Armenian - Abyssinian[edit]

Hello Mr. Hgatnet. I need for your help!!!
Mr. Hgatnet. I am Armenian, and create the Africa Cup of Nations article. Please translate to Amharic this words - Dire Dawa Stadium, Addis Abeba Stadium, Africa Cup of Nations 1976. Thanks…. -- Vahe 11:31, 2 September 2011 (UTC+5)

Hello Mr. Vahe
This is am:user:hgetnet from amharic wikipedia, in response to your translation request:
Dire Dawa Stadium = ድሬዳዋ ስታዲየም
Addis Abeba Stadium = አዲስ አበባ ስታዲየም
Africa Cup of Nations 1976 = የ1968 የአፍሪካ ዋንጫ ውድድር
note: the year is different because Ethiopian calendar is different from the Gregorian) -- Hgetnet 17:43, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Thanks very much, Mr. Hgatnet
I know about Amharic calendar – it’s mainly religious. Armenians, Ethopians and Kopts (Egiptian Christians) are the monofisits among all Christians. By Armenian old or religious calendar it’s the year of 4503 (start from August 11). )))) But we use the Gregorian calendar, and I need use the date of AFRICAN NATIONS CUP in that article with Gregorian date. Thanks again!!!! -- Vahe 10:48, 12 September 2011 (UTC+5)
Hi again, Abyssinian friend
Please, tell me - whether I wrote the name of “Haile Selassie stadium” - “ቀዳማዊ ኃይለ ሥላሴ ስታዲየም”?
It’s about Addis Abeba stadium old name in 1962 Africa Cup of Nations Armenian article. (You can watch immediately)
Prethanks… -- Vahe 16:28, 15 September 2011 (UTC+5)

Yes it is the correct spelling !
“Haile Selassie stadium” - “ቀዳማዊ ኃይለ ሥላሴ ስታዲየም” - is perfect.
Mr.Vahe: If you do not mind, could you take a look at this picture from of an old building in Ethiopia. The text is in Armenian. What does the text say? thanks much. -- Hgetnet

It's again me - Vahe
The frase «Տեպրա-Թապոր, Թեոդորոսի դղյակը» is translated as “Tepra-Tapor, the palace of Theodoros”.
Probably refers to the Ethiopian Tewodros II (ዓፄ ቴዎድሮስ) King's palace in Gonder. -- Vahe 10:55, 16 September 2011 (UTC+5)
Please, tell me - whether I wrote the name of “Asmera stadium” - “አስመራ ስታዲየም”?
Also I have an another question: Have the English language official status in Ethopia?
Thanks… -- Vahe 11:06, 19 September 2011 (UTC+5)

Hello, Vahe
“አስመራ ስታዲየም” -- is also perfect. About the English language in Ethiopia, if I am not mistaken, it is taught from elementary school. But beginning highschool and into University, subject matters are taught exclusively in English. As a result it is not strange to see newspapers and books written in English in Ethiopia. But everyday business, for the most part, takes place in local languages. Hgetnet 04:03, 20 Սեպտեմբերի 2011 (UTC)

G'day, Abyssinian friend, it's again the Armenian man named Vahe
My friend, I need for your help again.
Please, translate to Amharic this abbreviation: “CAF” (Confederation of African Football). I would like that the Amharic abreviation was pronounced as “CAF”. Also, if you know the Tigrinya language, please translate to Tigrinya this phrase: “Cicero Stadium” (in Asmara). Maybe, you know write Arabian too. Tell me that can help )))
Prethanks... -- Vahe 23:14, 26 Febrary 2012 (UTC+4)

Hi Vahe, long time
Confederation of African Football = የአፍሪካ እግር ኳስ ኮንፌዴሬሽን, “CAF” = ካፍ, “Cicero Stadium” = ሲሴሮ ስታዲየም. About Arabic, sorry but I have very minute knowledge. May be Codex Siniaticus will help you. Hgetnet 23:57, 26 Febrary 2012 (UTC)
