December 2008[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Gimme danger (talk) 23:49, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. Gimme danger (talk) 23:49, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 12:28, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm getting the hang of this, thanks --Tlrampa (talk) 22:43, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There may be a conflict of interest when describing this website. People are free to click on the link to explore it, but a detailed description/infomercial is not necessary. Also, although it is interesting that there are scans of the Corgi editions at [1], could you clarify if there is any copyright on these works? Quotes are fine, but Wikipedia articles cannot contain links with large copyright violations. Thanks.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 16:36, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What conflict of interst are you talking about? I have always had a detailed description and don't plan to change it beucase you don't think it necessary, many like to know a website is in various languages. There are scans of Corgi editions everywhere on the web, what has this got to do with Wikipedia? --Tlrampa (talk) 22:37, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Tlrampa. Your edits at Lobsang Rampa have been discussed at the 3RR Noticeboard. Though no violation was found in this case, I caution you against using Wikipedia for advertising or promotion. Admins are allowed to enforce our rules in that area by blocks. If you continue to revert in that article, you may indeed pass the WP:3RR threshold and be open to sanctions.
