Controversy section in Norman Vincent Peale article
Hi. You might (or might not) be interested in the new "Controversy" section in the Norman Vincent Peale article that was added by an anonymous user in early December. I found it very POV, OR, very long, and hard to understand. I tried to edit it down to something appropriate, but the original author has reverted. Sorry for not repling earlier cause I've been busy the entire week due to school project work. After reading your proposal, I will support your plan cause I find your plan better than mind. I really like your User:Tinlinkin/The Amazing Race US as it is short and sweet, like The Amazing Race Asia. Each version of The Amazing Race (e.g. The Amazing Race Asia, The Amazing Race Central Europe & User:Aranho/The Amazing Race Singapore*) should have its own article as it will not only shorten the article, it will also make the article more understanding.
* This is a fictional reality game show and do not get confuse with other versions of The Amazing Race

Well, normally this isn't a problem because anything with "US" or "U.S." in the title usually redirects to one with "United States" (US Dollar and U.S. Dollar for example). I hold no personal opinion, but in text, "United States" is always shortened to "U.S.", so I don't see why titles shouldn't be at "U.S." rather than "US" either. If you feel the need to, then please go ahead and revert the move, although I do agree it's best that something be agreed on, no matter what the final result is. I do not intend to take part in any such discussion, however, and only did the move based on conventions within articles. – Chacor 05:33, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Seventh Avenue subway station, Manhattan
Hey, TLK (Tinlinkin for short). I noticed that from a past discussion at WT:NYCPT, I never really responded to one of your comments. Although it may be a little too late, I'd like to respond now. You wrote:
My concern is not about the classification of shared-line stations (DeKalb & Flatbush, 7th Avenue & 53rd Street, etc.), but the station articles as a primary topic and Wikipedia naming conventions. As I said, {{otheruses4}} is used for disambiguation when the article that the template is used in is the primary topic or the parent of a group of articles (emphasized for the basis of my argument). A page like 96th Street (New York City Subway) has no problems being a disambig page as each station can be considered as a target for the reader, and there is no hierarchy of importance. But if, say, Seventh Avenue (New York City Subway) takes on the contents of Seventh Avenue (IND Queens Boulevard Line), even if {{otheruses4}} is used, we are forced to assume that the 7th/53rd station is more important or notable than the others. I doubt that is the case. I would strictly oppose a move and others similar on this basis.
I noticed that you moved 50th Street (IND Eighth Avenue Line) to 50th Street (New York City Subway) (which was reverted). With that move, we are forced to assume the 8th Avenue station is somehow more notable than the 7th (or maybe the 6th). That is a bad judgment. The chaining issues remain, but do all sides need be addressed in the article name? I'm leaning towards no. The location and orientation of a station (foremost) along with which is the primary service should determine the article name, in my opinion for these cases. I also disagree with the current state of Canal Street (New York City Subway). I hope there is a better name for the Canal Street Broadway/Lexington/Nassau complex. If there is not, then I may settle on the Canal Street complex as the more notable than the 2 other stations and support the current arrangement. I still need to examine other examples like that. Do we accommodate all information on chaining in an article name? If that accommodation is made using (New York City Subway) as part of the name, I cannot agree with that.
I'm sorry I cannot be briefer with my explanation above.
Now that I think about it, the more you are right. It is very hard to assume one subway station is more important than another when they have the same name. Identifying Territories or countries

- I really appreciate that. Most would be sore. It just feels like a losing battle. Consensus is wonderful but one bad side product of it is that if you get a bunch of fans of a particular show together, it's sometimes hard to get anything encyclopedic into an article. There's just no reason to list every auditioner. It's very fansite-ish. Anyway. Subway
To answer the last question first, the debate (as well as the entire WikiProject) is open to anyone who wishes to join it, which is a fundamental principle of Wikipedia. Most wikiprojects do move their MOS pages to some title resembling "Wikipedia:Manual of Style (blah)" as an indication thereof. As for the first question, it's mostly a matter of perception. The page (or rather, the editors thereof) need to move in the direction of "this is a page with best practices, and we'd be happy to discuss other practices as well" and away from "we voted on this and therefore everybody Must Do This now until someone officially repeals it". Judged by the talk page there are a few people with the latter in mind, and, well, Wikipedia doesn't work that way. >Radiant< 11:45, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey Man,
I don't know if I'm asking this in the right place. I want to get your input on how a successful multimodal implementation shouldn't be considered as a benefit especially in the planning process. Maybe I need to put it in another place, but I guess the point I'm trying to make is that in Colroado we didn't have to raise taxes or start charging tolls.
Just curious on your viewpoint, feel free to shoot an email so I can understand this wiki thing more! I want to contribute but in the right way.

- Hi Tinlinkin, Thanks for the note. I'd prefer to stay away from email also. I agree with your ascertation that large metropolitan areas such as Los Angeles, NYC and London where it seems any change to existing infrastructure is fighting an uphill battle. Good planning is the key to any success-- If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. And especially in New York, it's difficult to say any solution will provide an economical benefit. Some cities for one reason or another don't explore other viable options, and Seattle is one of them. The Multi-modal along with the design build methodology really worked well in Denver and may be something that is a viable option.
Just a heads up that Andrew Saul (vice-Chairman of the MTA) has been nominated for featured article status here. Any input, comment and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, there is not that much info on him as it relates to the MTA, and being an !expert, I'm not quite sure how well I can flesh it out. Mineola Station's South Platform
I noticed this one quote here on your article on Mineola (LIRR station);
"There are two side platforms, though the south platform is configured to accommodate an island platform if a third track on the Main Line is constructed."
Are you sure this was configured to handle the former LIRR line between Mineola & West Hempstead (LIRR station)? I've been through the station, and know about that aspect of it's history, but never got a good look at the platform you're talking about. ----DanTD 17:04, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
