Galicia[edit]

Hi Stoni,

In case you haven't noticed. Galicia is a disambig. page because if you check out what links there, it's pretty much 50/50 between the region in Spain and the region in Europe that links there. Please stop moving the pages. Thanks. --Hottentot 22:48, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't checked up the number of pages inside wikipedia. But if you check outside wikipedia you will know why do I do this. I'm sure links inside wikipedia can be corrected --Stoni 22:50, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Both Wikipedia articles are equally important. As many pages about the Galicia in Central Europe link to Galicia and the one in Spain. --Hottentot 22:54, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
If you check the [relevancy of links to Galicia article and the term Galicia in the Internet you will see that everything is about Spanish Galicia. I am sure that much people can link incorrectly in wikipedia. If you worry about this I can correct this also but will be more easy to correct Central Europe articles because there is no one outside wikipedia. Instead for spanish one you should correct 50% of articles at english wikipedia, all the other wikipedias that use Galicia for Spanish autonomous comunity (24 exactly/compared with 2) and other websites outside wikipedia. --Stoni 23:03, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry but aren't equally important. Also Galician wikipedia has more than 10.000 articles. Also your calculus is incorrect, only 10% of articles are about central europe. Perhaps you saw some articles about Germany but it also link to Spanish Galcia --Stoni 23:05, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Just an example: If you check links to Galicia one is about Karl I of Austria and as Central Europe Galicia is in Austria it should talk about it. But not, it also talks about Spanish Galicia. Perhaps this small Galicia took the name from the Spanish one. I have corrected all links it took me 10 minutes. Thanks, this will improve quality of Wikipedia. --Stoni 23:20, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Stoni, I posted the following on my page re your request for assistance re WikiProject Galica:

I'm off the week after Christmas (yes, a week off!) and I'd be happy to pitch in at that time. Very interesting topic, I must say. One thing, could you send me a reminder around the 24th (I'm kind of like the absent-minded professor). Thanks, and I look forward to getting started. Jim62sch 17:29, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Stop[edit]

I never said that you should move Galicia (Spain) to Galicia. It should remain a disambig. page because both meanings are equally important, and it goes according to Wikipedia:Neutral Point of View. Please stop switching instances where is linked to Galicia (Spain) to Galicia --Hottentot 23:50, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I thought it was enought to you what I told you to reflect biggest importance of Spanish Galicia in a neutral view. I thought it was better to move it because of now the only problem is that 50% of pages go to Galicia and 50% to Galicia (Spain), and 100% are about Spanish Galicia. There were just 6 pages about Austrian Galicia referring to Galicia --Stoni 00:00, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

But check about how many pages link to Galicia (Central Europe) and Galicia (Spain. The number of pages are about the same. --Hottentot 00:04, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
People in Galicia also write in Galician Wikipedia and and Spanish Wikipedia. For that reason there is only 476 articles linking to iberian Galicia compared to 425 about Central Europe. Also 90% of the links to Galicia were about iberian/spanish/the kingdom of Galicia. There are also other historic reasons that I think you don't care about. --Stoni 00:00, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
You just said the reason why Galicia should remain a disambig page. 425 link to the Central European region, and 476 articles link to the iberian Galicia article. Those numbers are close. --Hottentot 00:42, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Very good Stoni! I've just seen what you have done with Kingdom of Galicia and Portugal, Kingdom of Galicia, Gallaecia, History of Galicia and the History of Galicia box series. Image copyright problem with Image:Ignacio_Ramonet.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ignacio_Ramonet.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 06:43, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Copyright problems with Image:Vigo Flag.gif[edit]

An image that you uploaded, Image:Vigo Flag.gif, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

I noticed that the source web page had a copyright notice on it, so I do not believe that this is public domain. Jesse Viviano 23:58, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Anxo Quintana.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Anxo Quintana.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 03:41, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:La Opinión A Coruña Front.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:La Opinión A Coruña Front.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:Pescanova_logo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Pescanova_logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 20:02, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading commons:Image:Benito Jerónimo Feijoo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 07:47, 18 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Conscious 07:47, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image permission problem with Image:Manuel Rivas.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Manuel Rivas.jpg, which you've sourced to "Promotional image". I noticed that that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 19:10, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Artificial General Intelligence[edit]

Hi Stoni, I notice you are a computer scientist with an interest in artificial intelligence. I share your interest in AI, and just contributed my first article to Wikipedia on a new kind of artificial general intelligence technology developed by a company called SmartAction. Being a new Wikipedian, I made many mistakes, and got "jumped on" immediately :-) I have tried to improve my article in line with the criticisms, but I could use the help of someone with more experience in editing Wikipedia articles, who also has knowledge of AI. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you! R001605 (talk) 21:22, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Kingdom of Galicia and Portugal. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kingdom of Galicia and Portugal. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:14, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article World Fishing Exhibition has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This non-notable trade show has been original research since it was written. No evidence that it is an encyclopedia topic. Sounds to me like promotion alone with trivial details like the number of square meters of display space.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Disambiguation link notification for August 11[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Deportivo de La Coruña (women), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cristina Martínez (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:58, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

El Hierro Launch Centre‎[edit]

Hello. This sentence at El Hierro Launch Centre‎ is not clear. Could you explain to me the meaning, so I can rephrase it?.

"In 2015 te project has been recovered as PLD Space since plans to launch a new rocket and made an agreement with INTA to help them find a place to launch."

Tambien hablo Castellano, si es mas facil para usted expresarse asi. Rowan Forest (talk) 17:55, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe "In 2015, the project was resumed because PLD Space plans to launch a new rocket and reached an agreement with INTA to help them find a launch site." In Spanish it would be "En 2015, el proyecto se retomó debido a que PLD Space planea lanzar un nuevo cohete y alcanzó un acuerdo con INTA para ayudarlos a encontrar una ubicación para el lanzamiento." Feel free to rephrase it. I have to review everything later. Reasearch took a while, I was exhausted, and still haven't found everything. One article says that detailed blueprints were published (prabably in paper) but I was unable to find them. --Ramon Antonio Parada (talk) 18:19, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'll let you work on it and sometime later this week I could go over some minor cleanup. Cheers, Rowan Forest (talk) 19:15, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on GNSS Service Centre requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://gssc.esa.int/navipedia/index.php/GNSS_Service_Centre. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. --Puddleglum2.0(How's my driving?) 19:17, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stoni, great to see an article on Spanish air bases. To make your life easier and develop a sr=tndardised format you might like to use Template:WPAVIATION creator for your aviation articles. I personally use it for all my articles as it removes the grind of typing out the format and allows one to get on with the nitty-gritty.Pete--Petebutt (talk) 02:35, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Port of Vigo 2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Port of Vigo 2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 18:00, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article 21st-century Galicia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Marked unreferenced for over a decade and still no source provided. The content does not seem to be written in an encyclopedic tone, and not enough content is present to justify a full article. Should be merged into History of Galicia

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
