Ely[edit]

Hi there, I just noticed that the page for Bard Of Ely was removed from Wikipedia. 1 I feel that there should have been some sort of tag attached to the page before removal. I also am mystified by the reference of the dismissal of the the page due to your comment,(promotion written by a friend). I have found that indeed Bard Of Ely is a noteable artist, and should have remained in the Wikipedia listings. For instance, did you know, Bard Of Ely has an EP out on a proper label(Crai Records), and he worked with musicians such as Crum(ex-Hawkwind2, Phil Moxham (Young Marble Giants), Robin Williamson(Incredible String Band) and Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals)and having compered and played at Glastonbury Festival 3 and the Green Man Festival 4 as well as having been rave reviewed in the NME 5. I suppose it's up to the wandering editors to make these decisions. But, how do you determine a friend wrote the info on Bards page ??? For instance, I do not know Bard Of Ely personally, and could be considered a professional associate of Bard. Does this mean I can write a page about Bard Of Ely and it won't be removed ???? Please clarify the standards by which you elected to remove Bards page other than it may have been written by a friend. ie; For instance, the content was not verified and credible. Also, please indicate what makes an article not to the standard of Wikipedia, when in fact the references made in the article are internal links that have a direct relavence to the encyclopedia itself. I'm not trying to cause a stir here, but, I find it strange that Bards page was ripped down, when in fact I have found a few other artists pages that have been left up, and do not contain the same concrete documentation as Bard Of Ely's did. If you would like me to point those out to you, all you have to do is ask !!!! Take care, and please understand, that I am trying to understand some of the standards you work under for deciding to remove pages of Wikipedia noteable musical artists. Thank you, be well, and please accept my questions with all seriousness.

Kathy Fountain[edit]

Why did you speedy the article Kathy Fountain without any discussion? I think that was completely inappropriate, and apparently you don't know the past consensus about articles of this type. I will request that this be undeleted. Thank you. --CFIF (talk to me) 20:26, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Abstract Tonality[edit]

Please undelete Abstract Tonality and add to it the reference which explains it a bit better. Someone tagged it as nonsense when it fact it is jargon. Thanks. TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 00:36, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Orkney Antiquarian Society[edit]

Could you please undelete Orkney Antiquarian Society? I think that it's a notable learned society, albeit a defunct one. Many thanks. TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 03:50, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Where did edPod go...?[edit]

Hi Roy,

Could you inform me as to why you 'speedily deleted' (and then protected, so I can't re-create) the wiki page for edPod? Was it too short or something? If so, over the past few days I have been working on a more in-depth version. Or perhaps the problem was with copyright of some sort? If that's the case, I can't see why, as I'm both the owner and creator of the wiki page and edPod itself.

Sorry if there has been some misunderstanding, and I look forward to your reply.

Stub template coding[edit]

I noticed that in the legendary-creature-stub you removed the </td><tr></table> from it. I realize that you likely did so to shorten the coding, but please don't do that again. It causes problems when HTML does not include end tags in the Wiki. In this case, it causes stubs to appear out of order on those articles that have more than one stub template attached. The code is thus there for a reason in the stub templates and should not be removed. Caerwine Caerwhine 00:40, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

  • I don't recall doing that, but thanks for informing me. Roy A.A. 00:43, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Checking up on an old Vandal[edit]

I occasionally go through and check up on old vandals and problem users I encountered. I thought this might warrant a mention, since you were involved in the original blocking I'm mentioning it to you first. It involved this user (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · edit filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log). I've discovered through his edits he's created several accounts, Aristotle, laughing (talk · contribs), Newbie, learning (talk · contribs) and User06201 (talk · contribs). If you recall this user left long rambling uncivil and attack messages on several user pages. Given his history, I thought a record of the multiple accounts should be brought to someone's attention--Crossmr 21:24, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Knoxs Korner[edit]

I can't find who originally deleted Knoxs Korner, but I know you deleted the "previously deleted material." I was wondering if I could start a Robert Benfer (creator of Knoxs Korner, musician, and film maker) page. I created the Jason Steele page (Jason is a frequent collaborater (sp?) with Robert) and I have a lot of information prepared (from his radio show and IMDb) and will e-mail him for more information if needed (as I have done with Jason). Please allow me to create this article, seeing as (if Robert gets his way) Villain is going to be released into theaters and he'll become a very important film maker. Thank you for your time. 01:10, 8 October 2006 (UTC) The Hero of Time

Just searched again and there is an incredibly short Robert page. Sorry about that. Now I'm just curious that, if I were to extend it, would it be allowed to stay on wiki? 01:13, 8 October 2006 (UTC) The Hero of Time

Proposed deletion of Xie Qiuping[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Xie Qiuping, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Save Bruce Simpson[edit]

Wikipedia article Bruce Simpson has been nominated for deletion by Tercero. Maybe Bruce has some funny views sometimes and rubs some folk up the wrong way, but his achievements are significant and he is certainly suficiently notable for an article in wikipedia. Since you have edited this article, you might care to post a comment in support of retaining it here. Thanks --Pakaraki (talk) 07:16, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Shake It Records[edit]

I noticed you deleted a page for Shake It Records in the past (2006) and I was hoping to restart the page on my own. I understand that it was because it was simply advertising for the store/record company. The company is a legitimate store with real influence in the Cincinnati music scene. I will be editing the page for a while on my own and then put it up onto Wikipedia. Please let me know if you have any concerns about the page before I put it up.

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity[edit]

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. RL0919 (talk) 22:17, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Notice of change[edit]

Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that you will not longer be able to request restoration of the tools because of your prior inactivity. You have until December 30, 2012 to request restoration or else the policy will prevent you from doing so in the future; you would need to seek a new WP:RFA. Until December 30, you can file a request at WP:BN for review by the crats. Thank you. MBisanz talk 04:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
