I heard you on Radio New Zealand today, good work on the outreach. Great to hear people discussing the process and importance of editing on wikimedia projects. Also well done on your articles and all the files you have added. Thanks! — InsertCleverPhraseHere 02:29, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
Thank you very much! As you can tell I'm pretty new to Wikipedia so felt quite nervous representing such a vast community of people especially ones with a lot more experience than me. Hope I can spread the word more about what an awesome community this is.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Susan Tol (talkcontribs) 7:12, 23 07 2017 (UTC)
No worries. You did great. I took your comment about the Treaty of Waitangi pretty seriously. It isn't even a Good Article! I have started a Good Article Review and intend to work on it and hope to eventually get it up to featured status eventually. Also, don't forget to sign your talk page posts with ~~~~ to add your signature. Cheers and happy editing. — InsertCleverPhraseHere 10:04, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
Awesome! I'm back into my masters so have less time to give to wikipedia but I am stoked you are working on that article! I'll keep my eye on it and contribute what I can. It'd be good to really put my history degree to the test. Thanks Susan Tol (talk) 02:06, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

Women in Red World Contest[edit]

Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!

Treaty of Waitangi[edit]

Finally managed it. The Treaty of Waitangi is now listed as a Good Article and will be up on the main page in the Did You Know? section on Waitangi Day. Thanks for inspiring me to work on this article with your interview on Radio New Zealand. Cheers! — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 02:11, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

That is awesome! Congrats on the hard work! Me and other editors are getting ready to submit Kate Sheppard for a review soon, so must be the season for article upgrades!Susan Tol (talk) 04:46, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
Indeed! I don't know when/if I'll ever get ToW up to Featured Article status. Even having read several books on the subject, I feel like I need the help of an expert on the topic to help with the review and to recommend changes and expansion. I might actually contact some university professors and ask them to provide comments on the article and how it can be improved (I might even try to go meet Claudia Orange and get her opinion in person (she is in Wellington after all). — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 04:52, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
Talking to Claudia Orange would be so cool! It would be interesting to see what she thought of the article. Best of luck for future work! Susan Tol (talk) 07:14, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

Margi Robertson[edit]

Hi I wrote a brief article on NZ designer Margi Robertson (NOM*d) for International Women's Day. It is still waiting in AfC for a review. I noticed that you posted an article on NZ designer Marilyn Sainty. I wondered if you might have the time to review my article on Margi Robertson. I am keen to see more NZ women represented on Wikipedia. Many thanks for your help. Yrarendar (talk) 01:20, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

I've had a go; there's room for further improvement. Schwede66 03:16, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

Wikidata Query for New Zealand Women artists with an English Wikipedia article[edit]

Hi Susan, I've been playing around with SPARQL and created this query for all NZ women artists with a wikipedia article - see https:// tinyurl dot com/ycjgpb9f (I've had to break up the link as Wikipedia wont let me save it as tinyurl appears to be on a blacklist - you'll have take out the space as well as replace the word "dot" with a . I thought it might be of use for your October 6th Editathon if folk aren't sure about what they want to work on.- Ambrosia10 (talk) 20:54, 22 September 2018 (UTC)
