Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Thomas H. White! My name is Ryan, aka Acetic Acid. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. In the long run, though, you'll find that the WikiSyntax is a lot easier and faster than those other ways. Here are a few links to get you started:

There are a lot of policies and guides to read, but I highly recommend reading over those first. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Please be sure to sign your name on Talk Pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? :)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a nice day. Sincerely, Ryan. 12:23, August 2, 2005 (UTC)

Nathan Stubblefield[edit]

Thanks for adding the scanned articles from Trumbell White and Waldon Fawcett. Stubblefield was an amazing inventor. I have followed his work for abut 40 years, and communicated with his son, shown in one of the illustrations. It just shows that for every Marconi or even Tesla, there were a hundred Stubblefields who labored without any reward or recognition. Edison 06:45, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Reginald Fessenden[edit]

You wouldn't happen to know the references well enough for the Reginald Fessenden article to put the in-line citations in place, would you? The article is very good but needs in-line citations to make it GA. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast 23:20, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Experimenter Publishing article[edit]

I found your Early Radio History web page a few years ago while doing research in Hugo Gernsback and Experimenter Publishing. It gave me some good leads; the science fiction folks ignore the radio contributions of Gernsback. I have just created an article on Experimenter Publishing on Wikipedia and would value any comments you have on it. -- SWTPC6800 (talk) 04:51, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

DYK for Electrophone (information system)[edit]

Updated DYK query.svg On 11 June 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Electrophone (information system), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Electrophone relayed theatre shows, opera performances, and church services over telephone lines? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Electrophone (information system). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Electrophone (information system)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

KUOM[edit]

Thank you for your contribution to KUOM regarding the early call sign of WGMS. Of the three sources cited, at least one (http://jeff560.tripod.com/call192x.html) does not in itself support the WGMS call sign for KUOM. Another page at the same site lists a possible frequency share at 1220 (jeff560.tripod.com/1928am.html), but not necessarily a relation other than that (which could be similar to the WCAL share time relationship). The additional two sources are apparently not online and cannot be reviewed for accuracy and context. Because there is little to no other data about this possible call sign, can you please confirm the information you added, preferably with online sources? Thank you! 2601:601:8701:F3AE:1051:9A6F:10AF:7CE6 (talk) 02:38, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

August 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Telefon Hírmondó. I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this: |image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]], instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do: |image=SomeImage.jpg. There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!!
