Iceland's portal peer review

Hello Shyam. Since you've been a recent portal peer reviewer, I request your input at the Iceland Portal's peer review. All general feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks! [sd] 13:48, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello again! I would like notify you that the Iceland Portal has now been nominated for featured status. Comments and suggestions are welcome at the discussion. Thank you, [sd] 02:03, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi sd, sorry for the delayed response. I will have a look at it, as time permits. Thanks, Shyam (T/C) 05:23, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! Cheers, [sd] 02:29, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Image:Sarah_Lockwood_Winchester.jpg

I have tagged Image:Sarah_Lockwood_Winchester.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 21:57, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

I am considering closing it now. Would you disagree to a promotion? Rudget. 17:45, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

No, The issues have not been fixed. If it has to be closed at the stage, then it should not be promoted. Thanks, Shyam (T/C) 05:32, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi Rudget, in addition to this, please give some time (at least 2 weeks) to the portal before closing, e.g. Gibraltar. Portal nomination requires more time to get reviewed. If you have any questions, then please let me know. Thanks, Shyam (T/C) 05:40, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

I quite understand the system. Thank you for concerns. I will leave it open for your comments to be addressed. Rudget. 19:09, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah one more question, would you agree to the promotion of Portal:England? It was opened on the 26th of December and has had 3 supports with no opposes that haven't been addressed. I'm not quite sure about your stance thus far, so I'll leave you to reply here aswell. :) Regards, Rudget. 19:13, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
No, I do not agree promoting England portal at the current stage. In addition, Amusement parks can be promoted after having Associated Wikimedia. Thanks, Shyam (T/C) 10:34, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Mediation?

I think we are ready for next steps over at the neo-Nazism discussion. Hope you have the time to help us sort through the issues. Thanks.--Cberlet (talk) 12:14, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: Portal:Wine nomination

I think you're taking about the issues of "noinclude" tags. If you take a look at Cirt and RichardF's comments, they explained clearly that they disagree with your comments and provided their rationales. I respect their views so I closed it since it establishes a consensus. Keep in mind that giving suggestions is not a equivalent of supporting or opposing OhanaUnitedTalk page 14:21, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Admin Coaching Re-confirmation

Hello, previously you expressed interest in participating in the Wikipedia:Admin coaching project. We are currently conducting a reconfirmation drive to give coaches the opportunity to update their information and capacity to participate in the project. Please visit Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Status to update your status. Also, please remember to update your capacity (5th table variable) in the form of a fraction (eg. 2/3 means you are currently coaching 2 students, and could accept 1 more student). Thank you. Coaching

I was looking through the coacher's site and wondered if you would be able to coach me? If not, then never mind, thanks. --Tom.mevlie (talk) 22:47, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Sorry Tom.mevlie, I am not able to coach you at this stage. I am pleased to be a coach after some more productive work from your side. Shyam (T/C) 09:05, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Admin Coaching

Hi, I have recently been assigned you as my coach! I am looking forward to working together. I want to be an admin because I would love the ability to block trolls, protect pages, delete speedies and so on. My current main work on the wiki is patrolling vandalism and monitoring recent changes. By looking at many RfA's I've determined that rc and some newpage patrol alone won't get you syops status, so I've came to you for coaching. Thank you so much, Thedjatclubrock :-) (T/C) 11:47, 1 March 2008 (UTC).

Hi Thedjatclubrock, thanks for your interest in me, as an admin coach. I would like to tell you before being an admin coach. I will not be active on Weekends and I will be a bit active on Weekdays. I will be on Wikibreak till March 23rd. This may make procedure a little slower. If you are still interested to get an admin coaching by me, then please let me know. Thanks, Shyam (T/C) 07:37, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Alright, that is fine by me, I am active on weekdays, that is just on my userpage because occationaly I am hit with a lot of work and dont have much time to explain my current condition. Thanks for the coaching :) Thedjatclubrock :-) (T/C) 02:22, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Okay. If you do not have any issues regarding this, then alright. I have created Admin coaching page for you. So that, there should not be any breaks concerning coaching discussions. You can go through it. I have added it in my Watchlist. Cheers for now, Shyam (T/C) 09:19, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Translation

I was hoping to get the LEAD of the Hindi homeopathy article translated into English. How would be the best way to go about that? Thanks.--Filll (talk) 20:33, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Filll, I will try to translate Hindi Homeopathy article lead, as time permits. But, this can not go directly to Homeopathy lead. I shall write it to the Talk:Homeopathy and then will you take care? Thanks, Shyam (T/C) 09:32, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Whenever you get around to it would be fine. I really appreciate it. It would be best to put the translation in another file like a sandbox, or on my talk page. Thanks.--Filll (talk) 13:46, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. It may take some time, as I am busy till March 23. Shyam (T/C) 07:45, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Could you take another look and reevaluate your position? I believe I have done my best to address all of the points raised in the discussion. Cirt (talk) 00:00, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I responded to your "support" - you may want to make it easier on the FPORTC closer and cross out your "oppose" comments above in that discussion. Cirt (talk) 07:58, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
