a or an[edit]

Hi Tetizeraz,

I try to answer your question: the "an" is used if the word begins with a vowel (with a, e, i, o or u), the "a" is used if the word begins with a consonant. So it is "an online", but for example "a line".

However, it is not important how the word is spelled but how it is pronounced. As an example, it is "a European trip" although European begins with the vowel "e", because the word is pronouced like "youropean" and "y" is a consonant. Also, it is "an honest man" because the "h" is not pronounced (it is pronounced like "an onest man"). And it is "a one-legged man" because the "one" is pronounced like it begins with a "w", not with an "o". I hope this is not to confusing.

Disambiguation link notification for February 19[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2022 Petrópolis floods, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page UOL. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:01, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ITN recognition for 2022 Petrópolis floods[edit]

On 20 February 2022, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article 2022 Petrópolis floods, which you created and updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. PFHLai (talk) 05:40, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Friendly notification: This recent edit you made also removed a named reference (i.e. <ref name="500troops">{{cite...}}</ref>) which resulted in an error being shown in the article because that reference was used in more than one location. If you happen to come across references with names in the future the typical easy fix is to just copy the citation and move it to another location that uses the same reference. The completed edit would look something like this. It's already fixed and nothing to worry about - just something to keep an eye out for if you happen to catch it. (...and sorry to belabor a topic if you already knew all this and just overlooked it.) Cheers. --N8wilson 06:36, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
