Unwillingly I became involved in an edit war. There are two things I can do now: give up or escalate. Give up? I still think I am right. Escalate? Appeal to the mods, maybe organise a vote? That means investing a lot of time and energy.

At moments like these it helps to remember why I am participating on the English Wikipedia. It is a hobby. A hobby is supposed to be fun. When it is not fun anymore, it's time to leave.

Sijtze, don’t retire, man. You haven’t seen a true edit war, if you think we’re having one. I’ll stop reverting and we just solve it here, on your Talk page, what do you say? First of all, how am I misinterpreting the Vote, when I follow it to the letter? “For Gdansk and other locations that share a history between Germany and Poland, the first reference of one name in an article should also include a reference to other names”. There is no doubt, I hope, that Königsberg shares history between Germany and Poland. Anyway, don’t retire. I’m really a nice guy, we can coexist, or maybe even one day – cooperate. Happy editing, sincerely

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
