Hello Seldon

I thought that I would pop you a quick message. You seem to be a good and active wikipedian. Currently there is an article that I have been working on that is in the process of being deleted.

I don't really think that the reasons are all that valid however I am new to this and I didn't realise that Wikipedia was getting so dogmatic. If you have a moment could you have a look and see if the issues that have been raised are valid and either way maybe leave a comment or two. Just get a second opinion? I have no idea how you stop it from being deleted ether.

License tagging for Image:1984vor.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:1984vor.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:04, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2007-02-07 Revival Centres International

Hi, I've opened your mediation case. I hope you will find me an acceptable mediator. I will tell you straight out that I know absolutely nothing about Revival Centres International, until I read you request and the article I did not know they existed.

As I see it the first step is to prevent the anonymous users from deleting material from the page so that they discuss their grievances on the talkpage instead. Until then we won't know if they have legitimate complaints that require changes to be made to the article. To that end, I will request semi-protection of the article, which will prevent anonymous editors from changing it. Hopefully a fruitful discussion will then arise on the talkpage. WjBscribe 02:38, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

The semi-protection of the page seems to indicate that those who were deleting content from the page don't in fact have much to bring to discussions about the page's content, I think thta can be treated as simple vandalism should it resume once the protection is lifted. Discussions on the talkpage between other users seem to be going alright. Do you still require mediation in this matter? WjBscribe 12:55, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Christian Assemblies International[edit]

An editor has nominated Christian Assemblies International, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Christian Assemblies International and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Orphaned non-free image (Image:1984vor.jpg)[edit]

Nuvola apps important blue.svg Thanks for uploading Image:1984vor.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:34, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

arguably AD weasel words[edit]

Hear, hear, well done! That description was once literally true but ceased to be applicable about 17 years ago, when members' participatory powers started to be stripped by a federal party machine, imho. Cheers --Bjenks 06:20, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Family First[edit]

Hi. If you're a Family First member, note that I've suggested at Talk:Family First Party#How can we break the edit war that FF and Greens members refrain from editing the article. (If I've guessed wrong, then sorry). Peter Ballard 06:53, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Survive82.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Survive82.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:24, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Steve Fielding[edit]

I am not a bot. The image used advises that the image has been released in to the public domain, yet there is no source link for the image, nor is there any information advising that it has been released in to the public domain. Timeshift 18:08, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Reynella railway station, Adelaide[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

A tag has been placed on Reynella railway station, Adelaide, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:15, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Actually, might I direct you to WP:MOS? These articles almost appear to be incomplete fragments of a larger, extant article. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:21, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Ah, I see what you're doing; sorry to trouble you. Thanks for not chewing me out for my error. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:23, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Lloyd Longfield Prophesy Image[edit]

I'm very interested in seeing the File:1984vor.jpg image of Lloyd Longfield's 1984 prophesy that has been deleted under a "copyright" clause. Possible to upload on an image server?

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
