Please go to the article talk page to discuss this further. You have already reverted four times on this and are therefore in breach of WP:3RR. I'd strongly advise that discussion is the way forward on this now. - SchroCat (talk) 08:53, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

  1. I didn't edit the Albert Toft page on the 24/07/13 and I edited it twice on the 25/07/13. Please could you tell me how I have broken the 3-Revert rule?
  2. The term 'English' is unambiguous in the UK but in the USA (and other countries) it's used interchangably with 'British'. A disambiguation link is necessary.
  3. May I ask why you've suddenly taken an interest in the Albert Toft page? Almost all your other edits are cinema-related.

  • I've declined to block you at this point, but please be aware that continually reverting other editors is disruptive and may lead to blocks in the future. See here for details: WP:EW. Please discuss the issue on the talk page instead. Mark Arsten (talk) 15:48, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
I'm keeping an eye on SchroCat to make sure that he doesn't try this sort of thing again. Unknown Unknowns (talk) 11:32, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Lummis article[edit]

the merge was decided Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Canon_William_Lummis <--- here. Kwsn(Ni!) 16:04, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

You sort of misformed the AfD when you made it, nothing major, happens to people on their first ones. Just give me a minute to do something else and I'll take a good look at it. Kwsn(Ni!) 12:53, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

I took at a look at it, and I must say, the second paragraph you had was a very good point. Also, for future reference, check out this section on how to list AfD's.

Hi, the recent edit you made to Denim has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. - ALLSTAR echo 12:47, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

The word 'denim' is derived from the French phrase 'serge de Nimes' (please see the article). I assume you have no objections if I reinstate it in the 'French words and phases' category? Unknown Unknowns (talk) 12:52, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm quite sorry; not sure why I reverted that, probably got confused with another edit. · AndonicO Hail! 13:55, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

SAving private ryan[edit]

It's because they are notable in themselves - as someone had already told you They're notable pure and simple. If a soverign entity like the Republic of Ireland lends troops to participate in the filming of a movie that's notable. If members of a small hobby group get jobs as extras in a film that isn't. RI army doing something = notable, a few hobbists doing something = not. Unless Steve S said "I must have X involved in the film", then that would make them notable. --Fredrick day (talk) 12:23, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for bring the page to my attention - looking at it, they don't seem notable to me - I'll AFD it a bit later, I expect it will be then be deleted - good job spotting that. I'd do it now but I'm setting up a new PC and don't have the concentration for it. --Fredrick day (talk) 13:00, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
So you removed a link from 'Saving Private Ryan' to another Wikipedia page without even reading it? How do you justify your administrator status? Unknown Unknowns (talk) 13:26, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

I notice you have an interest in the townland of Aghadrumsee, may I ask why?

Also, if you are willing, Id like to ask for your help in expanding the articles of the local townlands, in and around Killyfole.

KDDA (talk) 16:24, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

I'm interested in the South Fermanagh area as I spent my early childhood there. Unfortunately I don't know much about the place so I restrict my activities to looking out for vanadalism, checking references, fixing links (etc). I hope you're successful in expanding these articles - some of them definitely need it!
Unknown Unknowns (talk) 08:01, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

I get the impression that the sysop's are not very happy with the information I'm posting as it is original research. The problem is that there is a severe lack of information regard this area and the KDDA want to change that. I originally thought that the wikipedia would be an ideal place to compile this local knowledge, before the the town-lands in Fermanagh are lost like in so many other places in Ireland. This allows many people to challenge the information, like the translation of Aghadrumsee. Please see this link I personally believe this translation, from "Aghadromsillagh" makes more sense. The reason for this is that there is also a "Coolnassillagh" in the area. I think over time, and the fact that the map makes at the time were translating it "as heard" the name has been corupted. The orginal name of "Aghadromsillagh" would mean "Field on the hillock of Sally trees"

Do you know anything about wikipedia templates?

KDDA (talk) 15:29, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

I've never used Wikipedia templates but if you search for that text you'll find a page on them.
I think the main thing with Wikipedia is that you should cite sources for what you write. I've changed the Aghadrumsee etymology section for that reason, better sourced material always takes precedence. Unknown Unknowns (talk) 16:37, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

I believe both translations have equal merit and are both worth a mention. The fact is that whatever happened to the original name it has ended up as "Aghadrumsee", this could have been by purpose/design. Until evidence is found to contrary, both translation should be included. Whats your thoughts on this matter?

KDDA (talk) 17:29, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

I agree so I've included the original text but made clear that it's only folklore. Unknown Unknowns (talk) 11:24, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Just to throw a spanner in the works, I found Aghadrumsee referred to as "Black Dogs Lane"! There is a legend of a large black dog with huge flaming eyes. However, it didn't seem to do anything other then pick its victims up on its back and give them a terror-stricken ride normally throwing them off into mud or into a gorse bush! Its so called victims are normally intoxicated at the time. LMAO Its related to the fairy's you spoke of, as a fairy dog! I think its called "Cu Sìth", possibly a "Púca". Thought you might be interested in hearing that one.

KDDA (talk) 22:31, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Thanks - the black dog myth is a fairly common one in the British Isles - and even Latin America! Unknown Unknowns (talk) 11:05, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Jazz Mellor[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Jazz Mellor. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jazz Mellor. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:13, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Nomination of Neco Scooters for deletion[edit]

A discussion has begun about whether the article Neco Scooters, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Neco Scooters until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Biker Biker (talk) 23:53, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

December 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Neco Scooters. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Biker Biker (talk) 09:19, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

The template was removed in good faith, please see the Neco talk page. Unknown Unknowns (talk) 09:38, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
I see that. I have now reinstated the template to the page. --Biker Biker (talk) 10:13, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
For reference, that same message appears in every AfD-nominated article. I can see how it would cause confusion, it made me look twice. --Biker Biker (talk) 10:46, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Fenwick Groupe[edit]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Fenwick Groupe requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the notability of the subject, Speedy delete contest button.png. Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

See the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Inks.LWC (talk) 08:30, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

Please could you not nominate pages for speedy deletion unless they clearly violate Wikipedia's rules? This page did not and has been retained, but only because another editor intervened in time. Unknown Unknowns (talk) 19:28, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Royal Wolverhampton School logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Vespa on Indonesia[edit]

I added some stuff to Indonesia section of Vespa entry. Indonesian history of Vespa is rarely undocumented. Some blog wrote supposed to be a newspaper article, but I couldn't find the article on internet written by its own publisher.

My reference relied heavily on Flickr's collection of a Vespa Indonesia employee Pak Jorgen on his 1972-1976 Jakarta assignment.

A googling reveals:

Flickr and blogs aren't reliable sources but I've added something based on the Tempo article. Unknown Unknowns (talk) 22:35, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:C plus plus book.PNG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:C plus plus book.PNG, which you've sourced to (Book Cover). I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 00:42, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Edits to Martin Smith, SWP[edit]

The edits you have made recently to Martin Smith and SWP violated the biographies of living persons policy, which requires excellent sourcing for what you were trying to add. If you wish to discuss this matter further, do so only via email to myself or the functionaries team. Someguy1221 (talk) 01:25, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Sorry, the information I added was already in the public domain. Martin Smith could have already taken legal proceedings against various websites (or lodged formal complaints with various universities and student bodies) if he had wished to dispute it. Unknown Unknowns (talk) 10:10, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
That the information is easily found online is irrelevant, in fact. Unless and until it is carried by a reliable source, it cannot appear on Wikipedia. Someguy1221 (talk) 02:36, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

You Have Been Whaled![edit]

Jumping Humpback whale.jpg

You've been squished by a whale!
Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know you did something really silly.

It is generally considered manners to ask an editors permission before you move their draft into mainspace. I'm talking about Ruth Archer which you appear to have copied from here. If you were not sure if the draft was finished or not then the best thing to do would be to contact the editor and ask if the draft was ready for mainspace. Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.--5 albert square (talk) 21:09, 17 September 2015 (UTC)

On a more serious note, an author—including a Wikipedian—owns the copyright to their own writing. Although all text on Wikipedia is licensed to allow editing and redistribution, the original author still retains copyright, and by failing to attribute them you violate their copyright and breach the terms of the license. More generally, it's just rude to copy something wholesale from somebody's userspace and paste in mainspace without so much as a by your leave. Please don't do that kind of thing again (and if you've done it elsewhere, please let me know so I can tidy it up), and when you get a minute please read WP:CWW. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:31, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
I just want to know two things: Why did you not contact me to ask about the status of the draft? It's obvious from my contributions that I'm an active editor, so I would have replied to your inquiry. And, more importantly, why did you do it? I didn't consider my draft to be finished and I wasn't ready to move it. I have spent years working on that article, and I was quite hurt to see that all my time and effort had been for nothing. - JuneGloom07 Talk 00:41, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
I'm sorry for upsetting you. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort so I didn't think I was doing anything wrong. 5 albert square seems to have put things right now. Unknown Unknowns (talk) 09:25, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
