Blocked[edit]

Hi AmiDaniel, you have blocked me for 'Repeated vandalism despite final warning. User was blocked using VP.' This is absolutely absurd as I have not made one post/edit on wikipedia. I think I know why I was blocked though. Earlier today i signed onto Wikipedia from my school. The "vandalism" was probably by some random person from my school and I just happened to log on under the school's IP Adress. Could you please unblock me so I can create/edit the pages that I joined Wikipedia for.

The IP Address I was blocked for was 202.6.138.33. My IP Address is 203.2.124.233 (my IP Address is dynamic so I can't garuntee that it will still be 203.2.124.233 when an admin checks it.)

Welcome to Wikipedia![edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Tobes00, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  -- GraemeL (talk) 12:35, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As you just posted a question to Wikipedia:New contributors' help page it doesn't seem that you're still blocked, so I'll remove the request.

I also answered your question on the help page. I moved it to the bottom of the page as that's where new posts should go.

Feel free to add the unblock request back if you are still having problems editing and to contact me on my talk page if you need more help. --GraemeL (talk) 12:35, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help and in future I will avoid logging on to Wikipedia from school --Tobes 12:42, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked Again[edit]

Hello Changlc,

You have blocked my for 'Repeated vandalism despite multiple warnings.' under the IP adress of 202.6.138.331. My IP adress is 203.2.124.233.

This is the second time it's happened and frankly Im starting to get annoyed. Read the post below to see why I was blocked under that IP adress before. --Tobes 07:22, 25 June 2006 (UTC) [reply]

Blocked for the Third Time[edit]

Once again I was blocked. This time by TigerShark for 'Repeat vandalism' under the IP Address of 202.6.138.34

TigerShark, can you please read below. This is getting absolutely absurd. --Tobes 12:31, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

:Can an admin please have a look at this issue. I actually looked up the IP Address 202.6.138.34 and it has an extensive list of contributions. If you look at my contributions I have only made 24. And 202.6.138.34 isnt even my IP Address. This is seriously annoying me, so just to attract someone's attention I am going to place the {{helpme}} template after this message. I am sorry if this is the wrong thing to do to attract attention but i've only been a member for two days and this is the third time this has happened. --Tobes 13:38, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, that is the wrong thing to do. {{helpme}} is only for use by newcomers for help with basic editing. Please wait for your {{unblock}} request to be answered. Thank you. - Tangotango 13:40, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your reply, I only wish the admin staff were as quick with {{unblock}} responses as the help staff are with {{helpme}} responses. But I really think this is taking too long, its been over an hour and a half now. --Tobes 13:43, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Someone appears to have unblocked me so can I just say thank you to them. --Tobes 14:02, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fourth time, I wonder if I can get to 20[edit]

I've finally figured it out. It's been my damn dynamic ip all along. I have tried to renew my ip three times now but each time my router gets the same one! Can someone please unblock me, I havent done anything wrong. --Tobes 07:22, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocked?[edit]

You should be unblocked. Let me know if you have any more trouble. (ESkog)(Talk) 07:23, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The only way is to keep doing what you've been doing. In this case, it's partially my fault as there is a warning on that IP's userpage to avoid long blocks. Just always remember to include the IP address with your {{unblock}} note. (ESkog)(Talk) 07:46, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks. I now have a new IP which I hope didn't belong to a vandal in a previous life. --Tobes 07:49, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

1-pentanol[edit]

Did you ever get the answer to 'how many isomers of 1 pentanol' the answer seems to be 1 (one) - a trick question perhaps?. HappyVR 15:46, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like it could of been worded better - so maybe that was the intention - to take up time. If you're still counting the structural isomers of C5H12O don't forget the ethers (eg methyl butyl ether), plus some isomers like 2 pentanol can exist as enantiomers.HappyVR 15:55, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question about Wikify Tag[edit]

Hi, could you tell me why you added a wikify tag on the extended overview of City of (Angel episode)? As I understand it, the main part of wikifying a section, as opposed to an entire article, is adding appropriate links. But there's also a principle of just linking something the first time it appears in an article. And most things that you might want to link in the extended overview are already linked in the summary. --Jwwalker 02:06, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A message from 72.75.44.236[edit]

I am copying this from your user page:

Dear Tobes00,

I am sorry for vandalizing the National Organization for Women page. Please forgive me. I do not want to be banned from Wikipedia. 72.75.44.236 (talk · contribs · count) ( -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 07:34, 2 July 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Woah! Careful not to issue such warnings for a users first test edit, as you can see you scared the user off mentioning block.--Andeh 15:32, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think I could have really been any nicer to him. He vandalised my user page and vandalised the National Organization for Women page so that it read "National Organization of Douchebag Bitches". Tobes (talk) 15:34, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He didn't really vandalise your userpage, the user was a newbie and just placed it in the wrong place. Please try to avoid biting the newbies. Thanks :-) --Andeh 15:38, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sure, I always try to be in good faith. But honestly, what kind of a well meaning person makes an edit saying 'National Organization of Douchebag Bitches'? Tobes (talk) 15:42, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It was simply a test edit by a newbie, I could understand you using {{test2}} but {{test3}} was a bit over the top for their first bad edit so I had to say something.--Andeh 15:48, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It seemed like a legit warning, so I reverted it back. I think the user reverted to an old IP version or something by mistake.--Andeh 15:26, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, it was an accident. I found some vandalism so I tried to revert it. I must have clicked something wrong. Green caterpillar 15:38, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I thought it was, thats why I originally removed the warning. Tobes (talk) 15:39, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Expanding liver dialysis[edit]

You put up an {{expand}} notice on liver dialysis which directs one to the talk page and Requests for expansion for details. Neither place, as far as I can tell, has any details about what is you think is missing. Could you specify what it is that you think is missing? Thanks. Nephron  T|C 06:40, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not actually sure. It was a stub and I thought it's too big to be a stub, but it really should be a bit bigger. So I removed the stub notice and added {{expand}}. Not being an expert on liver dialysis myself, I was hoping that someone else could come along and expand on the article. If you dont agree with the notice, then I'm happy for you to remove it. Tobes (talk) 08:32, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dutch keyboard[edit]

Hi Tobes,

I've noticed you have reverted my change in the section Keyboards on IJ (letter). However, I can assure you that most people in the Netherlands use an American keyboard and NOT a Dutch one - at least, that's my experience over the last 20 years.

Richard

<reply received>

Hi Tobes,

I know creating an account is easy - I have one on the Dutch wikipedia. Maybe I should create one on the English one as well (and on the German one, for that matter) but the username I used on the Dutch wikipedia is already in use on the English one and I didn't consider it that urgent. Well - maybe I can think of some other name. If you could revert your reversion it would be much appreciated.

Richard

FYI: I have created a new account Richardw_nl so from now on I won't be so anonymous anymore. Richard 11:51, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Peoplesoft[edit]

Tobes - you reverted my edits removing heresay about PeopleSoft implementations, you assume these were a test, but in fact they are not. I'm not sure how much you know about Peoplesoft, but the Peoplesoft page is rapidly turning into a gripes page full of uninformed comments about PeopleSoft use at US educational institutions (itself a tiny proportion of the Worldwide PeopleSoft user community) please reinstate my edits - thanks 86.135.213.189 11:58, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: My Edit to Hrithik Roshan[edit]

I haven't even ever visited the Hrithik Roshan page. There has been some confusion regarding the IP address probably. Or else someone has somehow been phishing my IP.
