Punctuation changes[edit]

Hello, I see that you don't edit here very often, but I just wanted to explain why I undid your recent edit to Sarah McLachlan. The Wikipedia manual of style may differ from what you are used to, but some of the changes you made were either unnecessary alterations (in which case the original style used is preferred) or actually go against our manual of style recommendations. The manual of style we use is extensive and easy to get lost in, but see for example WP:MDASH about spacing em dashes and MOS:LQ for how we deal with punctuation in quotation marks (we don't include punctuation inside quote marks that are used for song titles for example). Looking over the edit I undid, I see that you also added some commas; you were probably right to do that as that's more to do with which variation of English is being used (in this case, Canadian). I didn't notice those as I was undoing your edit (it's quite hard to see things like that when looking at a recent change), and I apologise for changing those back. Hope this all makes sense! --BelovedFreak 12:49, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
