Hey, is this Elochai? --The Guy complain edits 22:44, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Nothing much, dude. This is dude527. I run The Disturbed Community (message boards; you're a member there), and am also a member of your board. You haven't checked in to my site in a while :) --The Guy complain edits 23:16, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
I can tell (low contribution count). Don't worry; I've been here for over fourteen months. I know the ins-and-outs of the policies and guidelines, and none of it is really hard to learn at all. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If you need a mediator for a debate, please message me; I love getting my two cents in on all debates here. Also, to reply to comments, just click "Edit" at the appropriate sub-section, find the reply that you wish to comment on, hit ":" (without quotations) the appropriate number of times (hit it one more time than the previous commenter; for example, I hit it three times, then you would hit it four times in a reply). Hitting ":" basically just spaces out the replies, so you can tell them apart (evidenced by my comments here). After hitting ":" the appropriate number of times, just type your reply, ALWAYS remember to sign your posts (~~~~), and hit "Save". Easy as pie. --The Guy complain edits 23:54, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
That's cool. I generally hate people editing without logging in, but it's no issue when they make helpful edits. These occurrences are few and far between, however. Most IPs march into articles, post unwarranted, unsourced content, and then keep reverting other users' edits, and ignoring/not replying to them. Metalmagnet (the guy who keeps wanting to add "The Night" to the Disturbed template) is currently acting in what I would call a fashion very much like that of a new user; he keeps reverting me, and ignoring when I bring up the issues of why it can't be there, spamming me with links for "proof" (even though I already said I believe him). As long as you're cool with other users, I guarantee you'll like it here. You nerd. You edit Wikipedia. Just kidding hahah (says the guy who has been here for over fourteen months :|) lol. Anyways, have fun. By the way, what did you think of the music video for "The Night"? --The Guy complain edits 00:12, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
The song has to receive significant media coverage and have enough verifiable content to create a decent-sized article before it can be made into one. As far as that goes, one interview on Blabbermouth is not even close to "wide media coverage." Anyways, I'm happy someone liked the video. Personally, I hated it. The atmosphere was off. The video didn't even come close to matching the feel of the song. To top that off, it was plagued by off-beat intercut imagery (the scenes changed off the beat, rather than on it), very gimmicky camera effects that contributed nothing of value overall to the video, and quite a few of the clips were played over again. I liked "Inside the Fire", and I liked "Indestructible", two of my favorite songs from the album. Ironic that the only song I like more than those two (save for "Perfect Insanity", for obvious reasons) has a video 10x more shitty. Overall, the gimmicky camera effects and atmosphere of the video as opposed to the actual song are what turned me off from the video the most. Needless to say I won't be scrambling to buy it from iTunes upon release like I did for "Inside the Fire" and "Indestructible". I feel they really butchered the song. --The Guy complain edits 00:32, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
That's where I've got to disagree. "The Night" either should have been nailed in the face, or not attempted at all. I think they should have done "Perfect Insanity", instead (the whole setting would have fit that song better. Or "Haunted"). --The Guy complain edits 00:43, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Dudes, name's SkrallAgori. Just wanted to tell you both that I'm glad that you've done away with the PARASITE that edited Disturbed the wrong way. Hey Elochai, could you please stop sourcing DisturbedMB? I know it's your site and all, and it's 100% reliable, but it doesn't pass the reliable source policy. I've just gone through a bunch of article and removed the references to DisturbedMB. It is simply not in compliance with Wikipedia's source rules. --The Guy complain edits 20:29, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Then why complain about a good article?[edit]

Tour dates[edit]

The issue is not speculation in Viva la Vida Tour‎, it's WP:NOT: Wikipedia articles are not, quote "Directories, directory entries, electronic program guide, or a resource for conducting business. For example, an article on a radio station should not list upcoming events, current promotions, current schedules."

Jeremy Spencer[edit]

Hey, About the article. Could you possibly help me find sources and tweak it? I think it's important to keep this article as opposed to deleting it, as it pertains to a drummer of a well known band. You might also note that the page for the bassist of this band, Matt Snell doesn't have much more information than the page I created. Thanks! Morbus Rising (talk) 04:01, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Ah, ok. What exactly must I show to prove the members are notable? Morbus Rising (talk) 16:14, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

I see. Well, the band has a new album coming out on the 22nd of September, and I plan to buy the cd/dvd. Maybe that will have some information. Also, how do you create references? I am unfamiliar with how to set those up. Morbus Rising (talk) 22:11, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Well....[edit]

I'm not terribly surprised to see this. Just a question, though: in your nom you state, "Other live albums have also been deleted." Are you referring to Phish albums or live albums in general? If you're referring to Phish albums, please lmk which ones you're referring to; if you're referring to live albums in general, I'm not sure what it has to do with anything. I didn't think this was a question germane to the AfD, so that's why I'm asking on your talk. If you think it will have a bearing on the AfD, feel free to copy it to there. — MusicMaker5376 20:21, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

More humorous vandalism[edit]

This was pretty funny, it's an edit torwards Underoath's sixth album Lost in the Sound of Separation, it's generally funny because it's parodying the contest that Underoath did before the release of it, the contest was that they wanted all their male fans to grow beards and take a picture of their beard-growing progress daily (see the website Septembeard for more info) however, I didn't post it on your userpage because I don't want it to seem as if I'm promoting the general parodying of Underoath, because they're honestly one of my favorite bands. But I still wanted someone to see this. • GunMetal Angel 22:24, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

haha. Underoath isn't that bad of a band. I like August Burns Red better when it comes to Christian Metal, but both are great bands. Thanks for sharing! TheWeakWilled (T * G) 23:01, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

I added the Jive records albums to the . If a category can contain another category it is practical to nest them. This is so that every album doesn't have categories like "Live albums" or "Rock albums". See WP:SUBCAT. TheWeakWilled (T * G) 23:45, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Funny vandalism posts on your userpage[edit]

Hey there. I'm a little bit concerned about some of the diffs on your userpage pointing to 'funny' vandalism. Although some may consider edits like this to be funny, others consider it to be quite juvenile and even offensive. But the reason I'm concerned is of course per WP:DENY, although it's good that you do have that notice to "do not vandalize just to be put here" disclaimer. Basically, it's not really that big of a deal, and even I too have some funny diffs on one of my subpages, but maybe a better idea would be to contribute these diffs to the dedicated site: BJAODN. Would you please consider this? Regards, œ 22:09, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Hmm. Would making it a userpage and making it hidden (ie nothing links to it, one would have to go to my contribs, userpages) be a better idea? Or should I just take it off in its entirety (some of them are on the borderline of funny, and some even have a slight BLP issue, ie this edit)? TheWeakWilled (T * G) 22:16, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
Yes that one is indeed concerning per BLP policy. Like I said, I think the best thing would be to remove it entirely, but you could keep a few of tame ones on a subpage if you want. -- œ 22:24, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
I removed them, I don't think what I have on the userpage is violating any rules (though is emailing me for the list against the rules?), and if you look at my recent contribs, you can see what I left, which shouldn't violate BLP. TheWeakWilled (T * G) 22:51, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
Thank you, everything is fine. :)
Also remember that you can add more if you want to the BJAODN site. == œ 02:31, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Re. Themes from S'Express - the Best Of[edit]

Hello! The website links you mention (Amazon etc.) do erroneously list the album title as 'Themes from S'Express - the Best Of S'Express' but this is common on-line practise to enable searches to find an album - (ie typing in "best of s'express" would then link to it) and to help boost sales. However, the correct album title remains 'Themes from S'Express - the Best Of' and should be listed as such. I do own the album in question and have verified it's correct title. For info I only create or update album or single pages if I actually own the recording. Hope this helps. Anything else let me know :) Davidkt 20:29, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Non-admin deletions[edit]

Hi, I see that you did a non-admin closure on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Grzegorz Michalski, I have absolutely no problem with that, it was certainly appropriate. I'm confused though as to how the page gets deleted in cases like that. I've read WP:NAC and WP:DPR#NAC and still don't understand what to do. Thanks, J04n(talk page) (a fellow non-admin)

I nominated the page for speedy deletion. User:Black Kite deleted it, and either wasn't aware of the AFD, didn't want to close the AFD, or I closed it first. Non-admins aren't able to delete pages. TheWeakWilled (T * G) 00:29, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
I see, did you bring up the AfD discussion in the nomination? (You don't have to send the Tb, I'm watching this page) J04n(talk page) 00:40, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
No, the afd template was already on the page, so it is possible the deleting admin looked there as well. When speedy tagging it I placed {{db-copyvio}} on the page. The admins have access to a log or some sort of list that have pages that have been speedy tagged, and then go to pages and decide whether or not to delete it. Pete townshend and Jimmy Page[edit]

Thanks for attempting to look into this, however the individual in question Sciberking is a sockpuppet account attempting to push a Pro-Jimmy Page, anti-Pete Towshend agenda based of his edits on the I can't explain, Pete Townshend page. See the Wiki Libs Sock Puppet investigation and Scieberking was found to have been numerous socks, however has yet to be banned. He has edited/deleted information based on his POV... Anyway on the subject: I can't seem to find why it can't be kept in, but if you point it out what passage it is that keeps it from exclusion, which i can't seem to find any of, I am more then willing to let it go, --Occultaphenia (talk) 02:31, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

Yes, but I was wondering what aspect/rule does it come under not to keep it in? Are you saying it needs to be a direct quote?

Its was actually sourced and that page had quotes. Jimmy Page: "The music that influenced the first Led Zeppelin album was Muddy Waters, [Pete] Townshend, [Joan] Baez, a lot of rockabilly. " [1]

If you could point to the rule on Reliable sources which it excludes it, that'd be cool. -thanks again --Occultaphenia (talk) 02:52, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

December 2009[edit]

Information.svg Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Two Daughters (Numb3rs) a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 20:59, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

CyanogenMod AfD[edit]

Just a quick note regarding the AfD you created at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/CyanogenMod (3rd nomination). I voted keep, as the admin who restored the article, and I also removed the Not a Vote template that you applied to the page. There's nothing wrong with the AfD itself, esspecially for an article that has been deleted numerous times already. However, you may want to refrain from applying templates that within the context with which you applied the Not a Vote template will generally only create animosity and incite a wave of personal attacks. Simply list the reasons for deletion, and let the community weigh in.

Is it a perfect process? Absolutely not. However, this is one of the reasons that we admins have a Speedy Delete authority, and is also one of the reasons that only admins and well established editors can close an AfD. If you make a strong, valid argument, and then find yourself overwhelmed by a string of socks and SPA's who are disagreeing with you for personal reasons or to protect a vested interest, then you want to bring that to someone's attention, either on the main AfD talk page, or one of the Administrator notice boards.

All in all, an AfD is by no means a final verdict on an article, so there really isn't any need to get too wrapped up. In fact, if you have valid material for the article that is critical, just go and add it to the article. Hiberniantears (talk) 13:05, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

No worries, mate. I've made far more of a spectacle of myself in these parts over the years than anything you're doing. Keep up the good work. I just wanted to mitigate any issues where in this case I know the concerns are (at least for the moment) unfounded. I'll admit I've only considered a few of the sources in identifying the valid ones, but from a cleanup perspective, please feel free to eliminate any garbage citations in the article, and feel free to say I asked you to do as much in your edit summaries. You are entitled to your own opinion, but would you please stop removing other people's comments? –Henning Makholm (talk) 23:16, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Knives Out[edit]

You always have the option of creating a new, better version of the article which properly cites the sources — but the exact text of the original article was

Deletion doesn't mean a band can never have an article, if a higher-quality one that better demonstrates the band's notability can be written — but there's no value in restoring that version of the article rather than starting over from scratch. Bearcat (talk) 02:19, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, it's far easier than some people think to write a deletable article about a keepable topic :-) Bearcat (talk) 02:26, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
