Additions to various Camouflage articles[edit]

Hallo, and welcome to Wikipedia and to the Camouflage family of articles. Your knowledge is useful and welcome. However, I have edited the section in the top-level article for length, as well as formatting the references to maintain a consistent citation style (the article, and most of the others in the family, use the {{cite book | title=.... | author=... | publisher=... | year=}} template, with a similar thing for journal papers).

It isn't generally a great idea to copy the same or very similar stuff into multiple articles - it feels to everyone else as if you are spamming, and it tends to clutter articles with material they do not need. For example, the main Camouflage article is not about military camouflage, but about the entire topic; military applications are an instance of that, and military history is a subsection of that part of the article. In such a situation, detailed blow-by-blow accounts of who commanded what and when they substituted locally-dyed cloth etc are not really relevant, and distract from the main story.

I will look over your other contributions and edit them down if necessary; in future, if you could take a look at how things are done in an article, and try to keep to the same way of doing things, that would be appreciated. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 14:57, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
