Kaga edits[edit]

I've reverted your last edit to the Kaga article, mostly for problems with the WP:Manual of Style and awkward language in addition to use of hyperbole. You need to tell the reader what kind of a ship Arashi was, tell the reader who Dick Best and McClusky were (and link to them on first use!) and stop putting spaces in between punctuation and cites. And 28 aircraft is hardly a "massive aerial assault". Pilots don't have wing mates, they have wingmen, a term that requires a link.

You may not be aware that this is a featured article, which requires the highest standard of writing and strict adherence to the Manual of Style, which is why I'm being kind of rough on you right now. I do think that what you're trying to add is mostly worthwhile, but it requires some editing which I want you to learn to do rather than doing it myself, so make the fixes that I listed above and add them back into the article and then we'll discuss the rest of the issues that need to be addressed.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 19:34, 19 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Got it man I will take care of all these tonight when I get done with work around midnight CT I'm 100% open to any advice and critique so I can make valuable contributions SLR107FR31 (talk) 20:11, 19 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into List of US Navy ships sunk or damaged in action during World War II. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 16:39, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Punctuation / style issues[edit]

Hello, I'm in the middle of doing quite a bit of cleanup on your recent additions to List of US Navy ships sunk or damaged in action during World War II. Before you add anything else, please brush up on the Manual of Style. In particular, please note that ship names go in italics, not quote marks, and months generally need to be spelled out. Thanks, Jessicapierce (talk) 22:22, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Again, ship names need to be in italics, please. Jessicapierce (talk) 04:09, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the following is unclear, as it is not a complete sentence. Can you clarify, please?
"At 09:15, the enemy destroyers, which were kept at bay by the daring and almost single-handed exploits of USS Johnston. Jessicapierce (talk) 04:15, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

January 2021[edit]

Hello, I'm Muboshgu. Your recent edit to the page Nolan Arenado appears to have added premature information about a reported sports transaction, so it has been removed for now. The transaction is based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. If you believe the transaction has been completed, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:18, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
