Can i make articles now, or do i have to do more?[edit]

Yes, as i want to make one for Peatbog Faeries album Dust --TangoTizerWolfstone (talk) 14:45, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Go ahead. Wikipedia:FIRSTARTICLE#How_to_create_a_page tells you how to do it - it looks like you'll need to call your article Dust (Peatbog Faeries album), as there are already plenty of other albums called "Dust". --McGeddon (talk) 15:00, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, i have made the page as Dust (Peatbog Faeries album).--TangoTizerWolfstone (talk) 15:11, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Dust (Peatbog Faeries album)[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dust (Peatbog Faeries album) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Boolyme बूलीमी Chat बोलो!! 16:39, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

And now the good news...[edit]

I've declined the speedy deletion of the albums as A7 doesn't cover products. As to references, you need to look at WP:RS. No blogs, forums, reverbnation or discogs. To show notability, they should be independent of the band or its label, and saying rather more than (for example) "The Pink Fluffies released their new album 'Descent into the Death House of the Seventh Hell' on July 22, 2009.". Peridon (talk) 17:30, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Thank you. I will read. Do news pages count (like reference to BBC News or something?)--TangoTizerWolfstone (talk) 17:32, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
If there's a BBC News article that mentions the album the album in some detail (beyond a passing namecheck), then yet, that would be perfect. WP:RS should tell you all you need to know - any solid news or music press coverage will be enough. --McGeddon (talk) 17:52, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
(edit conflict) So long as they're not passing mentions or PR guff, yes, usually. (The National Enquirer and The Sun come a bit further down the reliability list than the BBC...) Be specific - don't just link to 'The Times of India' without an issue ref, and preferably with an online version. Peridon (talk) 17:57, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Wow! 366[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Wow! 366 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indications of notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. MikeWazowski (talk) 17:39, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Despite reading WP:RS, i am not sure how to do a notablity entry, please could somebody help.--TangoTizerWolfstone (talk) 17:41, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
The subject of the article must be talked about in 'reliable sources' - that is, discussed (not like The Pink Fluffies I referred to above), and in something independent and reliable. Blogs and forums (and Wikipedia...) are not reliable, because any old passerby can edit them. (Amazon can be used as a defence against a 'hoax' tag, but that's about all.) Places like Amazon aren't reliable for notability - they'll try to sell almost anything. (Conversely, if Amazon DON'T list it, it is 99.99% sure not to be notable beyond the author's five friends who have had free copies...) LinkedIn and AboutUs, IMDb and Spotlight are user supplied info - not good. Directories are out. Good press coverage, BBC review, established literary magazines, critical blogs where the comments are by the blogger and he/she has an article on Wikipedia that's been up for some months and isn't tagged for deletion, that sort of thing. I'll put a helpme up here to attract other comments. I'm not infallible... Peridon (talk) 12:29, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Urgh! What a horrible book name - that makes searching for refs even harder. Still not your fault. Peridon has summed up nicely, I did find http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/booksblog/2008/aug/05/speedystoriesforshortatten by the Guardian's children's book editor - I think that might be a useful thing to include. I also found http://booksforkeeps.co.uk/issue/173/childrens-books/reviews/wow-366-speedy-stories-in-just-366-words as well. Neither of those pages are "blog" or "anyone can edit" type pages.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:53, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Chilled Tango[edit]

Is "a 'speciality' that the drink could taste cold even in hot tempertures" referring to another menthol version of the drink, or am I misunderstanding what you're trying to say here? It'd seem a bit odd to pump menthol (or any other magic chemicals) into the day-to-day version of the drink - particularly when they were making a big deal of chilling the cans properly, with the heat-sensitive ink. --McGeddon (talk) 18:23, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

Cut the Crap[edit]

Hi Tango, on April 8 you added a paragraph to Cut the Crap including the following reference (among others): <ref name="joestrummer.us"/>. Unfortunately, it has broken as there is no ref called "joestrummer.us" on that page. Could you please insert the entire reference (if possible)? Cheers, benzband (talk) 15:48, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, though i found this in The Clash page, at the time i had the source myself. I no longer do sorry.

Following your indications, I found this on The Clash :

Could that be it? benzband (talk) 13:37, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Images go on Commons[edit]

I hope you were intending to add File:Alfriston lock-up 00.jpg to Category:Village lock-ups otherwise I shall feel offended! But in fact we simply do not need a category here that consists entirely of images. The correct place for such is the Commons and commons:Category:Village lock-ups already exists. Indeed, do not be surprised if your gallery gets deleted from village lock-up because excessive image are deprecated. Conversely, do please create a gallery commons:English village lock-ups - this is not a duplication of the category - an article allows more flexibility in ordering the content and providing better annotation. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:27, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I allowed one of my friends to make almost all (not all, but the category edits at least) of the village lock-ups edits, first time i've allowed anyone else to use my account temporarly. Regardless this is my responsibility, if there is one needed. I understand the proposals going on and indeed there is a lot of images in that article. I'm not 100% familiar with the Wikimedia commons but I see what I can do, as TangoTizerWolfstone or not.--TangoTizerWolfstone (talk) 23:26, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Millie (sculpture)[edit]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Millie (sculpture), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.bradfordonavon.co.uk/WhatToDo/milliesculptureb.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) MadmanBot (talk) 11:34, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

I'm really sorry, as i've had this in my sandbox for so long I just made it without double thinking. Changed the writing a bit and removed the tag but let me know if this is not good enough. By any means, delete the article if desired as it is really small.--TangoTizerWolfstone (talk) 11:40, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

Dave Clarke Allmusic edit[edit]

Hi TangoTizerWolfstone: I reverted your recent addition to the Dave Clarke (DJ/producer) page, as the title "techno hero" only appeared in a promotional blurb for the Chemical Brothers, so it seemed misleading to state that Allmusic as a whole was responsible for the accolade. It would be best to find an article or a profile from Allmusic that uses the "techno hero" title—something more substantial and notable than a minor piece of marketing. The Chemical Brothers[edit]

Good afternoon. I've noticed that you've been removing the trip hop genre on some of the articles on The Chemical Brothers. I wanted to notify you that I have now re-added the trip hop genre. TCB are still much part of UK trip hop, with a few songs relying on the genre on their albums, Dig Your Own Hole, Come with Us, Further, and their all new album, Born in the Echoes, available to own from July 24th.

Thank you for your attention.
