hi I'm a physics student doing research in Dirac Quantization and I loved your post on Dirac brackets but concerning the example you gave, I would like further information.

I'm interested in noncommutative geometry but I know nothing about it. Can you give me a reference where these two subject are exposed jointly?

Dirac Brackets[edit]

Hey. I like your article on Dirac Brackets. But I can't help but notice (as you observe in your comment on first class constraints) that the article is really a summary of Chapter 1 of Heanneaux and Bunster (ummm, the guy formerly known at Teitelboim) and covers many topics concerning constrained Hamiltonian systems. I searched Wikipedia for constrained Hamiltonian systems for awhile before finding your article (I didn't think to check "Dirac Brackets"), I'd imagine that I'm not the only one. Thus, in light of the fact that Dirac Brackets are not the main focus of your article, may I suggest calling it something along the lines of "Constrained Hamiltonian Systems" like in the book? So that it'd be easier to find for people like me. To deal with the constraint articles, maybe there should be a category on Hamiltonian dynamics (is there already?) or on constrained systems and your article (which would be the lead article in the second case) could be included along with the articles on constraints. Thanks. (Interesting about the name change--I was unaware of that). Definitely what you suggests makes more sense than the current arrangement. I think when I have time to make the necessary changes to the article I will change the title. I think I would also add a redirect from Dirac bracket to "Constrained Hamiltonian Systems" or whatever we are calling it as well. When I first encountered this material it was through Dirac brackets, so I think I naturally assumed that's what people would search for. Steve Avery (talk) 03:31, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
