deprod[edit]

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Dharmakkan Dhanaraj, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! 2602:30A:2EFE:F050:884:A54E:F6D5:C2AF (talk) 21:39, 5 November 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Bids for the 2018 Gay Games[edit]

Hello SecretName101,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Bids for the 2018 Gay Games for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, [[{{{article}}}]].

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. JamesG5 (talk) 10:08, 14 November 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Bids for the 2018 Gay Games[edit]

A tag has been placed on Bids for the 2018 Gay Games requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Help decide the future of Wikimania[edit]

Wikimania logo with text.svg

The Wikimedia Foundation is currently running a consultation on the value and planning process of Wikimania, and is open until 18 January 2016. The goals are to (1) build a shared understanding of the value of Wikimania to help guide conference planning and evaluation, and (2) gather broad community input on what new form(s) Wikimania could take (starting in 2018).

After reviewing the consultation, we'd like to hear your feedback on on this survey.

In addition, feel free to share any personal experiences you have had at at a Wikimedia movement conference, including Wikimania. We plan to compile and share back outcomes from this consultation in February.

With thanks,

I JethroBT (WMF) (talk), from Community Resources 21:32, 13 January 2016 (UTC)

Polling data at Gary Johnson presidential campaign, 2016[edit]

I've removed the general election polling data from this article, as it is inappropriate for it to be here. It's redundant to Nationwide opinion polling for the United States presidential election, 2016, which is where the information should be. Compare against Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, 2016 and Donald Trump presidential campaign, 2016 which do not have such enormous polling data sections. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 20:00, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

‎Aggregate polls[edit]

Your idea isn't a bad one, if you want I could even help you out with a separate article. As for the other polls though we already had past discussions on those involving Ballotpedia, and the Morning Consult. I just wish you had taken a look at those before doing all the work of re-adding the polls. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 14:35, 1 August 2016 (UTC)

I noticed after they had been removed that their was a prior conversation. Would the separate article be for the older polls? What do you think the cut-off date should be for it?SecretName101 (talk) 20:05, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from United States presidential election, 1996 into United States third party and independent presidential candidates, 1996. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 21:36, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

New deal for page patrollers[edit]

Hi SecretName101,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Information icon Hello, I'm Ilabsboy. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit seemed less than neutral to me, so it has been removed it for now. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.

Replaceable fair use File:Lester Crown 01.jpg[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

Thanks for uploading File:Lester Crown 01.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 23:05, 8 June 2017 (UTC)

President LBJ on Ferdinand Magellan Railcar in 1964 (?)[edit]

Hello. If you wish, see if you have any comment to add to the discussion here: Talk:Ferdinand_Magellan_(railcar)#In_use_in_1964.3F. It involves a category you added to an image on Commons, which seems reasonable to me, yet also seems to contradict the (possibly incomplete or inaccurate) information in the article. Kasperi Kapanen[edit]

Hello,

Thank you so much for your NHL additions. I am just wondering where you got this picture of Kapanen [1]. I don't believe it looks like him, as well the picture reads " Maple Leafs 2017 Playoffs" but I am unsure why he is wearing green during the playoffs. I was wondering if would mind clarifying. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 05:34, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

@HickoryOughtShirt?4, I had been going off of the originally-announced AHL All-Star roster, which included Kapenen (who ultimately did not participate). I had identified every other player on his conference's roster, except him. Thus, I assumed that the image must have been him (albeit, maybe from a bizarre angle). It turned out that when I found a more-updated roster, I learned that the subject of the image was Andreas Johnsson.SecretName101 (talk) 04:26, 22 February 2018 (UTC)

Legacy Tower[edit]

Other than photo captions, I don't see the evidence that the Chicago building ever had that name.

I changed the redirect page to disambiguation since this week I discovered there were three of them. After one of them just changed its name. Strange that I don't recall the other one having that name.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 21:57, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
