Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page List of Americans of English descent has been reverted.
Your edit here to List of Americans of English descent was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline (see also this list of frequently-discussed sources). The reference(s) you added or changed (https://ethnicelebs.com/rivers-cuomo) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 06:44, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I removed your subsequent additions. You may want to check WP:RSP and WP:RSN to help determine if a source is reliable. --Hipal (talk) 19:25, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A comment on Instagram isnt a reliable source Nswix (talk) 02:37, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

So an Instagram comment from his family isn't a reliable source? Yet you provide a source which mistranslates the conversation of Tom, where he was referring to his children growing up with a Polish mother not himself. Verdad2165 (talk) 02:39, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No an Instagram comment isn't a reliable source, though on inspection I have reverted my edit, because FirstSportz also isn't relaible. Nswix (talk) 02:46, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at List of Americans of English descent, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. The target articles for these individuals do not support inclusion on this list. Do not add individuals to the article without sources. Schazjmd (talk) 00:55, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

They literally have English ancestry on their wikipedia pages with sources and it's sourced through the ethnicelebs.com Verdad2165 (talk) 06:56, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, they don't, and you've already been informed here on your talk page that ethnicelebs.com is not a reliable source. Schazjmd (talk) 14:35, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Would a genealogy website be a reliable source? I don't understand how it isn't a reliable source when it has the persons genealogical tree on it? Verdad2165 (talk) 00:39, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Any user-generated content (which includes most genealogy sites) is unacceptable. See WP:UGC for details. Anyway, if reliable sources writing about a person don't find their personal ancestry significant enough to mention, then it doesn't belong in their article, and if it isn't in their article (and properly sourced), then they don't belong on that list. Schazjmd (talk) 00:59, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the majority wouldn't even be on that list or any other ethnicity lists due to articles not being reliably sourced, or even if they are sourced, they still use user-generated genalogical sites. Verdad2165 (talk) 07:30, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's probably true, although I did clear out a large number of entries recently that failed verification so it's better than it was. More could likely be removed, but that certainly doesn't justify adding more unsourced claims to it. Schazjmd (talk) 13:52, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
