Interesting behavior of a Wiki admin!
Sorry, but I'm not letting you off the hook for allowing vandalism on a Wikipedia entry (Chuck Knipp). Delete this, ignore this, archive it to the heavens, but as long as I'm here at Wikipedia, I will continue to acknowledge your allowing racist, homophobic and untrue statements made towards African-American journalists to be on Wikipedia entries. Sorry! :) StopSQLiquor (talk) 02:44, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Anti-Semitic troll

Greetings -- just FYI, the unblock you just declined was this one. Pay special attention to the screeds left on the page (Jayron deleted the worst of them) and his insulting style--most trolls just insult people with the standard abusive Anglo-Saxon words, and they're easy to ignore, and once in a while there is one who insults with real subtlety and malice, including implied threats. This is a nasty one, IMO. Cheers, and thanks, Antandrus (talk) 06:05, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mmbabies threat posted

Why did you say to WP:RBI on the recent threat made by user:Mmbabies. Well, I saw a the ANI posting of a someone stating that a person made a death threat to the Betabot; and the community went all the offence saying that "if targeted a person in question" then we should call the police. The ANI complait I posted on this idoit, has a person's name mentioned in the threat. If you keep saying to RBI; and WHAT IF something does happend .... and Mmbabies does seriously harm someone. What are you going to say about that. To reply or not, drop me a line at my talk page. --Rio de oro (talk) 16:20, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am really too tired to sit here and argue with you about this. That was just my opinion on the situation, if you want to call the cops, then be my guest. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 16:51, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

March 14 OR COTW

Hello again or welcome if you are new to WP:WikiProject Oregon! Last week we did a picture drive and a NRHP creation drive. It’s hard to track the picture results, but I know I saw quite a few pictures added, so great job. With NRHP we added 7 that I saw: Mitchell Recreation Area, Salem First United Methodist Church, Portland City Hall, Crater Lake Lodge, Central Library (Portland, Oregon), Watchman Lookout Station, and Alvin T. Smith House; with most now nominated for DYK’s! So great work everybody.

This week, its back to stubs with one of the largest newspapers in the state, The Register-Guard, and a request with Oregon Coast. Feel free to help with either one, and the paper article is so short a DYK should be pretty easy to get (just need 5X expansion). As always, to opt out, opt in, or suggest future collaborative efforts, click here. Aboutmovies (talk) 19:02, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the warning. I'll remove all indentifying information and such. Quick heads up I wasn't done with the RfA. I was going to work for a week before opening. You are obliged to your opinion but I wasn't finished...though good point rewording is needed, Please as I am using my Wii could you untransclude..if it is...haven't checked. Rgoodermote  01:34, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
AGGG! Oh, I had no idea, it looked like you had excepted the nom, and oh....my bad. Please expect my apologies. Tiptoety talk 01:36, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, might I recommend that you well, dont work on the questions in the actual RfA, but instead on a subpage for this reason. Users are going to find that page and start !voting. Also, now that !votes have come in, I would recommend that instead of re-wording you just strike the comments you want to get rid of and add the new ones below, otherwise users are going to get confused. Tiptoety talk 01:41, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah sorry about that. Probably is best to CSD that and call it a fuck up on my part...really hope no one reverts that. Becuase I had forgotten to tell you that I was not planning on it this week. Well mistakes can be fixed and this is one of them. I will take your suggestion and subpage.Rgoodermote  01:45, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I am requesting CSD G7 (hope I remembered it this time, even though I didn't make it is my RfA) on the RfA. Not to be persistant. But I messed up and I am going to wait another month to try again. Could you please do me that favor mate? Rgoodermote  01:57, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm. you are welcome to tag it for CSD, but because it does have some content within it I am not willing to delete it. I am not really sure what the rule is for this type of situation, might just be better to withdraw and explain the situation in your statement. Actually I am going to ask another admin. Tiptoety talk 02:08, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I just closed it as withdrawn, there is just too much content to delete it. During your next RfA just explain the situation, it will not hurt you. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 03:38, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry overreacted. I have been having a rough week so I really just didn't have the thought capacity at the moment to think of something rational. Rgoodermote  16:22, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, no worries, it happens to the best of us. But just so that you know in the future request G7 means that you are the author of the page/or it has been blanked and it does not have a substantial amount of edits made to it (which your RfA had), but like I said before no worries. Tiptoety talk 18:28, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
knew I called the wrong one, which would you have suggested? Thanks mate, in one months time. I will go again and next time...I will remember to tell you. As well....it will be a final copy. Rgoodermote  00:20, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Umm... I dont think you could tag if for speedy under any category. Tiptoety talk 03:54, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well...am I glad I decided not to tag...that would have made a reeeeaallll good impression upon people. But like I said..rough day. Anyways, tag this as done? Rgoodermote  16:43, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
 Done Tiptoety talk 17:38, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Newb admin with a quick question

Speedily withdraw it and save the content I would guess. I'm not sure whether this has happened so there's nothing written down in policy. When the real nomination goes through just explain the whole situation. Malinaccier (talk) 03:32, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that is what I suggested in the above conversation, just note quite sure. I feel dumb, now I have to clean up my mess. Thanks for your help. Tiptoety talk 03:33, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Medal

When I was a new admin, I would always grow faint at the mention of deleting as much as 20 speedy articles. Once you get past the fear of screwing up after the community has entrusted you with the tools and you become bold, that's when you manage to clear backlogs. Don't start big, go small and then go large. When all else fails, a vodka shot helps get you giddy enough to clear backlogs effortlessly. :) bibliomaniac15 Midway upon life's journey... 04:46, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that is really actually good advice...and is true. I am scared of messing up, and as such do not delete everything that probably could be. And vodka always makes doing things easier, though I could get blocked for WUI, (wikiing under the influence.) :P Tiptoety talk 04:50, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Start with easy stuff like G1, G2, and other obvious stuff. Later you'll get a feel for the tougher A7, G11, and so on. Images are probably a thing to be avoided right now if you didn't actively work in tagging. bibliomaniac15 Midway upon life's journey... 04:52, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No I did (tagging that is), and actually very often. Its just tagging does get you in quite as much trouble as deleting. (If you know what I mean) Tiptoety talk 04:53, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you allowing vandalism?

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Interesting that a Wiki admin would revert a vandalized article (Chuck Knipp) back to the vandalized version. Not only are you allowing comments that certain bloggers are using illegal tactics to "stalk" this person, but you're allowing another author to be slandered as a lesbian (and a Florida State student). Perhaps you are a fan of Mr. Knipp, but you need to keep your fanboy behavior off Wikipedia. When a journalist is referred to as a "stalker" and unverified claims of illegal activity are written into a Wiki article and you think that's okay, something is wrong. StopSQLiquor (talk) 16:05, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Erm... Tiptoety talk 18:24, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't you? Uh, yeah. It IS you. Lessee...
- Blogger Keith Boykin also has [1]Knipp says that "Cannick is a professional victim and her obsession with me is creepy." (untrue and unverified)
- Black Entertainment Television writer Jennifer Daniels (a black lesbian Florida State University Undergraduate) - (verified as untrue on both accounts)
Okay, just making sure. Like I said, your fanboy love is interfering with your editing. But I see you have other Wiki admins backing you up, allowing for this kind of thing, so eh. StopSQLiquor (talk) 19:42, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Hey there, I read your comment, and I guess that you must not know that much about me. Don't take this as an attack, I just thought I'd fill you in.

I have been an editor for three years and once even ran for adminship. I have had my age displayed in my profile for just about those three years. I have never had any real grief or problems involving it. The only time where it has been negative is when troll editors would use it as ammo to attack me and to claim that I know nothing about cars, simply because I reverted their edits where they inserted pictures of their heavily modded car into its article, or I reverted their edits where they claim that the Chevy Venture is the greatest minivan ever, and that it is going to be redesigned. Plus, although I do state my age and have a (crappy) picture of me, I have no other personally identifiable information about myself. In fact, my profile gives very little information about me personally, but instead focuses on my editing.

I am no idiot, and I know well enough about being safe on the internet. But I am glad that you took concern, I like how we all look out for each other here. Karrmann (talk) 00:19, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption/Permissions

I finished reading through the Copyright subpage, and since there is no assignment, have moved on to Permissions. Here are my answers.

 1. What is a permission? A permission is an ability that a user is granted in addition to the powers of an unregistered user or a normal registered user. Correct
 2. What pages are un-registered users able to edit? Unregistered users may edit any page that isn't semi-protected or protected. Correct
 3. What is an auto confirmed account? An autoconfirmed account is a registered account that was made more than four days ago. Correct
 4. What permissions do registered accounts have? Registered users can edit any non-fully protected page, can upload files, and can move and create pages. Correct
 5. Who can grant rollback? Administrators can grant rollback. Correct
 6. What does rollback enable you to do? Rollback enables you to revert a page to the most recent version OTHER than by the most recent editor. Correct
 7. What should you not use rollback for? You shouldn't use rollback to help you abuse the three-revert rule in content disputes. Correct
 8. What are administrators able to do? Administrators have access to rollback, can give the rollback permission to users, vision of a special page allowing them to see which pages aren't watched by any users, ability to protect and unprotect pages, locking revisions in their current state until a sysop or above edits it, the ability to view edits that have been deleted, and are able to block users. Correct
 9. How do you request adminship? You request adminship by either being nominated or nominating yourself and following the process at Requests for Adminship (RFA) Correct
 10. What are bureaucrats main duties? Bureaucrats' main duties are to take care of user permissions. They can promote users to administrator or bureaucrat status, as well as control bot permissions. Correct
 11. What technical abilities do stewards have? Stewards have the ability to control all users' access levels on every language of Wikipedia. This is because Steward is not a Wikipedia title, but a Wikimedia title. Correct
 12. What does checkuser enable a user to check? Checkuser enables a user to check the IP address of certain users, to see if a user is using another account as a sockpuppet. Correct
 13. What is oversight? Oversight is the ability to hide a previous revision of a page from public view. Correct

Eternal Legacy Notable?

There's a band I want to create an article for, but I'm not sure whether they'd be considered notable or not. They aren't underground by any means, but they arent a major band. They have an album out on an indie record label and have gotten some press attention. Please check their pages out if you have time and let me know. Thanks! Site: [1] MySpace: [2]. Ok, the first thing I am going to have you do is read WP:MUSIC and see if you think it meets notability guidelines, if you are still unsure than I would be happy to let you know my thoughts. One thing to keep in mind is that the band must have reputable third/secondary party sources the verify the content within the article. Please note that myspace pages do not count as real sources, as anyone can create those for any type of band. Hope that helps, Tiptoety talk 02:02, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry! :) StopSQLiquor (talk) 02:44, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
