Big East standings[edit]
Thanks for your effort at improving the Big East men's soccer standings, but...
There are standings boxes for each of the 24 conferences competing in NCAA Division I men's soccer. They all use the same standard format (as do those for women's soccer.) Several of us have spent quite a bit of time and effort in getting this done, ironing out problems and trying to convey all of the necessary information. (We have not yet been able to add points to the conference standings, which may be an impossibility due to space constraints.) Please do not go trying to make one conference unique from the others. The regular season champion is identified by its position at the top of the standings; the conference tournament winner (if there is one) receives an automatic bid to the tournament, not an invitation— these do not require separate identifications. If you see things that you think can be improved, please post them on the talk page rather than unilaterally making changes. Thank you for your attention... - Using the special note because the invitation can be marked with "x" rather than "y" and the internal mechanism tends to forget about posting the tournament, possibly because the format is for baseball, rather than soccer... (Women's may still be using the y. Men's was switched to x to avoid having to also give a y to the automatic qualifier. [Space constraints... too many characters & you get wraparound. Someone objected to St. Francis Br'klyn ‡ and edited it to Saint Francis Brooklyn ‡, which really screwed up the look of the Northeast Conference standings box.])
A lot of this has been trial and error, and, even before we switched to the baseball box, were were using a combination of (association) football and basketball to try to get a "proper" display. Invite to the African Destubathon[edit]
Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section.
