Hello

Shewasafairy, I hope that you're well again! I once again hope that you will reconsider your rejection of the Salwa Jarrah page. The biographical information is accurate the sources listed are all reliable, and I have now updated the article to address your concerns. Salwa Jarrah was an extremely prominent voice in BBC radio in the Middle East. Especially in Iraq and also Lebanon, she was almost universally recognized. I believe that there is a need for this Wikipedia page! Syrianpoet94 (talk) 06:06, 17 March 2024 (UTC)

hello @Syrianpoet94, next time please use the "Add topic" button to add to my talk page. the first and fourth source is self published WP:PRIMARY, the second and third source only mentions Salwa Jarrah one time WP:SIGNIFICANT. at the moment it does not pass notability requirements. She was afairy 09:25, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
I would add that the biographical information in the translation published in Taylor and Francis doesn't appear to be self published. The other sources, all reliable, were not self published. Syrianpoet94 (talk) 09:25, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
the published work is titled "Excerpt translated from Insomnia" by Salwa Jarrah. She was afairy 09:27, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
Yes, I recognize that. However, wouldn't she be the best individual to provide her own personal information? And, given that this was published in a reliable journal, I assume that it was verified beforehand.
On a personal level, as an individual who would listen to her programs for decades, I can also verify the information. If you were to search for her in Arabic (سلوى جراح), you would be able to view most of these programs. The books can be found on Amazon and Goodreads in Arabic, although I can't cite those.
I believe that this Wikipedia page is necessary, which is why I keep bugging you. However, I understand if you decide not to reconsider your decision. Syrianpoet94 (talk) 09:32, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
unfortunately that isn't how exactly notability works on Wikipedia. we need sources that meet WP:SIRS. if you could take a read there and add some good sources, perhaps it will be approved. She was afairy 09:35, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
Ok, I'll do that Syrianpoet94 (talk) 09:36, 14 March 2024 (UTC)

Tagging pages for speedy deletion

Hello, Shewasafairy,

Please be careful when tagging pages for speedy deletion. The guideline is to wait at least an hour after an editor has created and stopped editing a newly created draft or article before tagging it for deletion. I'm not sure how many articles you have created but I'm sure you can understand that a content creator who is just beginning an article takes a while before it is suitable for evaluation. Maybe when you have acquired more editing experience, you could consider applying to Wikipedia:New pages patrol that would teach you helpful tips on patrolling new articles on the project.

If you have questions about Wikipedia's deletion processes, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:13, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

hello, thank you for letting me know administrator Liz. i will not edit a page until after one hour after it is created then. She was afairy 16:41, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

Linked article

thank you for linking an article to it, i will remove the orphan tag. in the future, you can remove it yourself after linking to it, by the way. She was afairy 00:17, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
Thanks once again. CoolBoyMe (talk) 16:38, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
no worries, happy editing. She was afairy 23:10, 2 March 2024 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted

Hi Shewasafairy. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:34, 8 March 2024 (UTC)

Over Justin Jin

Hello and how are you doing? I saw while I was reviewing pages per new pages feed, I saw you accepted Justin Jin (entrepreneur) when the article seems to lack context and verifiable sources of not press releases and blogs from maybe reliable sources! I also noticed the page Justin Jin was salted to only admin creation when I wanted to remove unnecessary parenthesis–(entrepreneur). While I am not complaining about the salting, the article in no way meets WP: N and thus, I am requesting AFD. You may join also! All the Best! Otuọcha (talk) 07:08, 13 March 2024 (UTC)

hello, i'm good, thanks. yeah, the article cited Diario Libre which mentioned a "press release" and didn't seem too good. same with the business insider piece i just added. other sources seem fine, green-labelled, though. thank you.
i've requested Liz to rename the page as well. She was afairy 07:13, 13 March 2024 (UTC)

Salwa Jarrah page approval

hello @Syrianpoet94, i didn't decline it. you can check the edit history for clarification. it seems like Drmies had a bit of a different decline reason. She was afairy 09:52, 17 March 2024 (UTC)
Would you be willing to evaluate it? Syrianpoet94 (talk) 15:46, 17 March 2024 (UTC)
that wouldn't be fair to other page creations. it will be reviewed in time. and last time i denied, you decided to resubmit without changes, which is not good practice. it seems like another editor has added some references this time though. She was afairy 13:33, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
Ok Syrianpoet94 (talk) 14:14, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
I'm sorry for the bad practice on my part. Syrianpoet94 (talk) 14:15, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
no worries at all. i understand being excited about making a wikipedia article for all to see. She was afairy 14:21, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
Thank you. Yes, it's my first Wikipedia article. I hope that it's better now and ready to be published. I also made a few additions Draft:Salwa Jarrah. Syrianpoet94 (talk) 07:22, 19 March 2024 (UTC)

Another page review comment

Hello Shewasafairy, and I hope you're well 🙂 It seems a lot of your talk page messages are about page reviewing, so I'll make myself brief. Would you mind, if you have the time, to look over the draft for Denys Davydov again? I have since found and added a few more sources to the page, as well as hopefully clarified some of your concerns in a message at the top of the page. This is the only draft article of mine, and it's been in the space for awhile, so if you have a chance, I hope you could take a second look at it to see if it meets mainspace requirements yet. Cheers! Johnson524 02:54, 20 March 2024 (UTC)

hello, i'm well thank you. how about you?
i actually did not review Denys Davydov yet, i only commented, so i didn't take a very in-depth look. as i mentioned before i don't think it's fair to prioritize drafts, but if it comes back in my mind i will see. thanks She was afairy 06:07, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
That's all I ask, and if you never get around to it, that's fine too lol. Johnson524 06:17, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
thank you for understanding. keep it up! i have a feeling it'll pass soon. She was afairy 06:58, 20 March 2024 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024

Hello Shewasafairy,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

Draftify at AfD Justin Jin

I see that you are inactive so hopefully this talk page message will notify you. Would you support a draftify at this AfD? Please read the discussion. Also, you can probably ignore the message above, it was added by a now blocked user. TLAtlak 16:44, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
