Village pump[edit]

Your recent edits to Template:Village pump have left it somewhat unreadable. Ntsimp (talk) 13:56, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It looks okay to me. What's the problem, and what browser are you using? the wub "?!" 13:58, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In Firefox 19.0.2, the "Other help and discussion locations" table completely overlaps the "Village pump sections" one, leaving lines of text and links on top of each other. The version just before your three edits looks fine. The same problem exists in Konqueror 4.9.5 (using the WebKit engine). Ntsimp (talk) 14:27, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I added another {{clear}}, does it look better now? the wub "?!" 14:34, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. That did it. Ntsimp (talk) 14:35, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to join the Darius Dhlomo Drive[edit]

Hello. You are invited to join Darius Dhlomo Drive, a project which aims to cleanup and resolve one of the oldest copyright investigations on the sire. We hope that you will join and help to clean what's left of the copyright violations. You are getting this invitation because you have helped out previously, and I am inviting you back to hopefully wrap this up. Wizardman 01:38, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

I like. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:55, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Glad you like it. I'm not sure why it was ever changed from that order really. the wub "?!" 16:45, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help Project newsletter : Issue 6[edit]

The Help Project Newsletter

Issue VI - April 2013

Open Help Conference

The Open Help Conference will be taking place June 15-19 in Cincinnati Ohio, USA. The conference includes two days of presentations and open discussions, followed by team "sprints" - collaborative efforts to write and improve documentation.

It has been suggested to send a team from Wikipedia/Wikimedia: to share our own knowledge about help, learn from others in the open source community working on similar problems, and to carry out a sprint to improve some aspect of Wikipedia's help.

There may be support available for volunteers to attend from the Participation Support program (and your editor is certainly hoping to be there!) Please join the discussion in Meta's IdeaLab if you're interested, and/or have suggestions about what we could work on.

Other news

If you don't wish to receive this newsletter on your talk page in future then just edit the participants page and add "no newsletter" next to your name.

Suggestions for future issues are welcome at Wikipedia:Help Project/Newsletter.

Hi. Regarding this edit, you're close, but you actually wanted to substitute this template (e.g., {{subst:Wikipedia:Newsletter...}}). Talk page messages are usually substituted to preserve how they looked when they were posted, but more importantly, archive bots won't be able to "see" the timestamp from that template, making those talk posts unable to be automatically archived. EdwardsBot takes whatever content you give it and posts it exactly, so if you set up the /Spam page with ~~~~~ and such, that should expand just fine when EdwardsBot runs. Not a big deal, but good to know for future newsletter deliveries. I hope you're well. --MZMcBride (talk) 22:55, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ah good point, I hadn't thought about auto-archiving bots (since I've always steered clear of them myself). Thanks for the tip, I'll bear it in mind next time. And thanks once again for the bot! the wub "?!" 12:58, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Eyes wanted at Help:Searching[edit]

Hi, Pete. I noticed your comment at Help talk:Searching#Page fork. I'm trying to improve the article Intro. and organization (WP search and Google search info. was all jumbled together), and have run into what appears to be ownership issues. As you noticed, the "owner" has even proposed forking or moving the page—presumably so that he can retain total ownership. I have listed it at WP:3O, but would appreciate other eyes. Great to know someone else that feels that way[edit]

Hi, the wub. I like your page.

Some stroopwafels for you![edit]

Thank you muchly for assessing the Help pages! <3 –Quiddity (talk) 21:56, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Mmmm stroopwafels! Thanks! I'm about to get on a plane, but once I'm home tomorrow am planning to start up an assessment drive with the Help Project so we can finish the job. the wub "?!" 22:09, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'll be semi-afk for a week from Friday, but will join in on my return (and/or look forward to seeing it completed then!  ;)
Hope your flight is free of children, turbulence, and neighbours with loud headphones or runny noses. –Quiddity (talk) 22:56, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
