Any reason to remove my protection request?

Why did you remove my request for protection for the feyli page? It was a legitimate request for protection from vandalism. Can you state the reason? 5.150.236.238 (talk) 15:11, 10 November 2013 (UTC) You have it entirely backwards. I was trying to remove vandalism edits by a vandal. I was filing for protection for a page when you removed it. Look at the previous edits in the feyli page, and look at the history of the contributions by the same user whose edits I removed. You have no case here. The same person whose edits you're protecting has insistently made tendetious edits and vandalized the feyli page for months now. The user has broken consensus and dispute resolution guidelines there are. 5.150.236.238 (talk) 15:15, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Iñigo, I edited your information on Kick Ass because I thought the information was relevant. The narrator spends the first minutes of the metrage telling us how he becomes kick ass. This is also important to understand how he is taken for a gay. I thoght this contributed to the understanding of how the character was formed. Moreover, this didn't seem to me a spoiler. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.146.74.103 (talk) 09:28, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Dear Aleksa thank u 4 bringing the paper but a single paper which is yet to be published can not be atributed to the claims you made by surpassing numerous same conclusions indicated by various peer scientists before on R1a1, yes the paper have gravity! so i have put it in the R1a1 section with the main sentence not the whole abstract! Re: Locking my user and talk page

I have semi-protected your userpage as per your request, however will not protect your user talk page. User talk pages are the primary means for other editors to contact you - if this page is protected, that prevents good-faith anonymous editors from getting in touch with you. In cases of severe vandalism, you can request temporary protection at WP:RFPP, however in looking at the history I don't see that this is the case right now. Why this reversion?

Hi. Why did you make this reversion of a relevant reply to a question at WP:REFUND#Monolith Software? JohnCD (talk) 21:47, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Well, my system is now working much slower than usual, also the script is bugging right now.
That edit did not pass Huggle edit filter (user is not in whitelist, script didn't ask me "Are you sure...?", and, at last, revision was yellow marked which means potential unconstructive editing), and it first looks like an advertisement (copy + paste "We are the best company ..."). That could be explained as my try to revert (those the biggest) vandalism as quickly as possible. But, my slow computer (plus script bugging) could not work that fast. I tried to rely on my script, and therefore I didn't invest enough time in reading edits. :( But, I've, also, reverted most common vandalism, tests and other unconstructive edits. This edit of yours was clearly a mistake. Please try to be more careful. Michael Hardy (talk) 21:49, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks Alex. Herbolzheim (talk) 23:08, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

My opinion in this case, was that WP:INCUBATION for something that can be worked on by other while "waiting in the wings" out of article space could be better than an outright deletion. At the above AFD you wrote that you concurred with my comments. Might you wish to <s>strikethrough</s> your delete and/or change it to "Incubate"? Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 22:26, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

OK, but what's the different? If ever occur a reliable source (what I do not believe), we would easy re-create the article. Alex discussion 11:51, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for updating your AFD comment. Deletion carries a negative onus, and recreation of a deleted article (specially if done by an inexperienced editor) could have it "G4" speedied and re-enforce that negativity. The Incubator is a "holding area" that allows continued collaborative work so that when ready the whole thing can be returned to mainspace with its edit history intact. As I have experience with the Incubator,[1] I can assure you, there is far less work required to tune up something that is simply biding its time, than that needed to recreate a new article from scratch. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 03:07, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Hello. I have removed the CSD tag that you placed on the page Rintsikoita ja luudanvarsia because it does not appear to me to be a test page. It appears to be an article about a children's book written in the Finnish langauge. The CSD criteria that relate to notability do not apply to books, so if you still think it should be deleted I think you'll have to send it to PROD or AfD. Please let me know if you think that I am mistaken. Thank you. James500 (talk) 13:54, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Query about revert speed

Hey Aleksa,

I'm unclear as to why you reverted my edit to the International School of Boston, the text I removed was not about the school at all and really wasn't close to NPOV either. I noticed that you made 4 edits that minute, so I'm curious as to whether you read through the text that I had removed and considered the WP:COATRACK guideline before reverting? 78.187.196.18 (talk) 14:23, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

I would not say that huge text is completely non-useful. You should leave every text that could be useful for the theme of the article, as I can see you removed a lot of text that is, actually, related to the article. Think about it. Alex discussion 14:31, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, but whether something is useful or somewhat related to the article is not the criteria for inclusion in an article. Text should be about the subject of the article, in a neutral voice, and cited to a reliable source. Simply saying, X school teaches bilingual education education and then droning on about how important bilingual education is not a neutral treatment of the subject. Besides, if the information is included in wikilinks to other articles, why does it need to be in the school article?

(Also, slow down on those reverts--you will make more mistakes if you edit too quickly). 78.187.196.18 (talk) 07:08, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

While I agree that it doesn't look very notable, I've declined your speedy under A7. A7 is for things containing people, like, err, people, and clubs, companies, knitting circles, Churches (but not churches...) and grapefruit juggling teams, but not schools. It's also for web based stuff, for some odd reason. EPs are products and have to be prodded or AfDed (unless there is undeniable spam which makes anything speediable). Records can be speedied if the performer is a redlink. This one ain't, but I'm not quite sure why. Panyd seems to be. Peridon (talk) 13:15, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Your message

Hello, just read your message on my talk page, but I don't understand what you mean. Denisarona (talk) 09:25, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

That means it's recommend to warn uncostructive editors (for them to know that's not good for eg.). They must be correctly warned before reporting them to WP:AIV, if we would never warn them they'll never stop. I hope you understand. Cheers! Alex discussion 09:30, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for your non-response!! Denisarona (talk) 09:35, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
Sorry if I'm wrong, but at the time, I noticed you didn't warn following users on 13 September 2011: 216.243.212.217, 216.243.212.217, that means you don't "normally warn users". What is so non-understandable in here? Alex discussion 12:39, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
  • I issued a warning to 216.243.212.217 following my revert at 13:46.
  • With regard to 207.74.26.190 a final warning was issued at 13:43. My revert was at 13:45 and so I could not issue any further meaningful warnings.
  • The word normally means normally and not 'always'.
  • A quick check shows that you made a number of reverts on 13 September and you didn't issue warnings to the relevant editors.
  • What is not understandable is why you are issuing instructions to me when you don't seem to observe the same instructions.

Denisarona (talk) 14:35, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

I usually don't issue a warning when the edit is not crossing harmful limit, when the editor hasn't been warned before. Arguments you told seems to be ad hominem. However, it is my mistake. I'm sorry. Alex discussion 14:40, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

The article School hygiene has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Poorly sourced original research or synthesis

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Moogwrench (talk) 00:54, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Your source is a offline, non-English medical book. That is what I mean by poorly sourced. Your external links in English do not refer to your topic "School hygiene" except in a tangential way (in relation to Staph infection, not as a topic all by themselves), or they have to do with factors that go beyond "hygiene" (which I count as professional or personal practices that enhance health and specifically prevent disease) to sanitation, building design, etc. This is not "hygiene" as is evidenced by your UNICEF source which is actually entitled: "Water, sanitation and hygiene in schools" (so water and sanitation are not hygiene, otherwise that title would be redundant). Hence, awkward formulations, like these: "According to the standards, in a city, school must be located at least 100 meters far to main traffics, to avoid harm affection of noise, exhaust gases and possibility of accident. As for villages, school must be 2 km far to traffics." Again, this is not "school hygiene". It appears mostly to be a WP:COATRACK I would appreciate you telling me what your justification for all that is, instead of thinking that I was joking when I PROD'd it. Moogwrench (talk) 01:41, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
First, many science, medical or school books have verified correct information (they must be affirmed by The Ministry of Education what is very valuable), but they don't have the electronic edition. I found the article from University of Belgrade, School of Medicine about this topic. In Serbia, Shkolska higijena (translated of school hygiene, hygiene in school) is the common name, but I don't know what is the most common name in English speaking countries... Then, sanitation and building are strongly connected to hygiene, because well condition of environment (clean one) and well-built structures could be a good step in prevention of many diseases hygiene studies, “professional or personal practices that enhance health and specifically prevent disease” is one of the main points of hygiene. As for bad wording in some passages, I'm not that well English speaker, but my friend, who is perfect one, could help me, or you can do so...? I'm don't getting your connection to WP:COATRACK, because in that article I've written one clear definition, told points of hygiene in school, and then started a specific thematic related to school hygiene (about how school environment affects to health of students; all those facts can be found in book). If you ask me, proposing for quick deletion is too radical act in this situation – in worst case you could simply redirect that page to hygiene. Alex discussion 03:20, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
Well, since the AfD failed, I wanted to say a few things. In reality, as I said in my nomination, the existence of the article School hygiene was not so much the issue as getting a notability-confirming source, which we did, and the copyedit issues, which I and others have tried to work on. Let's try to work together to make this a great article... What I need your help on is expanding the use of "school hygiene" in a modern context, something that we don't really have over here in the US, at least. Maybe you have access/can understand some other resources (in Serbian, perhaps) that bring that modern spin to this older term, and we can find a way to work it into the article. Maybe you can write the text and I can help copyedit it for you. I hope that you agree with what I have done so far with the article, you can see my note on the talk page. Anyways, drop me a note on my talk page and let me know what you think. Also, I see you already noticed the new article American School Hygiene Association--I figured I had done so much research into the origins of "school hygiene" in the US I might as well use the information for something constructive. Cheers, Moogwrench (talk) 21:22, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Nomination of School hygiene for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article School hygiene is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/School hygiene until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Moogwrench (talk) 05:33, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Your revert there was perfectly justified (in my opinion), but the Huggle tag you used was "unexplained deletion...", while, in reality, the problem was unexplained addition of material from "2nd millennium". Please be more careful.

If I'm wrong, I apologize, as there have been some anomalies lately in which the edit I thought I was reverting was actually the reverse of what I thought it was. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 17:25, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

... has over 6,000 transclusions, which is quite high, so I'm not particularly keen on downgrading it to semi-protection. But feel free to ask at WP:RFPP to see what the admins more regularly involved in protection issues think. Regards, BencherliteTalk 22:22, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Greg Parys requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Pesky (talkstalk!) 08:42, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

Undone Changes on Organic_solar_cell?

Hi Alex, just noticed that you quickly undid my changes on the article on Organic_solar_cell. The reason why I added a list of companies is that at the moment there is no such list, but many startups around. I am working in the OPV community (no, not for any of those companies) and have often been asked to provide such a list. As I don't have the time to watch for new companies in this field and others have spotted new companies I haven't heard of, the wikipedia article is probably the best place to keep an updated list. It's probably best, if you revert the version, because if I do it, you might undo it immediately, again;-). The Organic_solar_cell article in general needs an update and I hope to find some time soon to that, but hopefully these changes won't be undone that quickly... 141.30.87.136 (talk) 17:23, 4 October 2011 (UTC). Warnings

No warnings are required to block a user. We prefer to have graduated warnings, but there is no polic requirement. The more active the editor, the more serious the disruption, the more likely that fewer (or no) warnings will be given. You may be confused by the oft stated rejection at AIV, "user insufficiently warned" which is a valid reason for rejecting a block request, which is basically what AIV is. However, in cases of blatant vandalism, often no warnings at all are given, and in the case of rapid and repeated disruption, fewer warnings are often the case. Blocks are preventative; this editor was not engaging and was continuing the disruptive editing. Now, he must engage if he wishes to be unblocked, and hopefully will pledge to follow policies and become a productive editor. KillerChihuahua?!? 21:04, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

I know that, but no one has sent him a warning of 3 or higher level warning, where there are notations about possible block, and so he maybe didn't know he will be blocked. Alex discussion 11:31, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Teen Titans (TV Series) Citation

Dear Aleksa,

I recently added two citations to the wikipedia page on the Teen Titans TV Series at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teen_Titans_(TV_series) under the i.p. of 137.132.3.10

The citations were rolled back by you. These two citations were video links demonstrating the veracity of the information in the sentence. I have created my account simply to tell you that these edits are legitimate citations, and not spam. The previous I.P. address is the address of the public institution I am currently at.

Hello, man, and welcome to Wikipedia. It might be you didn't know, but Wikipedia doesn't consider Facebook, YT and co. as reliable sources. Moreover, Wikipedia must limit their addition (especially in article space), due to copyright violations on those websites. Just be careful while adding links to YouTube or similar sites... Alex discussion 13:28, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the welcome. I understand the issue with reliability and possible copyright violations. I completely agree that my link to the facebook video is unlikely to meet those guidelines.

From what I understand however, wikipedia doesn't entirely regard youtube links as unreliable per se. On their webpage on reliable source material examples, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_source_examples, they do clarify that if the youtube video can be authenticated (for example, when published by the original copyright holder), then they CAN be regarded as primary source material.

Therefore, with regards to the latter youtube link, it is an advert put up by the official account of DC Entertainment TV advertising the upcoming Teen Titans TV Shorts. Hence, copyright violations are unlikely to be in issue and the reliability of the material is also likely to be sound.

Granted, the commercial doesn't prove everything stated in the paragraph i.e. the part on having the same voice actors. However, it does show that the series is indeed being revived in 2012 and it displays the teen titans in chibi form. Furthermore, one of the tags inserted by the video publisher is "teen titans", suggesting that the series revival is highly probable. In fact, the wikipedia page on DC Nation Shorts also cites the same video as the source for their statement on the Teen Titans' revival: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_Nation_Shorts#Teen_Titans (at footnote 8)

If the sentence on having the same voice actors is edited with a request for citations and the youtube link cited at the end of the first sentence, would the changes be acceptable? Also, I can add links to articles by reputable entertainment websites such as IGN: http://tv.ign.com/articles/121/1212575p1.html. However, I feel that these additional citations do not add extra value beyond the primary video source, as they merely comment on the very same youtube video link which I have cited.

Yours sincerely, Txingji2 (talk) 14:17, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

I decided to merge the wikipages Acidamniococcaceae and Veillonellaceae because its desciption was emended and accepted in 2010 by the International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology (IJSEM) and listed in the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN) to that of Class Negativicutes, Order Selenomonadales and families Veillonellaceae and Acidaminococcaceae.

Also the wikipage Veillonellaceae contains all the genera of the newly emended class Negativicutes containing both families Veillonellaceae and Acidaminococcaceae. Therefore I reasoned that the genera circumscription of the wikipage Veillonellaceae is the exactly the same as that of the wikipage Negativicutes, but the wikipage Negativicutes has more references and a detailed 16S rRNA-based LTP phylogeny.

Both wikipages Acidamniococcaceae and Veillonellaceae has the same one reference. So why not make the wikipage Negativicutes the destination page for both? Videsh Ramsahai (talk) 16:07, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Romana (singer).jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Romana (singer).jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 22:29, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

The article Sector boundaries has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources. Reads like an essay. Unencyclopedic.

Over hasty AFD

The Latvian Association for Support of Disabled People may well not be notable, however in cases like this where it's not a copyvio, attack page, vandalism or whatever, nominating for AFD just two minutes after the page has been created is bad form and is likely to be discouraging for the editor who created it. Not every editor has developed content in the first revision, so in such cases, it's best to give them a while to work on it before nominating it. Valenciano (talk) 18:05, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

OK. But, well, the user didn't put under construction template, so I made a decision based on what I saw. I'm willing to give a chance to user to well establish the article, but how long should we wait before the article is definitely finished and therefore capable for nominating? Alex discussion 18:12, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
Completely new editors like that are very unlikely to know about under construction templates. I'd wait a few hours minimum in cases like that, maybe drop a message on their talk page advising them of the need to reference it before AFD? Valenciano (talk) 18:16, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

AfD

Hi. I'm sorry to say that I've reverted your close at Roman Catholic teachings on pacifism and Just War. While it looks certain for a Delete result, I'll quote you the a rule about non-admin closure: "Non-administrators should not close discussions in which they lack the technical ability to act upon the outcome.". As you can't delete it, you shouldn't close it. It was a little soon, too, as discussions are usually open for seven days. (Unless you get ten or known editors so who all !vote according to policy...) You can close certain Keeps, especially where the nominator withdraws, or Deletes where an admin has already deleted the article. In the first case, you don't have to do anything and in the second, there's nothing to do either as it's been done. If there's a total vote for Merge, watch out as you might be landed with actually doing it. I only ever closed certain Keeps before I got the mop, and I mainly close ones where I've deleted the article (I try to be tidy), or where the deleter has forgotten the AfD bit. It's good to get some practice in, if you have thoughts of becoming an admin. (I did many of the things thought necessary without even thinking about becoming an admin - then someone mailed me and suggested it...) I never close a Merge result, as I haven't got a clue about how to do it. Even admins don't know everything... <8-( Peridon (talk) 16:34, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for your polite message. As far as I know discussion period last at least one week or longer, and the article was proposed on Tuesday early in the morning, so technically it wasn't too soon? (Or we should wait for more opinions to determine the fate of the article.) I noticed that my other non-admin closure when the result was 'delete' was well received and the article was deleted, so I thought this could be the case with other AfDs. So, anyway, until I get a mop I can only close certain 'keeps' where votes are according to policy (and I need to put appropriate template on the talk page)? Thank you for your advises. And, yes I would like to become an admin; I'm planning to do what I was doing last few days for a half of year or a year (taking part in AfDs, AfC, vandalism fighting, reporting, helping new users etc.), before applying; so do you have any other personal suggestion and do you think I will have chance? Regards. Alex discussion 17:14, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
I've contacted Metropolitan90 about this - either I'm wrong or he didn't notice. Without looking through your contribs, I'd say yes, those areas are important. Also, have a look at the boards - AN, ANI, VP, and even VP Tech (where I like to stir things now and then...). Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion is good too. Keep up with the speedy criteria and help to mould them. An important thing at RfA for an influential minority is content creation. I got away with two stubs, but some of them rabbit on about FAs, GAs and DYKs. These are nothing whatever to do with admin buttons, but if you have or can get any of those it will help. Take part in RfA discussions and learn from them. Avoid confrontation - that's good advice for everyone... Watch what goes on in CAT:UNB - you can't really DO anything much there except possibly sort out formatting, but you can learn a lot. Same at CAT:CSD. It's possible (with a good edit summary) to decline speedies, but watching how things are decided and how the different categories are applied is good. I watched quite a bit before I got going. (My first edit was removing rubbish from an article, and removing rubbish is what I mainly do.) Watch admins' talk pages - you're welcome to join my stalkers - and ask questions. If you're closing a Keep, make sure to remove the template from the article (with a summary to say why) and otherwise just follow the instructions. As you did. Have a look at my User:Peridon/links page. The top bit is the Admin Dashboard, the bottom bit is a load of oddments that I sometimes need. Or mostly don't, but can't be bothered removing. BTW I don't know why that double posting happened - there was only one tb when I looked. Peridon (talk) 17:39, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
Don't forget the other fDs - RfD and MfD in particular. They need more participants. Above all, don;t LOOK as though you're aiming for a mop. Build up gradually. Caution is better than rushing in and shouting loudly. Peridon (talk) 17:44, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

Why do you keep undoing my edits without explanation? 80.111.172.25 (talk) 18:01, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

Tip

If someone blanks a page, check if they are the only substantial contributor. Adding cats, correcting typos, tagging etc don't count as substantial content contribs. If they are, then tag G7. If they tag G7 themselves, do the check and leave the tag in place if it's right. Only remove it if they aren't the only contributor of content. Problems arise with IPs. Is the IP the author or not? I tend to assume not (and leave it alone). Sometimes it IS obvious (from edit summaries, etc). (Took me a while to understand blanking and G7 - I reverted some before I got the hang of it.) (Talk page visitor with edit conflict) You can't start a line with a smiley like :( - the : means 'indent' there. I've corrected it. You're not doing so well so far - one silly change to an article, and something I've just deleted as a 'test page'. That often means 'I'm being polite about this bit of silliness'. BLPPRODs

Hello. Please check out the rules of WP:BLPPROD: it says "To place a BLPPROD tag, the process requires that the article contain no sources in any form (as references, external links, etc.), which support any statements made about the person in the biography." At Francisco Portillo (footballer), you placed a BLPPROD within three minutes of the article being created, which is a bit quick off the mark, but the real problem is you placed it when the article already contained three sources, in the References section, which supported pretty well all the content of the article. Keep up the good work, but please take enough time to be sure you're getting it right. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 16:14, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

To add something, Prod BLP is to make sure that a BLP has at least something there. It's nothing to do with significance or notability. I wouldn't necessarily count those links as passing [[WP:RS] any more than IMDb does. Peridon (talk) 19:14, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
Just for information, should either of you ever come across those sites in future in a reliability context: ceroacero.es and its national variants (footballzz.co.uk etc) are user-edited, so isn't WP:RS; I have no evidence either way about BDFA; but soccerway is considered RS. It's published by Global Sports Media, which according to their about page is "the Sports Information Division of the PERFORM Group" (their about page) and supplies digital content to governing bodies, clubs, etc. As such can be presumed to have the "reputation for fact-checking and accuracy" required at WP:RS. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 19:29, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
I'm sorry. Apparently, I thought BLPPROD count as "no references" articles without <ref></ref> references... So, as "references" count any RS provided? Alex discussion 19:49, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
No harm done. But at the BLPPROD stage, we don't have to decide whether sources are RS or not. If there are any sources at all, RS or not, in whatever form, then we can't use a BLPPROD. I assume it's so that people patrolling pages can make a simple quick decision without having to use judgment (or guesswork) about reliable sources: are there any sources at all? no sources = BLPPROD, some sources = use a tag such as {{BLP sources}} or {{notability}}, or make a judgment as to whether an ordinary PROD would be appropriate. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 20:27, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

Friendly reminder

Heya just wanted to drop by with a friendly reminder that sometimes it's a good idea when using huggle to check out the article history with certain kinds of edits. This revert definitely looked at first glance to be vandalism, but the article history shows that the edit that was reverted was actually restoring the long-term version of the article (see for example this revision from Jan 2012). Because that kind of thing is, unfortunately, not that uncommon, it's often a good idea to glance at the article's history if you see that kind of edit being made. Cheers. For anyone reading this who doesn't speak Serbian, this is titled "Help" and it says "Help me out here". It is against Wikipedia policy to ask for support when making controversial edits. It is in violation of Wikipedia:Canvassing. Regards IJA (talk) 10:08, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Marilyn E. Jacox

Hi there -

I received a message this morning, that she passed away on October 30st this year. Therefore I changed the Wikipedia article to 'was an A.. physicist'. I think this is fully justified and I do not appreciate and do not understand your revert. Please explain. --77.58.4.163 (talk) 11:43, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, it seemed like a non-constructive edit since there was no year of dead provided, I've returned the revision as soon as I could. Alex discussion 04:55, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Demographic of Pakistan (Languages of Pakistan section)

In the presence of main article only crisp and precise summary is needed here so deleted un necessary repetitive sentences. 39.32.81.196 (talk) 15:12, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi Aleksa. Just letting you know that I've declined the speedy deletion tag you placed on this article, as it has substantial differences from the version that was deleted. I've no objection if you want to file another AFD for the page, though. Yunshui  11:49, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

The Next Step

The table would be squished if there was no "unnecessary" returns.

Thank you,

Jutarnji

Also, I added some things because Jutarnji is a newspaper well known for promoting Yugonostalgia and Serbophilia through its columnist like Ante Tomić, Davor Butković and so on.

There is also controversies regarding its curently relations which I had the attempt to add in the section. Davor Butković is known campaigner for the former PM Sanader and as such is under heavy critics of the public. Also, please dont erase my contents.

With Regards and have a nice day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.136.107.23 (talk) 15:40, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Vandalism?

Excuse me, but how does correcting the plural form of the Japanese noun anime (almost all Japanese nouns are mass nouns) constitute vandalism and on what grounds did you revert the correction of the plural form of that noun? 24.149.119.20 (talk) 17:02, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
