Hello, Staceymont, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

Shaahin Cheyene

[edit]

The Wikipedia page for Shaahin Cheyene was in poor shape. Grammar was terrible, sentence structure was terrible. Also, the article was not very professionally written. I am researching and rewriting the article. My goal is make sure that the information follows the Wikipedia guidelines and at the same time is concise, objective and not unnecessarily provocative.

Ultimately I want the page to be cleaned up so that there will be no issue with Wikipedia's content policies.

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Shaahin Cheyene. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Excelerol, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Total-MAdMaN (talk) 19:55, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia:Copyright violations - the entire 'Ingredients' section in the Excelerol article that you created seems to be copied from here [1]. This appears to be a clear violation of copyright. AndyTheGrump (talk) 13:32, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I attributed all of the information to either Wikipedia, or to other sources.

Staceymont (talk) 13:34, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly - it was a breach of copyright - and 'attributing information' is utterly irrelevant in regard to the copying of copyrighted material into Wikipedia. Or did you have the permission of the owners of the material you copied to do this? Given your claims to have no connection with them, I'll assume not - and such behaviour is likely to result in a block. Then again, given that your only edits to Wikipedia have been in regard to Shaahin Cheyene, or to Excelerol, where you have repeatedly attempted to put a positive spin into the articles, I see no reason whatsoever to take your word over this. So, make your mind up, are you breaching Wikipedia policy by pasting copyrighted material into articles? Or are you breaching Wikipedia policy by editing articles with an undeclared conflict of interest? I'd like learn how you could be doing neither... I would like to know why you are being so rude. If I am doing something incorrectly and you want to explain it to me, then please do so in a professional nonconfrontational way. There are actually other businesses and products that I would like to attempt to add to Wikipedia, but am trying to work through these difficulties first. I did not add the Shaahin document. Yes, I have edited it. I did add the Excelerol document, after reading through many Wikipedia documents on how to do so, what is permitted and what is not permitted. I am trying to stay within the guidelines. I have been challenged on a number of items and I responded, explaining what I think what I did was proper. If I am incorrect, then fine. But please be professional about it and do not attack me.

In fact, when I received this rude message from you, I was actually online doing more research to see if I can find the type of references and resources that I have been told would work. I am TRYING. And if I was not trying and just wanted to promote Cheyene, there is plenty of other things that I would attempt to include. But I am not doing that.

Those aren't "attacks" on your talk page.
