Adding incorrect content to film list[edit]

The film Die Konsequenz was removed on 10 May 2021 from the List of feature films with LGBT characters because it is a made-for-TV movie and as such belongs in the List of made-for-television films with LGBT characters. I moved it to that list's talk page. You then re-added the film to the list, and I removed it again. Please do not add made-for-TV movies to the feature films list.
Since you created your account on 8 May 2021 and your first edit was to a film article on 9 May, which was reversed by another editor because you can't add a cast name to film articles just because other actors are also in the film and/or well known, I think it is important that you read Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines and Wikipedia:List of policies and guidelines. When it comes to editing or creating film articles you need to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Film (aka MOS:FILM). For television articles it's Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Television (aka MOS:TV). If you're going to edit lists, you should read Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lists (aka MOS:LIST).
You will find that the more you follow Wikipedia standards, the less you'll have your edits reversed or encounter other problems regarding them. Pyxis Solitary (yak). L not Q. 09:21, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

May 2021[edit]

I noticed that you recently made some edits to List of dramatic television series with LGBT characters: 2020s in which your edit summary did not appear to describe the change you made. You were not fixing mistakes, you were creating them. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If you just want to experiment or make test edits, please use your sandbox.

Please also see WP:REDLINKS - It is useful while editing articles to add a red link to indicate that a page will be created soon or that an article should be created for the topic because the subject is notable and verifiable. In general, a red link should remain in an article if it links to a title that could plausibly sustain an article. Only remove red links if Wikipedia should not have an article on the subject. Red links help Wikipedia grow. Thanks. Isaidnoway (talk) 16:51, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for November 11[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of LGBT-related films of 2010, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mark Webber. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:01, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for reminding me about the disambiguation link. I've already fixed it. I'll remember to check more carefully. Runningman2027 (talk) 09:10, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Thanks for re-adding Jess and Ally[edit]

I was meaning to re-add them to that page, as they did show up in a second episode and will likely show up in later episodes, but I never got around to it after removing them, but only removing them because I felt their addition, at that time, was premature because they had only shown up in one episode. I know the whole fact that characters have to be recurring to be on the page might seem arbitrary but it was one of the compromises I agreed to do in order to preserve the page.Historyday01 (talk) 14:45, 11 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop making test edits to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism, which, under Wikipedia policy, can lead to being blocked from editing. If you would like to experiment again, please use your sandbox. Ribbet32 (talk) 05:56, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
"PS Please" is not a valid reason. You keep attempting to weaken a good article by violating WP:CASTLIST - "A basic cast list in a "Cast" section is appropriate for the majority of Stub-class articles. When the article is in an advanced stage of development, information about the cast can be presented in other ways." I fear your constant attacks on this article will be construed as an edit war and will result in the article's loss of good article status. Ribbet32 (talk) 06:00, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! First, I want to thank you for your contributions to the list and how diligent you are about adding new rows with the correct table formatting. Second, per WP:LISTVERIFY, a stand-alone list is subject to the WP:VERIFY policy, which requires citing reliable sources. Without sources to support the inclusion of a film, another editor can at any given time delete any films that are not confirmed with sources. Therefore, when you add a film to the list, please try to include at least one source so that it complies with Wikipedia's policy and isn't left open to removal in the future. Thanks. List of feature films with lesbian characters[edit]

Re this addition to list. Your contributions to the list are appreciated, don't get me wrong. But you must check that sources verify the sexual orientation of characters, or else the film cannot remain in the list. I moved the film to the talk page until sources that describe the characters as being lesbian (or "gay", or "homosexual") are found. Even a source that says they are in a romantic relationship might be acceptable (but then again, bisexual females can be in a romantic relationship with each other). Pyxis Solitary (yak). Please stop making mass-edits to the table all at once. The table is being screwed-up because of it. The edits on July 14 and 15 are a nightmare. Editors cannot go line by line to see each mistake that happened. And why aren't you checking your edits in the [Show changes] screen before publishing them? It's better to leave something alone than to screw it up as just happened. So please, I know you want to work on these film tables but you're not going about it the right way. Pyxis Solitary (yak yak). Ol' homo. 09:12, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm so sorry about that happened🙏, I planned on doing mass edit to reduce the edit numbers, but the wifi keeps disconnecting. To preserve the work, I need to copy it the whole page to prevent content loss. I tried to check it up to prevent errors when I'm less busy. I promise to edit bit by bit from now on. Runningman2027 (talk) 10:44, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Mobile wifi is not as stable as an ethernet connection and as happened this time, using mobile wifi was like throwing a bomb. The best way to edit a long table is to work on a few rows at a time. Also, wherever you're copy/pasting the descriptions from, please check the spelling, punctuation, and grammar before publishing the edits. I know it's time consuming, but it's better to do it correctly from the get-go. Pyxis Solitary (yak yak). Ol' homo. 11:04, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I had to edit one of your contributions to the list again because the source you used did not confirm that the character names you added to the list are specifically identified as lesbian. I don't know why you did not notice that Variety only says "lesbian couple" more than once, but does not include the names of the characters. Can you please be more careful with the sources you select. They need to explicitly state the characters that are lesbian. A source that's vague and uncertain is useless. Please read what the sources actually contain in them. Thanks. Pyxis Solitary (yak yak). Ol' homo. 12:00, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's my deepest apologies that I haven't read carefully about the references before adding it. I often find it hard to find good references for the information. I've tried to use more well-known sources to increase authoritative, but they are always being indirect about the sexualities of the characters. Would you mind giving me suggestions to improve my referencing so I can prevent future potential mistakes? Runningman2027 (talk) 10:48, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
When I need sources for a film that includes a lesbian character, I search the "film name"+lesbian. When the results show the word lesbian, I scan the text of the source for the word lesbian and look for the character associated with it. If I know for sure that a film includes a lesbian but it's not coming up in the search results, I redo the search using the word gay instead of lesbian. There are many films, particularly from many years ago and those that are foreign, that have not been written about by well-known film sources like The New York Times, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, The Guardian, Film Comment, Sight and Sound, Bright Lights Film Journal, etc. In these cases we use whatever legitimate sources there are for them. Sometimes a book is the only source available. As you can see with my edit of All Shall Be Well, I found that the IndieWire review included the lesbian identification and the names of the lesbian characters. Digging for information can be time consuming ... I know this all too well. Pyxis Solitary (yak yak). Ol' homo. 18:35, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding films when you don't have acceptable sources for them. Sources must identify the character(s) as lesbian (or gay or homosexual). Adding {{better source needed}} template is not helpful. WP:BURDEN > "The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution." If you have a film to add, then you need to also have the acceptable sources for it. Pyxis Solitary (yak yak). Ol' homo. 12:06, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
