National map[edit]
Hello! I have to admit that I have forgotten what the National Map article said and why I deleted it. It's possible (he admitted sheepishly) that I ran into it after a lengthy bout of deleting vandalism and other really awful stuff, and was so frazzled from the process that instead of examining it well I just said "this is too long and hard to understand" and killed it. If you think it was a good article, or at least had the makings of being turned into a good article, why not get your student to re-create it and send me a note, and we can look at it in less-frazzled mode! (Also, explain to your class that if indeed I screwed up, that's one of the drawbacks to a community project!) - DavidWBrooks 15:23, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)

The article North American Cartographic Information Society has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:ORG, lacks notability. A search for sources yielded drive-by mentions with no in-depth, significant coverage from reliable sources. In the 16 years since its inception, this article has slowly turned into WP:ARTSPAM.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
