Estonia article[edit]

Please do not change the article sections by removing-deleting the chapters. These chapters have been created according to majority nations articles where such chapters also exist. Please continue to contribute into the chapter texts.

  • Summary of the 4 March 2007 Parliament of Estonia election results - this has relatively low value on the nation article as the page is not about the elections its instead of the country - a short summary. The table should be in the Politics of Estonia as it is specialized information about the Politics of Estonia topic.
  • Military is a separate article almost in every nations article. therefore I see no reason to remove it and place it under Politics chapter - the armed forces and politics are 2 different topics.
  • There is no practical need for more headings as there are - for excample Demograhpcs - cultural and ethnic diversity originally. Proposed extra language section. The language and languages spoken in Estonia were mentioned in the original version: with main article tags.

Karabinier (talk) 21:36, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good, if you think military need a big separate section, then go for it. But don't remove entire sections from the article. Removing substantial sections are easily considered as vandalism, especially when they are among the best cited in the article.Turkuun (talk) 19:25, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Guys, I think we need some mediation here, seems to me the dispute is more about style and layout, I can assist with this. Martintg (talk) 20:36, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's about huge sections he deletes. Also, he replaces them with non-referenced statements that conflict with citations from Statistics Estonia (which he deletes).Turkuun (talk) 20:41, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As for layout, there is also a dispute, but I'm fine with whatever, just not replacing the best cited sections with factually incorrect content. Maybe you are an expert and could help with the layout question? Turkuun (talk) 20:44, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I can understand your frustration, but templating the regulars isn't the way to go here, since Karabinier has made huge contributions to Estonia related articles and he is certainly no vandal, so if he has deleted text, there must be a good reason. Just because something is sourced doesn't mean it should be included, it is a matter of judgement. I have a fair bit of knowledge of the subject matter, so I can assist in working through the issues. Give me a moment to look at what is being changed, and I'll attempt to propose something acceptable to both you and him. Martintg (talk) 21:08, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks for helping with the article! Look at the economy section.Turkuun (talk) 21:20, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My contribution to the article has ALWAYS references and sources which I have added unlike you who call the references added by me earlier to be your ownes to back up your edits. Please do not talk before thinking and reading. I do not add text randomly - a la lets add this and that... This article has been vandalized far too many times. Karabinier (talk) 01:38, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Then why the largest industries in Estonia do not deserve a single word? What is wrong with machinery and metal industries? Why you delete Estonia's success in food and electronics industries? Why everything must be dedicated to pollution? Where are your references for statements like "Oil shale (or kukersite) and limestone deposits, along with forests which cover 47% of the land, play key economic roles in this generally resource-poor country."? Well, there ain't any, because oil shale accounts for 1% of employement and 4% of GDP [1], out of which mining is even smaller part, around 1% of GDP. It's seems you are trying to bash Estonia instead of helping provide objective information about Estonian economic composition. Objective information would be like economic statistics by Statistics Estonia, which you delete. Pollution is a big problem, especially in Idä-Virumaa, but so it is in dozens other countries. China, Russia, or Czech Republic are some of the most polluted in the world, but their country articles are not portraying them as pollution-dominated economies. Estonia has made huge progress, cutting some measures by an order of magnitude, which you also delete. Wikipedia is not a place for original research, which means you have to provide references instead of deleting references to statistics that do not support your prejudices.Turkuun (talk) 18:31, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Guys, instead of simply reverting each others edits, how about working through each issue one by one before making changes. I think both of you want to improve the article, so let's work together on this. As a start, Turkuun, can you look at the points on Karabinier's talk page and comment on each one? Martintg (talk) 02:12, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • This one time I had a little chirpy bird called Queer and he was my bestest friend in the whole wide world. I need a new friend to call Queer now will you be my little Queer? (User talk:203.49.593talk) 18:38, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Elion Ettevõtted, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. A warning about repeated copyright violations[edit]

You have also inserted large sections of text 100% copied from non-free source and reinserted it multiple times in the article Estonia. You have been given multiple appropriate warning by other editors. Contributors who repeatedly post copyrighted material despite appropriate warnings may be blocked from editing by any administrator to prevent further problems. This is made clear in Wikipedia:Copyright violations, which you have been advised to read.

Also you have added information which is not based on accurate data. Also you trying have restructure already well functioning article. These edits have not gained approval from other mayor article editors. It seems that You are refusing to contribute into sections without changing the hole article logic build-up. This can be considered as vandalism.

Karabinier (talk) 18:26, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To improve the article, put your concerns in the talk page. The only thing you have given is the claim that something is "inaccurate".Turkuun (talk) 18:38, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright concerns at Estonia[edit]

Hello. I am investigating a copyright matter listed at the copyright problems board on June 27th in connection to the article Estonia. I have requested follow-up information at the article's talk page so that I can determine if the ticket should be closed. Thanks. :) Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:57, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

Hi Turkuun, I wonder whether you have any sources for your claim that Switzerland has one of the most capitalist economies in the world? Otherwise it would to be deleted. Greetings --hroest 16:42, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
