Hola, Tehue!

I'm gonna switch to English now for clarity (isn't multilinguilism great?). I would be honored to be a resource for you as you learn more about Wikipedia. However, I don't want to unduly influence your views about certain subjects. I've seen other newcomers get dragged into the Userbox Wars, and soon leave in frustration; I'd like to avoid that at all costs. So I'm going to ask you to explore Wikipedia by yourself and make up your own mind about things like userboxes and free speech. Feel free to ask my opinion, but don't take it as the opinion of Wikipedia.

Besides for that caveat, I definitely would enjoy mentoring you. I'm not the most experienced editor - I've only been a serious editor for a few months - but the learning curve for this stuff is pretty quick. I hope you'll enjoy Wikipedia as much as I do. Háblame en español, o, si prefiera, en inglés. Hasta luego, Λυδαcιτγ(TheJabberwock) 01:47, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unos pocos problemas con tu inglés: primero, se dice "in regards to" en vez de "in regards of." Y segundo, "in order to form an opinion for its own."
Sobre los userboxes: I think the best policy is WP:BOXPOL, because of the line "UBX may not be constructed to be deliberately inflammatory, destructive, or obscene" (emphasis mine). This gets rid of the only boxes I would be against (e.g., "This user hates Jews"), and protects most of them. However, I can sympathize with the desire to maintain the purity of the Template space, so I would support combining BOXPOL with WP:MUPP. I'm glad to see both of these proposals moving along, and I hope that most of the damage done by abusive admins can be restored with consensus.
If any of this isn't making sense, let me know, since I'm a bit jaded from spending so much time discussing policy. Hasta pronto, Λυδαcιτγ(TheJabberwock) 05:09, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
