Edit to the Shyok River article
[edit]Hello Sutyarashi, and thank you for your contribution to the Shyok River article.
The figures on the discharge were taken from Table 1 of https:/www.mdpi.com/2073-4441/10/7/918 . That said, I tend to think that the source you found is more reliable/plausible.
One question (a detail): Why, in the Infobox, did you round the figures you found to one decimal place instead of either rounding to zero decimal places or leaving them as you wrote them in the body of the article? To make it easier for the reader, I suggest using the same rounding level in the body of the text and in the Infobox.
Lastly, I haven’t yet read the whole source you found, but we should probably also review the figures in the following sentence, i.e. regarding the Suspended Sediment Concentration.
Kind regards, Nivora (talk) 15:45, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hello Nivora. I actually found earlier figures perplexing as well. It seems that (given the topic of cited article) the figures in the table referred to sediment concentration instead, as otherwise the figures would be implausible since the total mean discharge downstream at Kachura, including Indus, is roughly equal to it.[1]
- As for rounding up figures, no specific reason. Feel free to edit them.
- For SSC I'm open to your suggestions. In my opinion we should use 2020 source here since it is relatively recent, and more detailed. Sutyarashi (talk) 16:31, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply and the information.
- I agree with you that the previous source was more distant from the topic of ‘discharge’ than yours. Furthermore, in the meantime, I’ve come across two other figures similar to those in your source. And I also agree with your analysis considering Kachura. So, thank you for finding this source (and for this improvement)!
- As for the rounding, I’ll give it some thought and probably edit it.
- Regarding the SSC, I share your opinion. I need to take the time to read up on it a bit more, but I’ll probably do as you suggest. Nivora (talk) 16:51, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- Feel free to go ahead. Regards, Sutyarashi (talk) 18:44, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

[edit]
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war, according to the reverts you've made to Ghizer Valley. This means that you are repeatedly reverting content back to how you think it should be, despite knowing that other editors disagree. Once it is known that there is a disagreement, users are expected to collaborate with others, avoid editing disruptively, and try to reach a consensus – rather than repeatedly reverting the changes made by other users.
Important points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive behavior – regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not engage in edit warring – even if you believe that you are right.
You need to discuss the disagreement on the article's talk page and work towards a revision that represents consensus among everyone involved. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution if discussions reach an impasse. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to engage in edit warring, you may be blocked from editing. Kautilya3 (talk) 13:47, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
Pakistan, Babies, and Bathwater
[edit]I am not sure that I understand your last comment at my talk page, and so I am not sure about the scope of the dispute. You say that Sheriff is undoing work by every single editor whose edit happened to introduce spaces
. Are they undoing the substantive edits by the editors, or are they leaving the substantive edits as they had been? If they are reverting the substantive edits that also introduce the whitespace, then that is interfering with development of the encyclopedia, and that is a serious problem. If they are removing the whitespace and leaving the substantive changes alone or restoring the substantive changes, then that is a cosmetic nuisance. Can you please clarify?

- For example, they reverted edit by MrGreen105[1], stating Unnecessary spacing was not needed just to remove designate, only to remove the word themselves later[2], i.e their only problem with the edit was with spaces. Same was the case with my last edit, after undoing it, they restored bits here and there, but not complete edit. Sutyarashi (talk) 05:59, 2 May 2026 (UTC)
Ethnic group representative images
[edit]Please Sutyarashi, this is really urgent. you've done a great job stopping this in the Punjabis article. The Bengalis article needs to be sorted out. as you are well aware we do not add an image of people on the infobox for large ethnic groups articles. Almost all the ones that I have seen such as Danes, Polish people, English people, Japanese people, Sindhis, Italians, Pashtuns, Arabs, Albanians, Punjabis etc. none of them have images of those people, rather their distribution is shown on a map. Why is there an exception being made for the Bengalis article? For a long time it was like that on this article as well where there was no image, but now a user recently added it. I think it is important we maintain consistency, please sort this mess out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks , Jaunpurzada (talk) 18:17, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
